Silver Creek was wonderful. Unfortunately my mother stay did not work out with them. She's actually staying in there sister facility of theirs. They we're very helpful. They made the transition for her, very smooth and myself as I live out of state they were very accommodating to me and my mother. I wish she could've stayed there, but unfortunately, under the circumstances of dementia, she was moved to memory care, Bonaventure Lacey.
This building stands out from other assisted livings in the area simply because of the staff. [name removed] and [name removed] do whatever it takes to ensure that residents and family are heard and cared for. I will definitely consider silver Creek when my loved ones are in need of assisted living

I am making this review on behalf of my 89 year old mother who lives at Bonaventure. She had been there 2.5 months. The most common complaint is the food. Cold food, running out of food alot, not enough water glasses. Food not being cooked all the way. The other is not enough activities on the weekends. Short staffed all the time. The front desk performs MANY duties that pulls her/him away from the desk. She also feels the complaints go to deaf ears as the food issue has been on going. She loves her apartment. She has made many friends and during the week she is very busy doing various activities or chatting with friends. The reason I give 3 stars is due to the on going food issues.

Everything was a 5 except the meals - there was a period where Mom was eating alot of eggs because the meals weren't that great - but things seem to be getting better now - the cost is much better than in Maryland and the staff and residents are wonderful!

Silver Creek was a good placement for my grandmother. I was staying with her as it was a hospice placement and our stay was short. I have mixed reviews about our stay. The kitchen was not accommodating to a restricted diet. Which is unbelievable as they are literally making food for a fragile community. The support staff & medical aids were attentive but the facility seemed to lack in supplies that would be commonly needed by elderly residents. If I had not been staying with my grandmother in her declining state I would have been very concerned. However, if she were in her prior active, cognizant state she probably would have been happy & safe there.

I picked this community for my husband because he required a high level of assisted care and they had 2 RN's on staff to create a detailed plan of care and ability to assist with and monitor the care provided by staff. Despite staff shortages and turnover having the 2 RNs to ensure consistent care made all the difference. 'Included' Housekeeping for Assisted Living apartments was inconsistent and sometimes nonexistent. Dining room tables and carpet not always well cleaned between meals. Dining for Assisted Living was poorly serviced and the food grossly lacking in nutrition, preparation, taste, and variety. During the time my husband was there there was also a high turnover in the Executive Director position which undoubtedly impacted operations at all levels across all departments. That situation was poorly handled by Bonaventure. I was with my husband every day and not only witnessed a lot but heard comments and complaints from other residents. One of the positives was my husband's 1 bedroom apartment was nice with big windows and lots of light and space that accommodated his walker and wheelchair with an accessible bathroom and shower. I do have to add my husband passed away a year ago so I can only comment on our experience during that time. I can't speak to what it's like as of today. Maybe staffing and operational improvements have been made. Maybe not. If I had to look for a place today I would proceed with diligence in evaluating all aspects of Silver Creek. They didn't deliver on all they marketed but it was still charged for in the overall cost.

Based on the experience we have had so far with Silver Creek, they could improve on all areas. I went over to visit my brother and he had been sitting in crap for a couple of days. I almost turned them in to ombudsmen's office but my brother likes the place so I didn't

I'm currently a resident at Silver Creek and it's been a good experience. The meals are good. The housekeeping does a great job. The staff is good, also. Friendliness here is great. It's more care than I need or can afford, but things are good at this facility.

It's been a good experience. My mom likes it there. The people are friendly. And that's what matters the most. We have had some accounting/billing issues. I feel they aren't really efficient when it comes to getting bills to the responsible party, and I wish they would use email or fax even. All places have their own issues though, and they've been good overall.

I would tell others not to bring their loved ones to this community. They treated my loved one badly. They only had 2 staff members for three floors. There was a lot of turnover and my loved one didn't get the assistance they needed after pressing the call button. They wouldn't clean the room of my loved one. The community didn't clean my loved one or their bed after . There were no activities. The food was not able to be chosen by my loved one due to health conditions. My loved one didn't get food for a few days because the staff didn't ask what my loved one wanted. We ended up feeding my loved one after a few days of not eating. The office staff wouldn't allow the family to follow up on the care that my loved one was not receiving. They kept cutting my family off when trying to ask questions and explain the situation, and then kicked them out.

This was the nicest community that we looked at. This community was very bright and cheery but did not have the conversion for Medicare that we were looking for.
We were only residents at Silver Creek for a short period of time because my loved one needed more care, but they were very helpful.

I would recommend Silver Creek to others for their loved ones. The Executive Director goes out of her way to make sure everything is taken care of for the residents. She goes above and beyond. There are a lot of activities for the residents. The nursing staff could be improved upon.

This community did not have the medicaid spin down and that was one of the main things that made us not go with this community. Also the lady that was giving us the tour had to get the manager when we wanted to talk about prices and we felt like she should have known the prices. other than this we did like the community a lot.
They have done an outstanding job throughout the pandemic, my mom doesn't even worry anymore, they team there has kept my mom safe and that is what matters the most to me.

One of the things my dad needed due to his size was a lift. The first day there he had to sit in his wheelchair for 4 hours while they trained the staff and we were told that had one and they knew how to use it, and that was not true. As soon as my father passed they wanted to take business and talk about my mom moving rooms. The care staff took great care of my dad and we loved them. They were so nice to him and we really appreciated that. Due to some of the issues, I wouldn't recommend it.

I'm 57 years old and moved into Silver Creek with my mom a year and 10 months ago. I was more than welcome to move in with her, even though I'm not "of retirement age". I'm disabled and have lived with my parents most of my life. We were welcomed to bring my 2 pets, and my mom's cat with us. That was a big deal for me. The meals there are very good. Not too big, or too small. Maintenance is quick and it's done right. The management staff is wonderful! They did more than expected for my mom when she was at her end stage lung cancer and helped to make her comfortable before she went into Hospice. They really went above and beyond, and I will be forever grateful for that. I made many friends and acquaintances there and will go back often just to say hello, to take part in activities or have dinner with the people I know.

My father lived there last year for a few months. We were assured before he moved in that the food was "great". The food was typically disgusting. An example is being served a cold hot dog on a stale bun. The staff never addresses the dining situation despite daily complaints by their clients. My dad is not the complaining type but he wanted to move out of this depressing facility.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
