Value is a tough one. Tapestry is costly but it is nice. As you know, the level of care determines the monthly cost. My mother likes it very much. The food choices and quality could be better, she tells me. The facility is bright & airy. The activities are many. The staff is very kind, willing to help.

Overall my experience with Tapestry was positive. During my mother's stay was well taken care of. I wanted to take the opportunity to recognize 3 exceptional people that I interfaced with while my mother stayed at this community. [name removed] Executive Director, [name removed], Resident Services Director, and [name removed], Business Office Director. All three of these people were knowledgeable, friendly, sympathetic, empathetic, and timely will all their communications and responses to my particular needs. In addition, the staff from aides to med techs did a wonderful job of taking care of my mother with genuine and sincere caring. Thank you for all you did for my mother, me, and my family.

So far, our experience with Tapestry Senior Living Moon Township has been very good. My loved one has one of her cats with her. They are like every other senior living facility, in that they are understaffed. We ended up hiring our own caregiver for 3 days a week. The place is comfortable for her, she has things to do, she likes the food, etc. We really haven't had any problems. What makes it nicer is the place is so open and bright.

Some aides are better than others. The nurses didn't seem to be involved in direct patient care. Mostly office and management liaison with MD. The food is great and the wait staff learned our names really quickly. It's bright and cheery with lots of activities.

May 13, 2024Thank you for your kind and honest comments and review. We are pleased to hear that you have had a positive experience with our community. We appreciate the feedback. It helps us to bring about effective change when/where needed.
It's a beautiful facility. The apts are small but nice. The food service is good in that you may eat any time you want & order from a menu. My brother sometimes doesn't like some of the "dishes" ( he's a very plain eater). The people are nice. It's not full yet so there isn't always a lot of people around, although a community senior center does meet there daily and residents may join them They have a doctor onsite regularly, making health checks easy. Medication assistance is available at an extra cost, but it's valuable because my brother was not consistent taking his meds. It is a pleasant place.

February 26, 2024Thank you for your positive comments regarding Tapestry Senior Living Moon Township. Your review is appreciated. We strive to create a warm and inviting environment for our residents to make home. It sounds like your brother has done just that...made it home.
What our family likes the most about the Tapestry Senior Living Moon Township is the facility itself - it is very clean and safe. The staff members that work there are also professional. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend this community to other families.

January 4, 2024Thank you for the very positive review and comments. The team at Tapestry Moon Township puts a lot of effort into providing a wonderful, friendly, warm, safe, and fun environment for the residents. We are pleased that you are having that experience. Thank you for trusting us with the care of your loved one.
The community table never clean, floor in apartment needs soap not just water, but when house keeping is called they do come. If the aids would go into the apartments and see what is needed the place would be cleaner. Some staff is nice some are sleeping in a chair somewhere in the common area. Employee turnover is the biggest problem. They never get to know anyone well enough. Staff needs to pay closer attention to our loved ones. Getting off their cell phones would help too. Food is not very good and Tennant's don't know enough to request other food than what is served. The activities that I've seen agave been pretty good but not frequent enough. I have nothing to compare Tapestry to when it comes to the value for cost

October 31, 2023Thank you for your comments, both good and not-so-good. It helps us to know where we need to improve. It is encouraged that you continue to bring any concerns to our attention in order for improvements to be made. Please reach out to any department director and the executive director for assistance. We appreciate your involvement and advocacy for your loved one.
The friendliness of the staff is varied widely. Too hard to rate overall. Some were awful and some were all you could ask for. Things at Tapestry all depended upon who was working. Some sat and stared into their phone while ignoring the residents. Others were truly caring and conscientious. My mom had severe dementia so she couldn't participate in a lot of activities but the activities director found things that she could do.

August 22, 2023Thank you for your comments. We are constantly striving to provide a good quality of life for our residents. It is great to hear that your mom was able to engage in activities. [name removed] does a wonderful job with including and engaging residents in memory care. We will take your comments and look for ways to improve our policies, procedures, and customer experience. Thank you for being part of the Tapestry Moon Township family.
As far as activities, Tapestry needs to respond better to those with special needs, such as hard of hearing (which is common in the Senior Living Community). For instance, Bingo is held without a bingo board (to display numbers called for those hard of hearing). The rent is rather high but the facility & care givers & staff are top notch. Dining is a bit bland & uninventive. Not a lot to choose from for those who don't eat red meat or chicken. This needs improvement. Many fun activities & usually scheduled daily. My mom really likes it there. I wish she'd participate in activities more often but that's no fault of the facility. She does not eat much red meat & no chicken so meals are sometimes unattractive to her. She can't eat perogie or pizza every day without tiring of it!

June 29, 2023Thank you for your positive review and comments. We appreciate that you trust us to care for your mother. We will continue to do so with good intent and kindness. Your comments will be passed on to the community directors. I would encourage you to speak with the Executive Director and the Dining Services Director. We should be able to add and offer additional options for your mother. Again, thank you for your support of this beautiful community.
My loved one is currently a resident at Tapestry Senior Living Moon Township and we have had several issues at this facility. The cleanliness hasn't been good. We do the cleaning and until recently, the showering/grooming on most days. We change the bedding, clean the bathroom, and have to request other things to be done. As far as the friendliness, some of the staff are great and very nice to my loved one. Others try to get away with doing very little. We never see the upper level staff unless we initiate it. The Head Manager is not nice, which is also the same feeling expressed by others here, and has a low knowledge level with healthcare. For quality of care, it took over a year to have the correct care provided to our loved one. The food, our loved one has no complaints on, except that the portions aren't enough. We encourage our loved one to ask for more, but our loved one does not. My loved one doesn't participate in the activities. There is minimal value for the money at this facility. I would like to move my loved one, but do not because of my loved one's age and also do not want to change surroundings/add to my loved one's confusion. Instead, one of our family members goes to the facility EVERYDAY. My complaints about this facility are the norm, not the exception.

