It has gotten better from our first couple of years, but there is room for improvement. It is on the expensive side, so your family must be prepared for the financial commitment.

My father spent just 13 days at the Landing at Watercrest. Due to the poor care he received he is currently in the hospital. Despite a text from the director on [date removed] saying that he would talk to the chef about a low salt diet for Dad, no one spoke with the chef and they kept him on a regular diet. He has congestive heart failure. All of that salt caused an extreme build up of fluid around his lungs, heart and legs. That was what sent him to the ER. The medication list the Landing sent with him to the ER was missing 3 medications, including his diuretic. On his first day at the facility he received none of his medication. He was in memory care at the highest level of care but they wouldn’t remind him to wear his compression socks until we got a doctor’s order so his legs were very swollen. They seemed to be short staffed and there appeared to be a severe lack of communication between shifts. I would not let the Landing care for my cat much less my father!

We used The Landing at Watercrest Shadow Creek Ranch for a one week respite stay for my loved one. The experience was wonderful for my loved one. It's a high end facility as far as Assisted Living facilities. It's expensive. If money is not an issue, then it's top-notch and a first choice. If you're on a budget, a senior citizen and family should look at less expensive choices.

The Landing is a great place for a loved one to stay. If there is a problem, the administrator and staff are very prompt in resolving issues. The rooms are kept clean and the food is good!

The staff, for the most part, is friendly. Some are consistently friendly and some are on occasion. The housekeeping is pretty good. I wish it was more than once a week for apartment cleaning. Also, my mom was missing a few items so I started picking up her clothes and washing them myself. There is no real communication with family. If questions are asked they answer them, but I don't hear from the staff unless I call directly The move in process was pretty good. No complaints there My only recommendation is consistency. I've seen a few new faces in the short time my mom has been a resident. She relies on one person and then she ends up with someone new, as far as helping her dress, bathe etc. Also, reach out once in awhile and communicate with the families. They shouldn't rely on us picking up the weekly schedule. An email or phone call from the head nurse would be an added treat.

Since Dad moved to Landing at Watercrest Shadow Creek Ranch, I've seen a remarkable change in his spirits. The commitment to personalized care, the Montessori-based activities, and the technology-enhanced living have brought joy and dignity back into his life. Dining with choices he loves, and the secure, well-designed living space give us peace of mind. It's more than a community; it's a place where he continues to grow and thrive.

We toured The Landing at Watercrest Shadow Creek Ranch during our search for an Assisted Living facility for my mother. We had a fantastic tour! It was very informative. The facility offered all levels of care. The staff was friendly. The carpet was atrocious- very bold colors and pattern that made me feel dizzy just walking down the corridor. It would really bother my mom, as would the long hallways.
The community itself is very beautiful, inside and out and also on their social media pages but it's all for show. In the beginning for move in, you are promised a ton of great amenities but once moved in, that goes out the window. The staff has a high turnover rate I hear because they are underpaid yet unlicensed. Apparently you do NOT have to be certified to work here, not for caregiving and not for medication pass. Very dangerous. They dropped my mother on floor in plain sight of our camera and fractured her foot in two places. No consequences were done to that employee, she still works there day by day. Did I mention how some employees are literally living in the building? I've seen two employees moving their personal belongings in the building. Craziness, and they are still understaffed. The extended care department is the worse when it comes to care and the assisted living department is not so assisting. During tours, the memory care department wreaked of urine and feces.

I had to create a calendar for nurses to sign off, when medications were given because they weren't coming by. Did not respect DNR, some staff were very sweet to my grandma, some were very rude... and were fired. Took twice as long to answer calls to room, we were told 15 minutes at max, I personally waited over 30 minutes multiple times for a nurse to come to the room. I would tell others that if you are planning on using The Landing at Watercrest, it is best to from the start to swap all pharmacy services to theirs. This will save time and headaches later. Same with primary care. Once we did, a lot of things went smoother. It all depends on the care needed, my grandmother wasn't very mobile and needed more care... if someone was in better health and needed less help this wild be a great place. I think they offer a lot of good amenities, but might be understaffed to provide the care they advertise.
