This was based on the outside of my apartment . I lived at Woodlands the last time for one year. The entire half off of my front screen was hanging almost to the ground. This was in an apartment facing the lake on the street you drove in on. I asked to have it fixed and was told that would happen when it came up on their schedule. It never happened. Overall the staff was always friendly. I can only speak for Independent Living. There was virtually no care. I had a few friends on staff who would drop by if I hadn't been seen for a week or more. My family would never have considered eating in the dining room. I cooked most of my meals and would only go down when there something I knew would be alright. I will say the soup was generally always good. To be honest the activities seemed to appeal to a lot of people. If they had art projects I would go but I don't enjoy games, I paid my total bill so it was not a concern to my family. Woodlands, as far as I know was the cheapest place available. It would not be what I would have chosen if I could have afforded more.... Read more

A shout out to [name removed] who has been incredible in sharing information on my brother, [name removed]. She has shown caring, professionalism, humor, and understanding. I am impressed with Woodland Village, and have been since my first visit. I am in awe of the caretakers, staff, and I applaud all who are in this field...the ones who do it with compassion. A seriously underpaid profession as most of our essential service workers are...

Woodlands, under the direction of [name removed] & every member of her team, has always been a facility that focuses on the safety & well-being of every resident. Now, under the added stressors of the COVID19 crisis, all the staff has stepped up above the highest expectations to further protect their residents. As a family member, I am confident in Woodlands’ policies & in the capabilities of the administrators & staff. I am pleased to hear communications & updates on a daily basis, always including contact information if I want to ask questions. I want to thank everyone at Woodlands. Keep up the good work.

In these unusual and often trying times, I feel that much to often I fail to show gratitude to the staff members who play such a hugh part in keeping my life on track. When my doorbell rings, I know that on the other side of the door will be a smiling face and a person who, with a few comments will turn mundane into exceptional. I hope when our lives are all back to normal and our days are once again full, I never forget the Wonderful staff at Woodlands Village that we’re always there when times were hard.

Not taking temperatures daily. Extremely late and cold meals. Long waits when pressing alert monitor. On the up side. Friendly aides, especially cleaning my apartment. [Name removed] was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our tour of this facility. It is very large and we are unsure if needs will be met in such a big space or if our Dad would feel entirely comfortable. Covid has made this difficult.

Room sizes are good. The food was not as good as when it was served in the dining room. It is mostly sandwiches brought to your room. They have outdoor space. The staff was very good. It was an okay place overall.

Pleasant staff. Facility is an older community and has no central AC. AC units are in each unit--same as in many motels. Pricing is good. Hallways are narrow and dark. There is an odor that bothered me. Will continue to look

Don't send your loved one to the Assisted Living side of this facility. The AL side has a serious roach and other bug issue and is in great need of repair/updating. The day staff is good but night and mid shift are not responsive to resident pages and needs. Housekeeping is sometimes good but the turnover of employees is quick. They stole from my parents and several occasions. Laundry is gross as the wash accident soiled clothes with the rest of the laundry. Comes back stained, sometimes smells and a mess.

Don't put your loved ones in the Assisted Living side of this facility. After 2 years of constantly having to fight for decent housekeeping and laundry, repairs to be made it wasn't worth it. Major cock roach problems! Everyone in AL had bugs. The building is old and needs serious repairs. The staff turns over quite a bit especially housekeepers some which stole from my parents. The day staff is better at responding to call buttons but forget night or mid shifts.

We were pleasantly surprised by what were saw . Staff members we met from management to housekeeping were pleasant, attentive and showed genuine personal interaction with the residents. The facility seems well maintained inside and out. Rooms are quite adequate and the screened patios are a great selling point for us as outdoor plant lovers. We were offered the opportunity to include lunch in our tour and regret not doing that. I think we would have had one more factor to help us in our decision making process. Good selling points include a designated bright chapel area, on sight shop with basic necessities run BY the residents, a well presented calendar of activities and events, transportation schedules, and on site medical appointments. [Name removed], executive director could not have been more pleasant, patient and genuinely interested in our understanding every aspect of the life style they offer. The rates are competitive but the contract has no medical exclusion so should one have to go in the hospital or rehab they are responsible for the entire period of the lease. This may be an industry practice but I find it unsettling. Overall we are favorably impressed!

I would not even give this place one star!!! My husband went here while I was hospitalized and got roped in by a saleslady on her last day. She never had me sign. She had him sign and he is blind!!! She said do not worry about your wife just put POA. You have to stay for six months. We only get social security and could not afford the 2650 every month and the deposit. They did not even give him the apartment that they showed him bait and switch?! Our apartment was full of bugs and flying termites. They only sprayed once using an over the counter spray. There carpeting near the kitchen and dining room is so filthy you lose your appetite. Of course each meal took two hours and you were only given a very small portion. You are always hungry The activities are few and far between. I participated in none all the time I was there. Please think twice before signing up for this nightmare.

Take time and look closely. Consider the age and lack of updating such as tile instead of the nasty carpeting. Stay for a meal andnote how long it takes for each part of the meal. Usual time up to over an hour. Wait and wait. Then the portion size is like a tv dinner and quite often cold the weekly housekeeping is a joke and the laundry machines are always without knobs You have steps to get to your lanai and if you have a wheelchair it is impossible Just take a good look.

A Place for Mom has scored Woodlands Village 9.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