June 29, 2023Thank you for bringing up your concerns. We encourage you to bring those concerns and any others to the Executive Director and Resident Services Director. While your comments do state that you are not family, please be aware that there is limited information that can be shared with you regarding your loved one. We are committed to constantly and consistently improving our care, food program and activities for our residents. They deserve nothing but the best.
This place was terrible. My mother was there for memory care. She was not checked on in the morning and often missed breakfast. She would be left with her diaper overflowing, so much that she soaked the bed. The clothing that we brought in for her, that was labeled would disappear. The bedding that we provided would also disappear. The day that we decided that she had to be removed immediately, there was a three foot long rip in the sheet on her bed. There was no mattress pad, the bedding was all wet. My mother was always in a terrible mood but the very day that we moved her, she was as happy as could be. She smiled, suddenly remembered people, would sing all the time. We wondered if they were actually giving her her medication. I would not recommend this location to anyone!! Staff turn over was incredible high. No one would continue there for more than a month or two!

February 3, 2023Thank you for your feedback and opinions. We have made quite a few changes to our clinical staff, life enrichment programming, and employee retention plans in the past few months. What you express as your experience is unfortunate. We continue to make improvements in order to create a wonderful environment for our residents. Our latest resident survey shows that our adjustments are making a positive impact with customer satisfaction. We wish you well as you navigate a horrendous disease with a loved one.
The sales pitch was amazing, but what they pitched was not provided at all. My dad was completely healthy and independent when he moved into this facility. When that changed and he needed help/assistance, it just didn't happen. The outdoor/garden area was very nice and dad loved being outside. When he was no longer able to go out on his own and needed assistance to do so, they never helped him go outside. They told us they would, but they did not. They just didn't have enough help here, period. Staff turnover was ridiculous, the staff didn't last. I can understand why, it's just terrible. It was hard to see him in this environment. He often wore the same clothes, sometimes stained with food, for days in a row. I'm not talking a spill from lunchtime earlier that day, it was obvious that his clothes weren't changed for days. There were NO activities. The activities were one of the main reasons we chose this place, but what was promised never happened. We didn't expect anything extraordinary, just what we were sold and told would be provided. But none of it happened. I called at least twice a week to discuss complaints and issues, but changes were never made. We asked for 2 things for dad: for him to be safe and for him to have activities. And they failed at both. Towards the end, we were looking at moving him to another facility or bringing him home with a full time caretaker, but he passed before we could do that. The hardest part was, being a Memory Care patient, he was content. He didn't realize all of these unacceptable things. Which means he wasn't able to communicate them to us, but it became evident over time that things weren't right or being done right. Which, part of me is glad that he didn't realize it. But it was hard to see and I feel like I failed him. To this day, if I drive by this place on my way to somewhere, I see it and I get a sick to my stomach feeling about the whole experience. Not only was our experience here horrible, but I spoke to so many other residents and families who felt the same way. I never actually heard anything good from anyone here. I would never recommend them to friends and family.

December 15, 2022Thank you for your feedback. First, please allow us to extend our condolences to you and your family on your loss. You have experienced two great losses, the first is the slow goodbye of the dementia disease and the other is the physical loss of your father. Second, we want you to know that we have made quite a few changes to our clinical staff, life enrichment programming, and employee retention plans since your experience. Your experience is unfortunate, and we are doing everything possible to create a wonderful environment for our residents and their families. Our latest resident survey shows that our adjustments are making a positive impact with customer satisfaction. We wish this was something you could have experienced. We wish you well as you grieve this great loss and may your father rest in peace.
Admissions are highly efficient and easy. Sincere, friendly staff from admissions level throughout including care, dining and cleaning staff. Very clean, comfortable and warm facility. Highly recommended.

February 3, 2023Thank you for your very nice review. We strive to make a positive environment for our residents.
We had a nice tour, and I thought it was a very nice place. It just wasn’t quite what we were looking for. The rooms were small (because the building is a converted hotel). And our our loved one would have had to go up and down elevators and walk a distance to get to meals. It just wasn't the right fit.
Response from Tapestry Senior Living Moon Township
February 3, 2023Thank you for the kind review. We wish you well in finding the right fit for your loved one.
We did not actually tour Tapestry because we had decided on another facility already. Even though we did not tour the actual facility, I was VERY impressed with the staff. They were so kind and great about following up with us. Even after we had told them that we had decided on another place, they still call to check in on my loved one and see how she is doing. Even though the location was far, I would have made the drive because it seemed like a great place.
It seems to be a converted embassy suites. Didn't get to see everything due to covid. Everyone was nice and the room was nice but the location was the main issue. Not close enough to family.
We chose Tapestry Senior Living because of the convenience of the facility to where she lived so she was used to all of the surroundings. The staff are always there when you need them. The medical staff has been on the ball with her from day one, that has been very convenient and helpful to have. They have many activities provided and she really enjoys participating in them. I would definitely recommend to other families.

This community is not organized. I know that it is hard right now due to the pandemic and I know that they are trying to make changes but it is not organized. They need more employees. We put my loved one here expecting more activities and they do not have many activities at all going on. The people that take care of them day in and day out they are great and take good care of my loved one. But its just one person doesn't know what the other is doing. they need more staff, they recently just hired a new activity director and a new food services person and they are getting settled in. This is a beautiful and clean community but we had some issues in the beginning and things are still trying to settle, things are getting better.
