My mom said they had a great chef when she first got there. She states the new chef serves a lot of starches. She says the new chef doesn't add any flavor to the food. She states everything is pretty bland. My mom says since they got a new activity Director they do less activities. She says all they do is play bingo. They used to go and get their nails done once a month and that's no longer on the table. The food I hear about almost daily, and the activities are her two biggest complaints... Read more

March 4, 2024Thank you for sharing your thoughts about The Grandview of Chisholm Trail. We're happy to learn that you've given us five stars overall but are disappointed to hear about your mother's recent experience with our culinary and activity offerings. Your feedback is incredibly important to us as we continuously strive to improve and meet the needs of our residents. To share more information, please contact wecare@csrliving.com at your earliest convenience. We appreciate your time.
The facility works all three areas, independent living, assisted living and memory care. I only deal with the assisted living part. Can't comment about the other two. Appears better suited to independent living but that subjective.

Response from The Grandview of Chisholm Trail
February 15, 2024Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding The Grandview of Chisholm Trail. We appreciate your perspective on the assisted living aspect of our community. We understand that each individual's experience may vary based on personal preferences and circumstances. If there are any specific areas where we can improve or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let us know. We're committed to providing the best possible care and accommodations for all our residents!
The facility is beautiful and the premises are kept very clean. This creates a good impression for the Observer. However, our personal experience has been very disappointing, and at times exasperating. The response time to help calls from the help pendant is sometimes very long. We do not expect an immediate response, however we do expect for someone to show up and help within a reasonable amount of time, say 20 to 30 minutes. My loved one's room is a total mess, with things scattered and a large pile of laundry, including bed sheets/towels/blankets/and all kinds of clothes in the bathroom area. The workers manage to make a mess on a daily basis. Myself or another family member cleans our loved one's room often, multiple times per week. We even wipe the floors clean, which at times are filthy. I visit often and I do not understand the constant mess. Overall, the staff is friendly and engaging. However, they are understaffed. I believe that if more staff were to be hired, and a supervisor oversees what is going on, things would improve tremendously. The Executive Director and her front staff are incredibly helpful. However, the caregivers have to be accountable so that the residents can get the help that they need.

Moved family member out. Was not worth the money. Pretty building but doesn’t live up to promises. Don’t put your loved one in this facility. Sub par. Staff turnoff is huge and makes it difficult to get continuity of care. Room small

The staff is extremely friendly and caring. They keep me informed of any and all matters. My Mom has moderate dementia and they know how to handle her mood swings. The facility is always clean, they even clean her room and change her bedclothes often. Trash is taken out twice a day. The food is very good. The ONLY issue is there's a long wait for food, but that's because they cook to order. They don't make one meal and serve it to all of the residents. The residents also have an option of eating in their room as opposed to waiting in the dining room. I would highly recommend The Grandview of Chisholm Trail to others!

Response from The Grandview of Chisholm Trail
July 10, 2023Hi, Cheryl. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at The Grandview of Chisholm Trail. We greatly appreciate your kind words and the trust you have placed in our staff and community. We are delighted to hear that our friendly and caring staff have made a positive impact on your experience. Our team is dedicated to keeping you informed and ensuring that your loved one receives the best care possible with compassion and expertise. Thank you for highly recommending The Grandview of Chisholm Trail to others. We truly value your feedback and are honored to be a part of your loved one's care journey. If there is anything else we can do to enhance your experience, please do not hesitate to let us know!
I think they do a lot well, but I think they could be doing better for my loves one specifically. Like, our loved one needs extra motivation to be social, but they mostly let our loved stay in their room alone. That kind of thing. The place is very well maintained. They are almost always super friendly and responsive. Not sure if my our loved has seen the in-house doctor or not. Lack of mental health care. The food is good, but sometimes slow due to what appears to be staff shortages and/or training issues. I think they have plenty of activities available. I wish my our loved would participate more. Maybe a handful of them should be incentivized. We are paying a LOT for this place and I just don't think I'm getting the quality of care that I expected for the price. Probably just not enough workers to spend the amount of time I'm looking for. Nothing outright negative going on. The place is really nice, but I feel like my our loved may be growing even more sad and lonely there they already were. I think they do well with what they have. But (I could be wrong) the top 2 people on site, the Director and the Community Services Director have left very recently for other opportunities. It feels like they are really hanging on and shuffling people around, and I worry that if they don't find good replacements quickly, the care level will drop for everyone. I know my our loved can be tough and stubborn, and they are stuck in their ways a bit. I just wish there were people/things there that would entice our loved to be more social. But to answer the question directly, yes. There is room for major improvement there. The property is beautiful, but I think they need more staff to really get the most of it for the residents. Hopefully they are hiring.

[name removed] is awesome - she is the Activity Director. Food was amazing ..totally a 5 when first moved in... the chef left and some of the quality of food left too...example...the burger used to be one of the best burgers I've ever had, gourmet style, juicy and full of flavor... now it's pretty simple boring patty on a cold bun. Food now is more like cafeteria food … not bad...but not gourmet taste and appearance like before when the Chef was there. . Have had some snarky attitude from newest Wellness Director, and lack of communicating back to family has been an issue. We've had to be persistent with calling for answers etc.

