FYI: Overture is a 55+ community - not assisted living. The manager and activities director have been recently replaced. We're waiting to see how the replacements work out. There are numerous activities offered; mostly resident lead. Essentially a person can be as busy as as they'd like. However there are few activities organized by management.

This is a good facility but it is strictly independent living. There are activities such as games and outings if you are able to move freely. It depends on what you need. The Overture is nice but there are times when I would like to have a prepared meal once a day. Also it would be nice to have someone on call at night. Since my husband died a year ago, I find myself needing someone to call on. Other places I have looked at are higher in cost.

Overture Cary has excellent proximity to grocery shopping, restaurants, and medical facilities. You can be as involved as you want to be, and there are a lot of resident-led activities. The worry of taking care of our own place is gone. You don't have to take care of a roof or an air conditioner like you do with home ownership. The hallways are always clean, and we clean our apartment ourselves. They offer different sizes of apartments, priced according to size, so you get what you pay for. When you move into a place like this, keep in mind you really have to downsize. But overall it has been great, and we wish we would have done it sooner!

The main deciding factor for us when picking Overture Cary is that it is only independent living and 55+. There is no meals and dining here but there are a few activities included in the monthly rent and we would recommend Overture Cary to other families.

Its a wonderful 55 and older community staff is great. You have to see it to appreciate it. Good amenities The water bill is on same rent notice when I first moved in the water didn't appear to start at zero the bill included water that was used by the building prior to me moving in. They are giving me a monthly credit to resolve the issue of usage prior to me moving in. Other than that all has been well.

This is the best thing I ever did. It feels like living in a resort. There is always something to do, and someone to interact with at the community. The people are very, very nice. The community picks the garbage up from outside your door. There is a happy hour weekly with appetizers. They even have a monthly tenants meeting to have the community address any questions or concerns. There is secured delivery of amazon and post office packages. Everything is very nice here. They have washer and dryers in the apartments. They have a library, movie theater, and more for the residents to utilize.

I placed my loved one here, and she has been extremely happy with the facility and has greatly enjoyed living here. This is a huge step up in quality of life for her. It's a very nice, pleasant, clean facility. I'm pretty satisfied overall. But I feel like it's fallen a little bit short of the advertising in some ways. The food is less than I was expecting. I was there for breakfast one morning, and it was just some pre-wrapped danishes and drinks where you help yourself out of the fridge. Photographs of the community showed a big enclosed courtyard and a large pool. I paid a premium for an apartment that I thought was going to overlook the courtyard. There is no courtyard, just a little patio that's enclosed on three sides and looks out on the parking lot and looks nowhere close to what I was expecting from the advertisement. Also the pool is very small compared to what was pictured. But in spite of that, compared to other places I saw, the price is okay for what we're getting. She really likes the nature trails and gets out into nature pretty much every day. She was one of the first residents, so more people have been moving in. It seemed like they had more happy hours at first, but people kind of stopped attending, although they still do have a decent schedule of activities going on.

I visited this property a couple of months ago. It was a breath of fresh air. I am extremely excited about moving there in late March or early April. Everyone I met was friendly and knowledgeable.

A Place for Mom has scored Overture Cary 7.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
