First, you need to see this facility. They did a major renovation and it looks so different. It has been modernized and looks amazing. My Mom has been at Brandywine for a few years. It is a tough decision to make when your loved one needs more care than what you can give. The apartments are roomy. The food is wonderful. There are so many activities that one will never get bored. My Mom is now on the Reflections-Memory Care Unit. The care and support that she receives is amazing. She is well cared for. The staff is so genuine and supportive to my Mom and family. Administration takes the time to talk with you and answer your questions. It is like an extended family. I am so happy with making the decision to move my Mom to Brandywine.
They did a good job catering to his food preferences, the staff was super friendly and super with him, care was outstanding. We would most definitely recommend this community to other families.
Better ratio of nursing staff to patient, there is more one-on-one attention. Very clean facility, all private rooms and nice surroundings. The level of care here is far better than Neshaminy Manor, where our loved one had also been. However I can't stress enough this is SHORT term rehab, they basically boot you out after 2 or 3 weeks. We needed more long term care and would have preferred to keep him here, but the long term unit was filed with a long wait list, and private pay only. (easily $10K per month, maybe more for long term care.) Note they do NOT take Medicaide, but do take Medicare.

For many seniors, the financial burden of home ownership and the upkeep of daily tasks and chores might deter them from enjoying an otherwise independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities provide a solid alternative to this situation. Frequent needs such as housekeeping and the scheduling of social activities are accounted for, allowing residents more free time to live their lives as they desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they choose. While policies vary between communities, many residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with private care providers if desired. There are a number of benefits and costs to balance when determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in the care plan: Waiting list deposit, internet access, private phone, parking, transportation, field trips, initial assessment fee, and utilities. The amenities that pertain to independent living include concierge services, private rental hall, community activities, fitness center & swimming pool, beauty salon & barber shop, security guards, game/TV room, and restaurant-style dining hall.
