The community is always clean. Every time we visit, my mother's apartment is always clean and the bathroom is always clean. Very high marks for cleanliness. Some of the staff is a bit friendlier than others, but they are all great with the residents. The care could be improved for the higher needs residents. The staff is really good about engaging the residents in activities. If a resident does not want to participate, they are good about encouraging them to do so in the future. Corcoran House is definitely worth the price. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we think Corcoran House is doing everything they can do protect the residents. During the community lock down, the staff has really stepped up to assist further than usual. It has been very difficult for my mother to be in quarantine.
My mother was a resident at Ledgewood Bay and things were very good for her when she was here. Communication with the family is solid. The Executive Director is very accessible and approachable. She showed me much empathy when my mom passed away. I wish they had the next level of care for non-ambulatory elderly, for my dad. I worry about having to move my dad at some point because of this. He's still a resident at this facility and he loves it here. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.
My parents were only there for 8 weeks. It was not a good fit for them. It is a very nice community but I have since learned that there are 2 types of assisted living communities. Some that are socially focused and some that have more focus on health care needs. Bowman is more focused on social and my parents needed more health care support.
