2022 This place has brought life back to my mom and for that I am so appreciative. She now lives life with a purpose and consistently tells me how happy she is living at Linden House. The staff has helped her improve her personal challenges through physical therapy and memory tools. They also do a great job of including her in daily events which are fun and appropriate. Her apartment as well as the common areas are just lovely and the staff is friendly, quick to respond to concerns and truly caring. Highly recommend!... Read more
In the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Linden House Assisted Living at Branchlands offers residents a people-first attitude in a uniquely welcoming town. Charlottesville, Virginia, is well known as the home of the prestigious University of Virginia, and a focus on excellence is in the air here. Charlottesville applies its hard-working mentality to the public parks, which are clean and green. There are four beautiful parks all within a ten-minute drive from the facilities. Outdoor activities abound as the town is just a 30-minute drive to Shenandoah National Park where you can watch the sun filter through the forested mountains from an overlook, or hike to one of the many waterfalls. The city's thriving art scene means residents can attend performances, galleries, or craft fairs year-round.
Opened in 2018, Linden House has an immaculate and understated elegance. This facility encourages residents to stay engaged by using one of the many common areas. The landscaped courtyards and terraces complete with comfortable furniture are a standout feature. Residents and families can choose between studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom floor plans.
The Linden House ethos is to encourage independence by offering support, and there's no shortage of activities to accomplish this. Loved ones can lean...

I toured this community before placing my mom at a different location. The staff were on their phones and not paying attention to the call bells going off. I had to wait 25 for the sales people to be ready for our scheduled appointment. I was thrilled to tour because i had heard okay things about this place with Branchlands but the assisted living portion did not meet my standards.

I toured this community and it was very nice. The staff is friendly, very clean, lots of amenities, and the food looked good. The family liked it, but mom didn't for some reason.
We toured Linden House, it was a good tour experience and first impression. We chose another community because of proximity to family.
This was my second choice as a property. This was a great property, the staff were engaged and so were the residents. Everywhere I went there was something going on. People were socializing with each other and out and they encouraged them to get out of their rooms.
We moved my father into this facility in [date removed]. We moved him out in [date removed] because this place was so mismanaged. In the time he was there they have had 3 executive directors. Phone calls are not returned, emails are not answered, and appointments are not kept. The meals went from decent meals on china with silver, to cafeteria quality an paper plates and plastic utensils. Any time we asked about the lack of assistance my dad was getting told " We are short staffed". This is a beautiful facility. Lovely furnishings, pretty art work, nice views. But PLEASE look beyond all that and do your homework. Ask about the history of the management. Ask about the staffing ratio. Ask about the level of care residents get - bathing, getting in and out of bed, dressing - things my father paid for but didn't always get. I would not recommend Linden House.

I thought Linden House was really nice. It was newer, which was a huge selling point for us. It was one of my top choices.
The memory care is more in a group setting. This was our second choice. The community is light and airy and in a smaller neighborhood.
excellent facility-my first choice mother is finalizing her thoughts

The staff members are all very friendly, and the rooms they provide for the resident are nice sizable rooms. They are sufficient and we would recommend the Linden House Assisted Living to others.

It is a small place and many of the staff and residents are friendly and interesting people but probably less so then a larger assisted living. I chose this place because it is relatively close to my daughter's house and relatively well maintained. I would say that the food is not as good as I thought it would be because eating a meal here is really messy. I think that it can only be solved by changing the menu choices.

This is an absolutely beautiful place and if your parent or grandparent is healthy and can basically get around on their own, then I would check it out; but the group that designed the rooms obviously never had a parent or grandparent in assisted living or knows anything about bad knees or bad backs. The little kitchens, bathrooms are definitely not designed for seniors.

He was here for over 2 years, it started out very, very good and he just declined so then it was no longer good for him. When he was there it seemed to be just exactly what he needed so the problems we had were not with Branchlands but with his own medical issues. The meals were five days a week and the food was very very good he said. Mainly he went to the UVA library because they had a bus that would take him and I think he played bingo but he's not a real joiner.

A Place for Mom has scored Linden House Assisted Living 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
