The Devon has been a real home for my mother for the past 14 months and I couldn't ask for a better staff. From the moment you walk into the facility, to the time you leave, you are graced with smiles and kind words. My mother was nervous first moving in as anyone would be but the staff encouraged her to involve herself in activities and it wasn't long before she made new friends and had an extended family in the residents and staff members. It is a convenient beautiful campus and it felt more like someone's home and not like a facility. Staff is very friendly and many of the staff we still see there even after a year, so minimal turnover with key employees.

Some staff members are better than others. If you happen to get a care giver you don't like for any reason, you should know to ask for leadership to switch the staff person to another caregiver. That worked really well for us as there was a caregiver who my mother in law thought was too rough. We complained and they switched people with no problem. The place is quite nice compared to many other similar facilities: it's really nice that it's in an old stone building that was purpose built as a care facility. The entertainment spaces are lovely. The chapel is unique amongst peer institutions (although [name removed] did not use it).

Good baseline facility. Offers 24 hour nursing response. in one case, our family member senior, we staying for a short time, was left unattended, even though he called for help in the room in the evening, raising a question of consistent response. Food is Acceptable but not upscale, featuring a half shot glass at cocktail hours, and typically white bread open face turkey sandwich, or sloppy Sam's.

It just seemed understaffed The permanent staff was nice but there were a lot of temps who I really didn't know And they couldn't know my mom They weren't there often. Mom declined immediately and was dead in four months.

I'm not sure if I would or would not recommend The Devon. It was very expensive, so I expected a lot better care overall. However, there were many things that I liked about the facility and some of the staff members. If they could make some improvements in the necessary areas, I think it could be a much better experience for people.

Really appreciated the flexibility with a time-sensitive respite experience! Room size and location near the dining room was great! Furnishings and niceties (like a clock, coffee machine, tissues) were minimal. Fortunately, we could supplement for his stay. Really nice to have the kitchenette!

We had a very positive experience with the facility. The staff has been very helpful and attentive as we transitioned my mom into her residence. They all know her name and engage with her. Answered many many questions and were transparent with us. There was even a transition of the residence 's head site director that was of zero impact to us from an administrative level. My mom has had no complaints or issues. And I don't feel like the staff is there just for the paycheck. Educated caring people are there because they want to be there.

We're thrilled to know that your mom feels so comfortable here as we love knowing she now calls The Devon her home.
The place is a wonderful, purpose-built care facility, with lists of original old-world character. The move-in process was perfect and seamless. Housekeeping: no complaints what so ever. They may be a little slow to respond to "fix-it" items. I think the dining services are really pretty good, also. Staff (and staffing) have been a little uneven. The new Executive Director seems very nice and attentive, but for some reason the previous person who was there when we interviewed them left in a hush. Reception, Activity, Food, and Nursing staff are all fine. The only complaint at the moment is the regular care staff are not consistent and a couple of them generally blah in attitude. Communication is NOT their strong suit. We find that we have to seek out staff to hear things like whether a test was performed. Overall, we recommend the place but each resident is better served if their family visit often and advocate for their loved ones.

The actual facility was in a nice area & the building was nice. The communication was decent. The staff was very friendly, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the day to day care.I would recommend Devon senior living to a friend. However, there are definitely some things I would do differently and monitor specific things more closely. This was my first experience with having a loved one in a facility, so I learned a lot.

We toured The Devon Senior Living and it was a great tour! The facility was very nice. The cleanliness and friendliness were great, definitely a 5 rating. The only downfall was the pricing, we were looking for something that was all inclusive.

They were great. When my loved one went into hospice, I was told that there would be hourly checks, and they could have been more proactive checking on my loved one. They were always responsive and available. My loved one was there a short peiod of time, so she did not participate in activites. It was reasonably priced, and afforable. My loved one had a nice room, and they were friendly.

My loved one and family loved our experience with The Devon. My loved one was able to fit in quickly with other residents. The staff were able to assist in reminding my loved one of different activities and meals. In addition, the staff were good at watching over my loved one and still allowing my loved one to have their own independence. My loved one was able to have their own apartment and it felt more like home living for them. The community was able to make accommodations to the room to my loved one. The residents were amazing! They made our loved one felt very welcomed quickly. The residents and staff didn't want my loved one to leave. The staff would address my loved one by their first name. This was a wonderful short stay for my loved one and we would choose The Devon again. The staff made the family and our loved one part of their family quickly and communication with the family was good.

I toured the community recently, the history of the building is really neat, the rooms were not like what I saw at other places i think because the building is so old every room seems to be different. The memory unit was really nice, the residents were engaged and doing exercise when i was there. It felt like home, the staff all said hello and introduced themselves, the residents were also friendly.

For my loved one, Devon turned out to be the perfect fit. The nursing staff was very supportive, personable, and caring. The administrative team was very accessible, responsive, and committed. The food improved when they brought in a new chef. The setting and facility has a very refined Main Line Philadelphia feel to it. From my viewpoint residents are treated with respect and dignity. We are very appreciative and grateful of the support they gave my loved one after their accident. My understanding is new management is planning on improving facility keeping its historical charm while modernizing and upgrading the facility. More attention to adding more outside events and trips now that pandemic is over would be suggested. Otherwise, in-house activities are varied and diverse. Facility can use upgrading

I toured The Devon Senior Living and it would have been our other choice, because it's close and within a ten minute drive. It was very nice; we took the tour and had no problem, but when I called after the tour to discuss prices and no one ever called me back. So that sort of phished me towards other community. The Devon had very nice people who seemed very caring.

My mother spent several months at The Devon before her passing. She had serious health issues and required constant attention. The staff provided top quality treatment and communicated with me regularly about her status. I visited frequently and interacted with other residents all of whom seemed happy and well adjusted. The Devon is a smaller, noninstitutional living facility that feels very "homey." It is a great alternative to some of the larger places in the area.
