The Colonnades in Charlottesville, VA
4.8

We moved to independent living at the Colonnades 10 months ago, after considering 5 other Charlottesville area communities. The residents and staff quickly made us feel part of the community; we have many new friends from varied and interesting backgrounds. Pets are welcome. The sense of community is aided by a wide-ranging program of activities and by open seating in the dining room. Residential options include cottages with patios and garages and apartments with patios or balconies. There is an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, exercise equipment, a large room for fitness classes and a library. Common areas include a sky-lighted atrium, game room, bistro and auditorium for lectures, movies and live music. The 59-acre site is half wooded, with paved and unpaved trails. The health clinic is staffed by University of Virginia physicians, and physical, occupational and speech therapy are available. Assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing are also part of the complex.

The Heritage Inn in Charlottesville, VA

My loved one is doing well here at this community. From what I've heard she is doing well. They are taking good care of her and her needs. The community looked nice and well maintained. They have a good staff, they have been good to work with. So far everything is working out well. It is a nice community with kind people.

Linden House Assisted Living in Charlottesville, VA

The staff members are all very friendly, and the rooms they provide for the resident are nice sizable rooms. They are sufficient and we would recommend the Linden House Assisted Living to others.

Charlottesville, Virginia

Independent Living

If you or your loved one would benefit from the peace of mind of having your chores handled by professionalls while living the way you wish, think about the option of an Independent Living Community. Meals, recreational activities and housekeeping chores are taken care of while you are free to use your time as you desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Residents’ quarters consist of a private living space with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to entertain guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with independent care providers as desired. There are a variety of advantages and expenses to balance while determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in the care plan: meals, cable TV, initial assessment fee, utilities, move-in fee, housekeeping, Waiting list deposit, and transportation. The luxuries that pertain to independent living include healthcare center, concierge services, fitness center & swimming pool, laundry service, golf course, restaurant-style dining hall, beauty salon & barber shop, and game/TV room.
