Juniper Village at Lebanon
5.0

Juniper Village is very clean, sometimes with communities and caring for elderly residents there may be unpleasant odor, but not that this community. The staff are very friendly, they usually talk to you as you walking around, call you by name and even talk about things your loved one is getting involved in. Our loved one is very happy and satisfied with the meals. Our loved one is diabetic, and at their previous community all they served was pasta and potatoes, but here they are serving fresh vegetables and fruit every day. Our loved one grew up in the country, and Juniper Village has a beautiful court yard with flowers, trees, benches and places to walk around. Also, everything is all on one level.

It's roomy, many areas where residents can spend individual time or visit with other residents without being alone in their rooms all the time. Quality of food is very good. I think it is very homey.

Fritzingertown Senior Living Center in Drums, PA
5.0

For the three or so weeks we were at Fritzingertown, we were completely satisfied, no complaints. It was close by, so it was easy to stop by every day, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day! If there had been any issues, they would've gotten it. The staff was very friendly, and when we first took my loved one, she was upset and they spent an hour to calm her and she was fine, she had a private room, and they were overall excellent and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Cold food wasn't cold, hot food wasn't hot. The meals were bland. They need a transport van. Wheelchair bound residents could not participate in excursions.

Complete guide to independent living

Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities offer seniors a nice balance between an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about housekeeping. You or your loved one may continue to use their free time as they desire while their food is cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and social activities are organized and scheduled. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they prefer. While policies differ between locations, a number of residences allow pets as well. If medical or nursing care is desired, residents may always utilize the services of private care providers. There are an assortment of benefits and expenses to balance while deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are covered in your care plan: private phone, field trips, wellness program, housekeeping, laundry, initial assessment fee, move-in fee, and meals. The benefits associated with independent living include golf course, concierge services, beauty salon & barber shop, healthcare center, community activities, restaurant-style dining hall, transportation, and private rental hall.
