Good Food, For the most part, dedicated staff. One observation, they do not hang the clothes after laundry day.

The management there really needs help. Apparently the company has been sold. Not sure what the new management is going to be like.

Mom has live at The Grove on Forest Lane for two years; first year-and-a-half in assisted living and now memory care. She just turned 96 and it has been a wonderful experience for her and our family. She misses her home of course but likes her surroundings now. We know she's getting the best care possible and a big plus is that mom loves meal time at The Grove. I highly recommend the facility for anyone with aging parents.

When my husband and I turned 72 and 73 we began to feel the beginnings of a few medical issues ,such as falling and mental recall. We had been talking about downsizing for awhile. It was time. We did not want our children to have to clean our home when we passed. We had a 5 bedroom, 4 bath home with a pool and pool house. In other words, lots of stuff. We did not know how easy it would be to sell our home and at the same time, find a place to live out our golden years. Our children helped us as they wanted us in a safe and caring environment. We looked all over far north Dallas and surrounding areas. They actually found the Grove on Forest. So, we moved in and we know we made the right choice. The food is great, the staff is very caring and supportive, and it was all we expected and more. Should you select the Grove for yourselves , you will be glad you did. The transition from home to apartment went easily, primarily through the help of our children and the Grove team.

Faculty/ front desk people are amazing. They're helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The housekeeping is questionable. They did very little to go out of their way and pick things up off of the floor. I don't think they ever scrubbed my loved one's kitchen sink. The medical staff is amazing. [name removed] on the spot, very cautious about dispensing of medication. The moving in and moving out process was relatively simple. Senior movers are a wonderful group of people. [Name removed] is a one-man power worker. He's friendly, very cordial and very knowledgeable. The food was okay. The salads were a joke. Such a small bowl you couldn't even mix it, all four bites! The soup was good. Overall, I would recommend The Grove. It was a perfect place and perfect experience for my loved one. They did a good job overall.

The facility is newly remodeled and beautiful - it's light, bright, and airy. It took a month or so to work out some medication kinks, but staff is friendly, helpful, and respectful. I wish they made more of an effort to get memory care patients to participate in activities w/the assisted living folks, as able, though. I chose the facility in large measure based on its activities, and it's disappointing that mom has to remember to tell them she wants to play games timely in order to get to play. Because she can't remember a schedule, anymore.

Mom moved in [date removed] and I cannot move her out fast enough. Staff does not communicate to family by email or phone any issues regarding your beloved family members. The staff loves to bark out from upstairs into the dining to me that "it is not my mom's scheduled time for that now." It seems like her scheduled time comes and goes each week and she doesn't get any housekeeping, help with a shower, or laundry done. If I say, "can you please help, my mom today because she has not had a shower in a couple weeks?" They say, "well we cannot do that now, that is second shift." Next big issue, the residents do not have keys to their rooms so they cannot lock up when they leave. The staff does not have a master key so if the resident deadbolts their doors, the staff cannot get in to assist. Mom fell and a fireman had to come bust the lock so they could get in. Maintenance items are not handled promptly, and I must repeatedly request again and again.

The Grove on Forest Lane was nice and the staff were nice to work with.. The care level available wasn't as good as we would have wanted for our loved one.
During a COVID-19 lockdown, they did not seem to handle the situation welll. Some of the staff members were nice, and some were not. The food was good, and was mostly to go meals. They barely had any activites. They can improve on keeping family members informed of what's going on.

We have not had a good experience. My loved one has lost a considerable amount of weight and basically lays in bed all day. Her urine is as dark as I've ever seen urine, which I talked to my doctor about, and he let me know that's severe dehydration. My loved one is NOT being well taken care of. The snacks I bring for her are being taken by the staff for themselves. The company has just changed from The Avenues to The Grove, and there is a new manager. I don't know yet if that is going to result in any improvement. They've just replaced the one person, and the rest of the staff remains the same. As things are right now, I would not recommend them.
I did not get a very good first impression from The Avenues of Park Forest. To me it felt more cold and institutional and we did not want that.

The Avenues at Park Forest felt a little too institutionalized. We didn’t like it. They did seem to be trying though.

Our family was able to do a virtual tour, and the only reason this is getting a 4 is because we were not able to physically see inside the community. However it was a good experience, the lady walked us around to different rooms and showed us different amenities. It was a good and different way to see the community. We thought the lady did a very good job. .