They are really good to my loved one. There are some things they need to figure out and work on, but they are on their way to doing a really good job.
Response from The Grandview of Chisholm Trail
February 20, 2023Thank you for your kind feedback about our community!
So far so good! One of the things that really struck us about The Grandview was how very bright, sunny, and happy it felt. The people are all friendly and open and have made Dad feel at home. The staff are learning how to figure my dad out and his needs - he can be tricky one to figure out. But they're asking questions of us when they need to, and we expected that learning and growing process going in. He loves the food and cleans his plate all the time. We've also tried the food and thought it was delicious as well. They always make sure he's not sitting alone, which we appreciate. And it's a great value, which is one of the things that initially drew us to The Grandview.

We are appreciative of your trust in us to provide a fulfilling and vibrant lifestyle for your loved one.
The Grandview of Chisolm Trail has been a great experience so far, we have no problems and it is just a night and day experience compared to our loved ones previous community. The cleanliness is great and the staff members are all super nice. Our loved one absolutely loves the meals and dining service. They have quite a variety of activities like Sunday Church services, a gardening club, flower arranging classes, bingo and they take fields trips to the local stores. We would definitely recommend this community to other families

The Grandview of Chisholm Trail has been a wonderful place for my mom to live. She is loved, cared for, and made to feel very special. During times when she has struggled with her health, the staff made sure that she was well cared for and safe. The Manager and staff are always communicating with me in such a positive and professional way. The Activities Director keeps everyone engaged, laughing, and finding joy in their latter years. The Wellness Director and her staff make sure that Mom’s health is attended to in a kind way. Mom is very happy and content here, and that brings me comfort.

October 3, 2022Ruth, thank you for your very kind words about our community. It is an honor to care for your mom here at The Grandview of Chisholm Trail!
Absolutely the most beautiful facility that we have looked at. Bright open and inviting with tall ceilings and a grand entry way. It has a private dining area where you can sit and eat with family ar friends. Large and open dining room area with great food and wonderful residents that are very friendly. The staff is absolutely amazing and were very helpful to dad. We really enjoyed the outdoor car show with awesome hot dogs and more. Dad absolutely loved the sweet lady that drove the transportation shuttle for appointments. She was always so kind and helpful. I believe she's the same lady that also does the events and the exercises. She was truly wonderful. [name removed] was also super wonderful and could always find the answers we needed day or night! She was so valuable to us during my dad's stay at Grandview.

May 27, 2022Andra, thank you very much for your kind words about our community and staff. It was an honor to care for your Dad here at The Grandview of Chisholm Trail. Please let us know if we can assist you and your family in any way.
My father was there, and he had the best care, he was treated like royalty the entire time he was there. It started with [name removed], she stayed late to help us get all the paperwork completed so we could get him admitted in the short time we presented her with. [name removed] treated my father like a king anytime she would transport him to one of his appointments. [name removed] was always helping us along the way, even the maintenance man, [name removed] was kind to us, they were always quick to respond with the best solution and doing whatever was necessary to make Grandview the best place to be. Everyone there, residents included loved the food, appreciated the staff, it was always a pleasant treat to stay and eat with him as we spoke with other residence that really loved this place. There were so many other employees that were there that always went above and beyond. It was a blessing that we found this place.

Response from The Grandview of Chisholm Trail
May 20, 2022Vanessa, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such kind words about our community and staff. We feel honored that you chose The Grandview of Chisholm Trail for your Father. He was a valued part of our community. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you and your family.
Pretty facility but that’s all. Resident care, passion isn’t there. Organization and management in all phases doesn’t exist beginning with meals and medication dispensing. Executive Director can quote protocols BUT protocols aren’t followed. She takes your words out of context when voicing a concern to point the problem back at you. Staff isn’t trained with a tremendous turnover. Staff is spread too thin performing too many varied tasks with poor results. Administrative phone calls will not be returned. Grandview did not enforce the leash requirement for dogs. Admin depends on residents to have a short term memory problem so they can say, “you don’t remember.” I personally don’t appreciate the condescending attitude. Beware they sell you a pretty package but don’t expect it to actually happen. Laundry will be lost, room cleaning isn’t regular. The disappointment goes on and on. They simply are not up and running with a first time director who just isn’t equipped.

They did have some turnover of staff members which was really the only issue we had. The staff members were always very friendly. They did a great job with activities for the residents. I would recommend The Grandview of Chisolm Trail to other families looking.

My loved one was in The Cottage (memory care). While the majority of the staff was good, [name removed] who provided activities was awesome! However, the upper admin/management do not know how to run the facility. They need to train the staff on how to take care of residents with dementia. They need to make sure all the cameras are in working order. They do not make it easy on the family members. There should be a no cell phone policy while working. I got tired of seeing staff on facebook. Glad we found a much better place that has experience with dementia and work with the residents, instead of against. Also, they talk about chef prepared meals. There were many "chefs" that quit while our loved one was there. Not to mention eating on styrofoam. We understand with COVID, but this was ongoing. Getting things in order start with the management. It shouldn't be that difficult. People are in positions that know nothing about memory care or how to handle staff.

This was the facility I liked the most out of the many that we toured, I wish my mom would have moved here. It was brand new when we were touring and it seemed like they provided a ton of activites, especially in memory care. We also liked that it is faith based.
