Holiday Oxmoor is now story point Louisville East the name change hasn’t changed too much yet. I’ve been here now for for about 2 1/2 months, my experience so far has been that the people are very nice. The staff is very nice. The residence are very nice making a few friends story has changed a few things but basically for the best better the menu has changed a little bit, but they’re still serving three nice meals a day, I moved from a house with 3500 ft.² to a room with 500 ft.² gradually adjusting to it but so far everything is going well. I’m doing well.... Read more

The rooms and overall layout of the community look good. The food is bad which is mostly caused by the COVID-19 restrictions, the food is delivered cold. However, we would recommend this community to a family or friend.

I would recommend this Oxmoor Lowery to others for their loved ones. Some of things that stands out to me about this community is their cleanliness, the staff, the activities, and the location of the community is great.

Ive lived there for 6 years and I feel safe and secure. The staff is friendly and helpful: they really care about the residents. I am very happy with my life at Oxmoor Lodge.

Oxmoor Lodge is very cost-effective. They seem to be always hiring staff. The food is okay. I really like the unit we have which is two bedrooms and two baths and a garage. We have a front and back patio.

I agree that you should not allow your loved one to live in this facility. Over the last 4 years, the place has gone downhill. The roof leaks and has tarps on it for over a YEAR. The light fixtures are leaking water which has to be a fire hazard at the very least. I'm sure there is mold since the roof leak has never been repaired. The food is horrible. And now it appears they are not having hot meals or even regualr meals served any more. The staff turnover is very high. Not sure if it's the pay or what the issue is but there is anew manager every time I go visit. They churn the residents, too, which is never a good sign

If you care at all for your loved one do not put them here. My mom has been there four years and it has gone down constantly. Managers change like the weather. Can’t seem to keep staff. Food is horrible. The manager had been the chef the last year!! Cleaning is very poor. They do not care about these old people. My mom fell and they refused to help her up. Said by law they couldn’t touch her. Do not put your loved ones here. It’s so sad.

Response from StoryPoint Louisville East
March 7, 2019Hello, we are sad to read that Oxmoor Lodge did not meet your expectations. You concerns have been shared with regional management. Oxmoor Lodge has been in a transition period and is steadily improving all aspects with help of our regional teams. Due to us being an independent living community our staff is legally not able to help fallen seniors as they are not trained to do so in a way to prevent further injury. Anytime a residents falls and is unable to get themselves up we will call emergency services to ensure safety. If you have additional concerns about your mother living with us please reach out to us directly at [removed] or to Resident Relations at [removed] or [removed].
Facility did not appear or smell clean. Building was in disrepair on the inside.

My mom loves her new apartment, but she has had some problems with the staff. The employee who was to clean her apartment had not done a good job a few times. But even worse, the same employee seems to have stolen money from her - twice! She was afraid to tell the management, but I assured her that it was their job to keep her possessions safe. Admittedly she shouldn't have left a lot of cash and prescription opiates on top of her dresser, but there should have been more careful background checks of employees. The employee was only let go after other residents also found thefts to have occurred. My mom does not eat pork, and she has had difficulty making it clear to the kitchen staff that there should be more alternate protein options when pork is prepared.

We were most impressed with our tour guide. She was very informative and knowledgeable. The rooms and common areas are adequate. It seems like the residents are happy there. It is possibly a fit for our mom.

I toured this facility while looking for a place for my Mother. I really liked this facility and all of the staff members seemed nice. It was really bright and open here and they are even pet-friendly. The person who gave us the tour was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The rooms he showed us were lovely. I would recommend this facility to other families.

I really couldn’t envision my Mother living here. If the Administrator could get anyone to live here, he would get the salesman of the year award. Don’t get me wrong, he was very nice, but the facility needs a lot of help. The place just looked really run down and it’s not the cleanest place I’ve seen. It was just so depressing. I wouldn’t even live here. I couldn’t even imagine putting my mom here. They actually allow smoking in the facility and I’m still dumbfounded by that. There are elderly people in this facility that are on oxygen and that is a huge safety hazard. The apartment they showed us was recently renovated and it reeked of smoke. I couldn’t even believe it. The only thing I could say that was decent is the meal we had there. It was adequate. I couldn’t leave fast enough. I do not recommend this facility.

I had two other communities to pick from after having a tour and getting the experience with them. I felt they were able to help assist but were more for independent residents and my loved one had limitations.

In touring this community i found it was similar to other ones we had been at and liked. However, as we were walking around I noticed that everything seemed to be a little outdated and the community could use a refurbish. The member of the staff that provided the tour was very nice and provided us with a lot of information

I have recently had a tour of this community for my mother and I have no complaints of how things had went. The staff where on time to our tour and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. It was just not the right fit in the end decision. I would recommend it to anyone though.

This is a top notch community and they have a lot of different amenities for their residents to take part in along with a nice dining room and I hear the food is really good here. The problem is we can't seem to get my mother to leave her apartment and to start taking part in any of it. She insists on eating in her apartment and watching her TV. We are working on her to try and change that.

The salesperson was nice and helpful in the beginning, however once were ready to move in they were not as helpful. The food is not the best. They do offer daily activities and the community is clean. I would most likely recommend this community.
