The care was sketchy when we first moved in. Now it's going really well. A hiccup here and there, but nothing of concern. I would recommend this facility- and I imagine it's true w any facility that the family needs to be involved to ensure care, meds, all services are provided. I live with my Mom which is unheard of but this facility was the only one to consider it. We picked this community, because they didn't have 12-24 month private pay requirement, and they assured me their staff could handle Mom in hoyer and other limitations she had. All staff from aides to admin are non-responsive except a few. There's no disciplinary action with aides, so issues are not resolved. Aides need training that isn't given.

Mom has made lots of friends and stuff, but she really doesn't want to be there. She is keeping busy so that is good for our family. The place is very nice and the staff is wonderful. Sometimes there are some aides that don't get along with her or she doesn't really care for them but all for the most part is wonderful.
Everything we saw on our tour was fine. They showed us the rooms, gathering areas, and services offered.

September 8, 2021Thank you for your constructive review! The last week September we have hired a professional filming and photographer to record tours at The Residence at North Ridge. There are staff members positively reviewing their own facility on various sites. You'll also notice a lot of positive reviews on Google Reviews from folks that have only submitted that one review. Red flags that their rating is being purposefully skewed. Patient with broken hip - - Patient had to wait 7 hours between requesting pain meds and receiving them. - When requesting assistance to use the restroom, patient has had to wait up to an hour until any one shows up. - Patient is supposed to be having physical therapy every day. Days have been skipped due to staff not showing up. - Patient had to inform staff member on how to use a wheelchair (brake function). AND NOW... - Patient was informed that visitors would no longer be allowed due to coronavirus. No further details were given. Patient called family as no one outside of the facility has been notified. Is this precautionary? Due to a case of coronavirus in the facility? No one knows. Communication is terrible. SUMMARY: Do not utilize this facility. Communication is non-existent and staff are incompetent.

Regarding: NorthRidge Assisted Living, New Hope, MN The staffing of aides and nurses is reaching a critical shortage. The director of nursing was making changes that benefitted the residents in meeting their needs and the Mission Health reputation. She was hired to fix a situation that was in desperate need and now, within a few months, has been relieved of her job. The director of The Residence, was also brought in at about the same time as the nursing director, to help right a floundering ship. He left, seeing a futile effort in combatting the corporate mentality of the bottom line above taking care of the customers, the residents. I don't know where the incompetence lies in these decisions that have been made, but anyone considering this location needs to know these problems have been ongoing for at least 1 year. Staffing is at a critical shortage; it seems everyday the workers that are still there are physically unable to keep up with residents' needs as they are doing the work of 2 or more people. The corporate level does not seem to be doing anything about this risk being taken with management oversight and the shortage in trained staff. The expensive remodel and facility upgrades are looks that are deceiving.

My Mom really likes living here. They’ve been great with her and our family has been very happy with the care she’s receiving. She initially started out in assisted living, but they were able to identify right away that memory care would be better for her and were very proactive in making sure she got situated in a timely manner. Everyone learned her name right away and the staff is very friendly. They joke around with her often. The food is great, she loves it, and she has a couple of choices to choose from for every meal. The building is kept very clean and housekeeping comes by every day to do the basics like empty the trash, straighten up, and make the bed. They also come once a week to do a more thorough clean. There are a few activities for the residents like bowling with plastic bowling balls and pins, movies, entertainment, and during the holidays they even had a big celebration where the whole family was invited. I would recommend this place for anyone.

I also toured North Ridge Independent and Assisted Living with my sister and brother in law. We though the place was clean and maintained well. The staff was all very friendly and the person that took us around gave us good information. It was just not the best fit for me.

I wasn't that impressed with my tour of this community. The community for the most part appeared to be well maintained. The staff was friendly and kind. I didn't get the feeling that this was the place for me.

Dad is still adjusting to living at North Ridge. I cannot complain as every time I need help the staff is there. The community recently changed hands and some of the resident say the food is not as good, however I like the food. They offer daily activities. The community is well maintained. I would recommend this community.

[removed] She also told us that North Ridge doesn't take memory care patients which surprised me since reading on their web site they have 2 levels of memory care. Cynthia clarified that in the building she works at there is only independent and assisted living. The building next door is where the rehab and long term care are located. So, if you're looking for that type of care, Cynthia is not the person to contact. She said to contact the admissions desk instead. The assisted living apartments are very nice. They have 24 hour nursing on the same floor as the residents. The best part was the price. For our mom's estimated need for care the monthly price was about 1500 dollars less a month compared with all the other places we've toured.

My daughter and I were pleased with North Ridge. A lot more space for walking & more activities during the day, to keep the clients busy. Seemed very clean & liked the way the meals were served. Instead of getting a tray - like in the hospital. Also like the outside courtyard that was on the same floor and easily accessible to the clients.
