Everything so far has been great. Great overall experience, perfect size place and not too fancy for mom's taste. Everything seems clean as far as I can tell. Staff is friendly to mom and the family. Mom seems well taken care of and happy. Mom never is late or misses a meal, or complains. Mom is very active at Southview! Loves bingo, balloon volleyball and drumming. And I love the LifeLoop app so I can see how active she is during the week. I feel like we are getting a great value for the cost!... Read more

I can not get information on my aunt's health. I also would like more information on her bill. They add fees without notice. I would recommend this place for someone in good health that can take care of themselves. They are clean with good food and a great deal of activities for mobile people.

Response from Southview Assisted Living and Memory Care
July 3, 2024Hi Customer, we’re thrilled to get this kind of feedback. Thank you for taking the time to review us. Have a great day!
Overall it is a good place for my mother since she is still fairly independent. When she moves to the next level of care I will be curious about the services. She is comfortable and safe there and she is frequently checked on. She complains about the food but they have regular food meetings and are receptive to criticism and so try to make changes. It is very helpful to have the gym and physical therapists on site--this keeps her active and moving and she is very fond of the therapists. Overall Southview is good at keeping me informed of what is going on and I have been pleased. I am very involved with helping my mother but I know that if I have to leave town for vacation that she will be well taken care of --I don't have to worry or be anxious.

June 20, 2024Hi AD, we are happy to hear about your good experience. We appreciate the positive feedback. We hope you have a great day!
As with anywhere you go, you need to be there and followup on the care. We have had trouble with mom getting her showers. We keep up with that and still have trouble at times. We did install a camera so we can see more what's going on in her room. I really like the amount of activities they provide.

March 20, 2024Hi Lisa, that’s wonderful to hear. Thanks so much for leaving us a review. Have a wonderful day!
The facility is fresh and lovely but it is owned by a for-profit company and that usually means it is focused on income and not resident well being. The staff in memory care is not well trained for dementia residents. They lack the skills needed to engage them socially. Families need to watch the room and interactions. I saw staff to staff and residents to residents or residents to no one. Training is not a strength of for profit

I like everything about Southview, but I don't live there. I'm there at least 4 times a week to visit my friend. She complains about the staff that dispenses her medication. I'm not sure if the criticisms are warranted. It seems to me that the residents are comfortable. Those that I engage with seem happy. So, I don't feel qualified to give specific evaluations, but I'll tell you this: when I need Assisted Living, I'll apply to Southview.

January 26, 2024Hi Barb, we are happy to hear about your good experience. We appreciate the positive feedback. We hope you have a great day!
With the care services - we had trouble getting medication on a timely basis. This is one reason [name removed] should be in a facility so she can get her medicine correctly and on time. For the meals, [name removed] says the food is awful. Usually cold. When it comes to the activities, there are A lot that are cancelled because of staff shortage. We would recommend this community to other families.

We picked this community because, of the location, services and amenities offered and size of the rooms. They are very supportive and attentive. I feel very confident that my mom is in a safe and supportive place. I am never worried about her and although she is still adjusting to living there also feels safe there.I would recommend it.

Response from Southview Assisted Living and Memory Care
August 2, 2023Hi Andrea, we’re thrilled to get this kind of feedback. Thank you for taking the time to review us. Have a great day!
It is a beautiful facility, but the care may not be what you are fully needing. Make sure to ask any/all questions prior to putting your loved one here. If your loved one is independent and needs no assistance, this could be your place, but if you are needing assistance, beware!! This facility is understaffed and has a high turnover rate. When bringing concerns to management and to corporate, just know that there may be a blind eye and corporate will always send you back to the facility without hearing your concerns.

We had 3 days to find my mother in law an assisted living facility. [name removed] made it happen. Her tireless effort is why my mother in law is there. The apartment is spacious, the staff are friendly and competent, and the facility is incredibly homey. There is no corporate feeling and it doesn't look like a preschool inside like other places do. 10/10, 5 stars, and 2 thumbs up.

When it comes to the meals and dining services we have no opinion but the contract says the guest can purchase food but covid has changed that). The staff has always been nice, one particular caregiver works very hard. Others have been seen sitting on their smartphones. If they are on break, they need to go to break room. That's not a good look.

Response from Southview Assisted Living and Memory Care
March 2, 2023Hi Nancy, Thank you for taking the time out of your day to review Southview Assisted Living & Memory Care. We are thrilled to hear about your positive experience with our staff. We hope you have a great day!
We toured this facility and we liked it. It was a great place, we actually loved it. Very clean, everyone was friendly. It was just more expensive than we were looking for or able to do.
My mom lived here for less than four months. She was visually disabled and money was stolen from her room on more than one occasion. Laundry was not done on a regular basis, sometimes she was not dressed before 11:00, and dosages were not correct after they took over her meds. These were just some things that we were paying extra to have done for her. Finally when she left we were told that we wouldn't get much money back after the thirty day notice because of apartment damages. We took pictures of every wall and there was no damage when she left. They have no proof of any repairs. Be aware that you pay full price for a month after leaving, including services that cannot be rendered like bathing, dressing, and meds. Finally mom fell due to a lack of oxygen from double pneumonia. No one there discovered she was sick until she went to the hospital after the fall. Mom did not go back to this facility.

This felt cold and they didn't have friendly staff. They had small rooms. It was more expensive for what you would receive for us.
Our family had an in person tour and the tour was fine, the staff seemed to be fine, but it did not feel that it was the best for our mom at the time.
The quality of care is fantastic and they always get to my mom when they can. Because of covid they are short staffed, so sometimes it is not as fast as we hope, but I know if they were staffed properly it would be amazing. They have plenty of activities provided and the residents seem to love them. The medications are pretty pricey, she only takes 1 pill and it costs around [amount removed]. Overall the value for the money is great, it is worth it for the peace of mind that we get having her here. Everything about this place is fantastic and we would highly recommend them to other families without a question.

My mother has a great network of friends and staff at this facility. We call it the resort because it’s like vacation to us. Someone is cooking for her, cleaning for her and doing her laundry. She is happy and healthy and we know she is well taken care of. I would recommend this resort to anyone that asked. No place is absolutely perfect. And while we have had a few minor glitches, they are always promptly addressed and taken care of immediately. I couldn’t ask for better.
