We toured ViewPointe during our search for a Memory Care facility for our loved one. This facility was okay. However, it was too large and glittery for my taste. They also had an eighteen month waiting list. We decided to continue on with our search.
The community had made promises and we haven't seen a lot of delivery of these promises. There is one staff member who responds immediately to the family's questions via text or calls and will even give us suggestions. Then other staff that won't respond to the family to assist us or our loved one with questions or concerns.

Lovely community very well kept and seemed to have very friendly and caring staff.
ViewPointe is a clean, comfortable and elegant place. The dining and common areas look inviting and spacious. The staff is accommodating and attentive to the residents and the visitors. They have regular meetings with the residents, giving them a chance to voice any questions or concerns. I've spoken to residents that have lived there for up to 10 years, and they speak highly of the place. The accommodations range from independent living to memory care. The prices are reasonable for the quality they provide. I would absolutely recommend them for anyone looking for assisted living/retirement residence.

The marketing sales person gives you a lot of information that ends up not being true by the nursing staff. The assisted living community is supposed to be assisting the residents in my opinion. We were told that they would check on the residents every 2 hours; however, the nursing staff stated that they wouldn't be checking on the residents every 2 hours, and that the resident needs to be advocating for themselves. The staff would check on the residents during the medication drops which was approximately 2-3 times a day. The staff saw that my loved one was on the floor, but my loved one said they didn't fall. They staff didn't try to assist my loved one one back onto their feet either. My loved one ended up having to go to the hospital. The community stated that they would make arrangements to the hospital, but the family would be responsible for making arrangements to get my loved one back to the community. The assessment paperwork wasn't signed by the nurse that did my loved one's assessment. I found this out afterwards.

As far as cleanliness, that's all there. The staff is friendly and polite. I think they might be able to provide a little more guidance to the residents. Yes, they give them a schedule. But my loved one is forgetful, and I don't think he realizes there are so many opportunities for things to do. I'd like to see them remind him a little bit more about activities and things. We are having some issues with personal hygiene. My loved one is uncomfortable undressing and showering in front of the female caregivers. So we've asked for a male nurse, and that hasn't happened yet. The food is kind of bland as well, but I understand why.

This facility used to be an apartment building. When we walked in nothing really stuck out to us, it was in the midst of covid and we did not really see anybody. The gal who gave us the tour was nice, informative, and she did follow up a few times.
This is a place where I wouldn't send my worst enemy. Most of the staff are OK, but whenever I went to visit my mother, everyone seemed on edge. On one of those visits, I witnessed the Executive Director [name removed] talking down, in a rather loud voice, to staff in front of the residents and their family members. I could see immediately the embarrassment on their faces. A few days later, I heard her at the front desk, refusing to speak with a family member. Not long after that she actually scolded a resident in the dining room. I continued to watch for her outbursts, and figured out that they were very frequent, and pretty much no one was exempt from her wrath. She is not a compassionate person, especially when she treats people the way she does. I was very uncomfortable leaving my mom in this environment, especially because I felt like it would only be a matter of time before she verbally attacked my mother. We vacated as soon as we found another nicer facility to take care of mom. I would suggest that any potential resident to just visit the facility on several different times to get the true picture of what kind of place this is. I cannot figure out why they have some "good" reviews, unless it's staff that is writing them. Also, I have noticed that they cannot seem to keep a nurse position filled. They have had 4 or 5 nurses in the last few years! Don't take a risk with your loved one's!

This review is based solely on the behavior of the Executive Director [name removed]. Unfortunately the facility is guided by an employee who is blatantly unhappy with her station in life. My engagement with her has been curt to say the least. I was moving a family friend into the facility and required help which she stated was against policy but when I left other staff helped out to get the items moved in the apartment. I have never heard kindness to be against policy. Shame on you [name removed]. Kindness and decency are an integral part of human connection which you lack. As for all the other staff, kudos for working for the betterment of the facility and making things easier for family and friends.

Facility felt warm and home like. Wide open hallways, lovely front lobby, many worship and Christian activities, the 1 bed 1 bath was roomy with big big closets. The staff were very informative and friendly. We loved everything about it and it’s on the top of our list.

I likes that it is smaller and the room are fairly big with a LOT of storage space. The do go on a bus and tour around to different places. I do like that the can get a PA there to look at Mom if an issue arises and she wouldn't HAVE to go to the doctor's office, even though our doctor's office is very close. Didn't see a lot of activity. Only one choice for a meal and I don't think my Mom would care for that option.

The marketing agent was super---attentive, sensitive, quickly adapting her "spiel" to the information we needed. We would move in tomorrow if these places for independent living didn't cost so much. Maybe some day! When we're ready, Viewpointe would be our first choice.

December 28, 2017Thank you for the review and kind words. You are correct that our activity calendar is always full with different activities. We only have showers throughout our community as a safety precaution for our residents. We wish you the best of luck finding not just a community, but a "new home".
We had a tour here and along with other places too. They were fine and suitable for our needs but my mom did not pick this community for her reasons.
