The staff is very friendly and helpful, and you have activities, except for Saturday and Sunday. They have transportation within a ten mile radius and no charge. They also do outings, such as trips to grocery stores and restaurants. The move in was easy. The meals are good, but should be more healthy and not seafood so much due to allergies. I would recommend this place to anyone.
We moved our dad here in January of this year. I have been so happy with the quality of care and cleanliness. All of the other families of the residents that I’ve met are all so kind. The food is excellent as well! I highly recommend Cumming Nursing Center for your loved one.
My husband ended up at Dogwood Forest in Grayson. It was expensive but I would give it a 10+. The food is so important to the residents, the high light of their day. They have a 'real' chef there and I ate many meals there myself. So number one is meals. They also had awesome entertainment. Sometimes it was the staff other times outside people. They go above and beyond the standards. You should check it out yourself.

If you or your loved one would like the convenience of having your housekeeping handled while living the way you want, you might want to consider an Independent Living Community. Basic tasks such as meal preparation and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is maintained, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they wish, free from daily responsibilities. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and interests. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to socialize with guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing care is desired, residents may always utilize the services of independent caregivers.
