My initial experience with Apple Blossom was good . They were very attentive, listened to my concerns and needs first my relative. The aides and attendants are pleasant and helpful. If there is something my relative needs they call and let me know. They also extend kindness as well as assisting my relative with her needs. The administration staff is not so good at returning my calls. I have to call several times and be lucky to catch one of them to discuss my concerns/questions. One thing that I was not happy with was having to move my relative my self from one floor to the other. Luckily, an aide retrieved a dolly for me to move the furniture myself. I didn't mind moving personal items but I thought the few pieces of furniture should have been moved for me. Apple Blossom was very good in getting furniture moved into the first room but couldn't move it to another room!... Read more

For the cleanliness, they need to work on cleaning the carpeting in the building. For the activities, they could work on thinking of more activities for the residents.

I told the director that we were leaving. The secretary when I mentioned our departure to her is the one who told me to write it, a trick to get 2 more weeks from the director? That sounded like it!

My daughter did most of the legwork in finding Apple Blossom. They were great! I wish he'd had more time to explore it. Everything was wonderful.

Staff is very attentive to the residents. I feel that my dad gets checked in on multiple times a day which is so important since he's pretty much room bound. They need a more varied menu and better execution.

Seamless transition from four bedroom house he built himself to one bedroom apartment! Couldn’t ask for a better person to help us get all this started than [name removed]. You’ll love her! Dad is making new friends all over the place and lots of opportunities for socialization. The first two months the food was mediocre because they lost their chef but recently they hired a new one and food is fantastic and well balanced! Dad doesn’t even feel homesick!! He especially loves the morning “coffee klatch!” So glad we picked Apple Blossom!

ALL 5!!! Fabulous The staff treats the residents with love and compassion as they would a member of their own family. The residents are allowed to be themselves and are not confined to walkers; wheelchairs, or beds.. They have their own rooms and they are open to the residents anytime they want. The food is delicious and they can pretty much have whatever they want whenever they want. The biggest thing for me was that my husband could walk around anywhere anytime and was not confined to a wheelchair stuck in front of a tv 24/7.

Response from Apple Blossom
October 11, 2023Thank you for your kind words, Jean! We are so happy that you' are pleased with the care and services we're providing for your husband. It's an honor to be of service. We are truly one big family at Apple Blossom!
Apple Blossom was a nice place. The girl who showed me around was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I did like that memory care is in a separate building. It was more expensive and the location for me was not as easy to get to. I had also heard talk that it might be going under, so those were the reasons we did not choose this facility.
The cleanliness of the community gets a 5+. It is a beautiful facility and well designed for senior care. There are no off-putting odors, which was extremely important to us. It is very expensive even for the most basic level of care.

It sounded wonderful when we first moved in. But there has been a lot of staff turnover, especially with the kitchen. They are all very nice, but there's lot of coming and going. They don't have enough staff to check on us often. We are fed very starchy meals, and chicken almost every day. There are not many activities, nor does it seem like there are many residents interested in doing them. It's just not what I expected it to be and expensive for what we're getting. They're also increasing the price 14% for cost of living and not really making any effort to make it better for us. I do like that they have memory care if needed down the road, and that appears to be a little bit better staffed.

The care services, I am not impressed with. There is a turnover in staff. The food is pretty good. My loved one does not participate in the activities. I am getting far less, than what I am paying. Everything needs to improve. There was an incident, in which the toliet was plugged, so it took two days for someone to inform maintenance of what was going on, and I was very unimpressed.

We did not actually tour Apple Blossom because we had decided on another facility already. Even though we did not tour the actual facility, I was VERY impressed with the staff. They were so kind and great about following up with us. Even after we had told them that we had decided on another place, they still call to check in on my loved one and see how she is doing. Even though the location was far, I would have made the drive because it seemed like a great place.
The staff is very friendly and are wiling to hear what you have to say. They say they will make changes per your requests, but if you don't stay on top of them, things won't change. My loved one has minimal care requirements, and six months later, we're still asking for those few things to happen. There seems to be no routine in place. I recognize they're experiencing staff turnover, but they have iPads they use that contain all of the resident information, and somewhere along the line that information is not being utilized depending on who is providing care. They've lost their cleaning staff, so for a month we had to do it ourselves, even though we were still paying full price. Their chef has left several times, which has made the quality of the meals go downhill. Our loved one has been missing many of the meals, so its seems they're not reminding him to go to meals. I'm not sure what the issue is that they can't seem to keep staff. He had also take a fall there, and we were not even notified. A doctor is supposed to be on staff, and when we've asked about simple routine medical things, they told us they can't do them and told us to go elsewhere to have them done. So even the basics don't seem to be happening here.

Overall, I'm happy with the experience. I think it's a very clean facility and a nice place. But they've gone through several different administration changes, so things are changing quite rapidly. With food and service, they've gone through a few different companies. The main component that is lacking is communication. Everything has been fantastic other than the communication - which I would rate that at about a 2 currently. For anyone's parents who are older and cannot voice for themselves, that would be a concern. For instance, they left me a message that there was an incident when my loved one was stuck in an elevator. But when I called them back several times, I couldn't get anyone to call me back to let me know what was going on after that. Fortunately, my loved one was able to tell me about it later. With all the staff changes, I'm not sure if that occurred under the new team or the old team. But overall, it's a beautiful facility and kept very clean. It always seems to be a nice and calming environment. Communication is just lacking.

We chose Apple Blossom because once I was there and walked in, I immediately felt like it was going to be a good fit. It did not feel institutional at all and everyone was so friendly and positive - we got a really good vibe. The staff do communicate really well if anything is going on, they always reach out whether it be by phone, text or email. They are super attentive to him and make sure that I am always in the loop as well. We would absolutely recommend Apple Blossom to others.

This community was nice but your loved one is assessed based off of points and as the needs increase the fees increase also. This makes you have to pay close attention to what all of the needs are to make sure that they are able to truly care for your loved one as the needs increase. The tour was nice.

We had a great tour experience with Apple Blossom. The facility itself was very nice and so were all the staff we had interaction with. The downfall was the cost and the location. We wanted to keep mom close to where she lived previously so her surroundings would not change and she would know how to get around.

June 14, 2022Thank you for the feedback. We hope you were able to find a community that better fits your loved ones needs.
We chose Apple Blossom because it just felt like a more homey environment and it was not as big as the other places we looked at so it did not intimate my dad. The facility is newer which also swayed our decision. The meals are great and they are chef prepared. All in all, our experience has been great. He is on the memory care side and he gets a lot of attention. They have a great staff to resident ratio. I would definitely recommend to others looking.

This is where I want to go when I retire. I walked in and it felt very warm and homey. All the residents that we met are very nice. The food is very good, and it tasted like we were eating in a five star restaurant.

A Place for Mom has scored Apple Blossom 9.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
