One year ago this week I was admitted to NHC for approx 50 days bringing not the best attitude about being there. After a very short time I found my care was of utmost importance to all of those who were there to take care of me. I could not have asked for any better care while being there from the rehab people to the janitors, everyone made me feel as though I was the most important person in the building. I will forever be indebted for the care that put me back into a normal life. Thanks

I’m noticing that many of these 5 star reviews are from people that just visited, not actually stayed or had a loved one stay there. When my brother and I toured this facility we were immensely impressed. It’s new and clean, and the admissions staff talked a really good game. It came highly recommended from several people. After having been there for just a few days, we realized the reality of this place. In a word, it’s atrocious. We were in skilled nursing. There’s nothing skilled about it. A doctor? Not a chance. No one is actually managing care. No one is managing medicine. If you’re a family member trying to help advocate or manage any part of anything for your loved one, your suggestions are ignored and dismissed. Even if they agree, nothing ever happens or changes. If we weren’t there several hours every day, I’m scared to even think what shape my dad would be in. Most of the nursing staff are contracted - meaning it’s someone new all the time. They aren’t employed by NHC. It’s some other company so they have no familiarity with the patients or the system or the facility. One lady couldn’t even print off a list of current meds. We were there almost 3 weeks before the staff realized their patient was blind. Let that sink in. The staff has zero communication between each other. Management is non-existent. They complained to us about his agitation, yet no one tried to figure out the source of it. Once, I quickly realized he was so constipated he needed an enema. That would make me agitated! Before we came there the staff was fully aware of care needs and we were told they could handle it. After a few days, his “agitation” caused them to DEMAND that we have 24/7 sitter service (to the tune of almost $17k per month...yes seventeen thousand dollars) or they’re going to “send him out”. That means they call 911 and they bring him to an ER somewhere. There is no “care” there. Our sitters tell us that many times he doesn’t even get his meds. These contracted people come in and if he’s asleep or if he resists at all, they just walk out. No meds. It looks clean in there but if you wipe the floor, it’s filthy. The food isn’t bad - probably the best thing about this place. NHC has made a traumatic experience for our family exponentially worse. Please do not send your loved on there. I wouldn’t wish this on an enemy.

Horrible place that should not be allowed to pretend to care for elderly people. They don’t care nor have any compassion for the elderly. They bait and switch and lie to get patients. Negligent and send erroneous bills and lie. Horrible experience.

The management doesn’t care about people. Buyer Beware. They make promises and don’t follow through. So sad for our elderly population.

My grandmother was here for about 3 weeks. It was a good experience. It was nice but its in a hospital setting. It was carpeted and clean. The food was fantastic and she loved that we could eat with her in the dining room. The therapist were great and she showed improvement in a short time. I would recommend this place if you need a rehabilitation place.

As a healthcare provider myself I was appalled at the care my family member received at NHC Cool Springs. He was admitted for rehab after a hip fracture and let's just say he came out worse than when he went in. The staff didn't help him out of bed for days (using short staffing as an excuse), didn't make sure he could reach his food when meals were delivered, didn't offer to help him up to the bathroom (because of this he is now incontinent), and didn't turn him in the bed to avoid pressure ulcers. So after 6 weeks of "rehab" he has three pressure ulcers that require him to see a wound specialist. One is a stage 4! NHC in no way met the standard of care. If you have a loved one that truly needs adequate nursing care and rehabilitation... Keep searching! NHC apparently doesn't have enough staff (or standards) to make sure the patients eat, pee, and feet don't rot off.

Things have gone great with NHC Place! It's a beautiful, clean, extremely well kept facility. The staff have all been very professional, communicative, and just a really caring group of people. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for care in the area.

Overall we've been very pleased with how things have gone with NHC Place. The staff have all been very helpful and knowledgeable, and they made Mom's transition to their community very easy. It's a nice looking place, they keep everything looking clean and well kept, and they do a great job taking care of my loved one.

It was full when we were looking, it's nicer. I can't really remember but I beleive the memory care facilty is one I would prefer for my mother to be in. If I'm remembering correctly, the way it was set up was just more pleasant.

Nice facility, but much extremely high prices for smaller apartments than first facility we toured. no laundry appliances in apartments, kitchens & appliances too small.

It's been a long hard battle but she's imporiving now and we're hoping for the best. She's almost 92 and we know she's not going to be what she was before but we're hopeful. The rehab started out slowly but we're very pleased now, we had a little bit of a rough start but we're very pleased with what they're doing now. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that we got there on the weekend and there were just a lot of different circumstances surrounding it. We talked to them about it and now everything is much better.

$3,840 studio per month or $128 per day PLUS $15/day for Level 2 assistance PLUS $9/ day for med adm if less than 7 pills PLUS $33/m laundry TOTALS $4,593 studio per month GOOD - LIKE Kirby Pine in that resident can move in and out of other levels of care (rehab, alzhimer, 24 hr skilled nursing) as needed but at higher cost

Would like to have Mother see this one for sure. It is pricier, but have not had a discussion with the director yet. Our first tour was on the weekend and conducted by social Worker who was very pleasant and showed us around, but did not have the detailed knowledge regarding availability and financial information. the Director and I have played phone tag and I have not had the opportunity to discuss further with her.

Really big and not as personal a feeling to it. Lovely rooms - very expensive. Care is ala carte. Stressed the ability to get to exits by themselves in 13 minutes. They will "escort" residents to meals, activities, but don't push them. Again, they stress they have to get themselves around. Nice menus. One bedroom units available - we would need 1st floor - they thought there was one open.

A Place for Mom has scored NHC Place at Cool Springs 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
