The new mother company who bought the facility, Vitality, does not listen to the families of the residents. Many of us would complain about the staff, the horrific Executive Director [name removed] (who was eventually fired) and they ignored us repeatedly and defended her horrible leadership. They didn't care about the residents. I would never in a million years place my parent in a [company removed] corporation again (there are 2 senior living [company removed], one is good and one bad). What once was a clean facility in the end smelled like urine. There was fecal matter on the floor. The food would rot in the fridge. The caregivers would say they changed the sheets when they didn't. They wouldn't answer the phone. They started out great many years ago, but with the change in leadership all hell broke lose and although we hoped it would improve it didn't. In the end, my dad was too advanced with his Alzheimer's to move him when the situation really went downhill. The original staff was incredible... some of the best we had at any facility. Some of the caregivers over the years were wonderful. The final year we were there was the really difficult one. The residents were great. Many had dementia or Alzheimer's and many didn't. They all cared and it they made it a more positive experience. So it used to be great! However it ended poorly. Unless a new company buys out [company removed] I wouldn't send a dog there.

I think that others should make a list of questions that they might have and be sure that they are asked. Make at least three visits preferably at lunch and dinner. Visit the laundry rooms , community room, speak with residents, and walk the grounds.

Tina and the new team at this facility are above average. I have worked with Tina for over 5 years and has ALWAYS shown compassion concern in the care the residents receive. Families will be glad the trusted their family to such a caring group of people.

I visited Maristone of Franklin last week. I was impressed with this assisted living community. The community has a warm, pleasant inviting environment. The staff were kind and attentive to their residents. The Executive Director, [Name Removed] gave me a tour of the community. [Name Removed] was very friendly, professional and informative about the community. I could tell that [Name Removed] sincerely cares about the senior population and wants the best for her residents! If you're looking for a place to call home, with assisted living assistance or 24 hour memory care staff, Maristone of Franklin is the place to be!

I have a family that remember who I wouldn't trust here with the care of the staff and the cleanest of the facility if I were to relocate as I'm considering in the future. Even the web information is great concerning the kindness of staff members, pictures of patients. I would have no problem having my love one homed in this facility.

The difference in this facility compared to previous Management is astronomical !! As I was visiting the Demeanor of the residents was noticeably much Happier than in the past . The new manager, [name removed], makes sure they know, this is THEIR home and herself and the staff are there to make Certain they FEEL at home ! The facility is beautiful And we'll cared for. The meals are delicious, the Residents participate in daily activities. Live music Is played each Friday for even greater entertainment. I know can rest easily knowing that my Family member is in a facility that goes beyond My expectations!

My loved one was previously a resident at Maristone of Franklin and the overall experience was terrible. I would absolutely not recommend Maristone of Franklin to anyone. Their staff in the memory care unit has no idea how to care for persons with dementia. They do not communicate with the family until the situation escalated. The management told me that their staff was employed by the company, but the ones I met were agency or brand new hires. In the four days my father was there, he had his clothes changed one time. I asked about showering and incontinence care and they said they had completed those tasks. He had one outfit in dirty clothes hamper. He also was filthy when I removed him from the facility.

My mother was at Maristone for 7 years. We saw many changes in management and turnover but the current one 2023-24 has been the worst. Several state investigations this year alone. They let her lay in the floor thru the night after she fell because they do not check on residents for over 12 hours after meds are passed at dinner. This happened twice and I was not notified either time. Director tried to cover it up. Crazy turnover in staff. Seven directors of nursing in one year because of mismanagement. Hallways frequently smell like urine. Food is not good. Nightmare and law suit waiting to happen.

I have found that the services provided are not quite what they were presented. For example, weekly light housekeeping might be done every 10 or 12 days. Weekly laundry, very spotty, again every 10 or 12 days. The food amount provided is rather skimpy, especially in the evening meals. When my mother said that they go to bed hungry, it almost broke my heart.

We toured Maristone of Franklin during our search for a facility for my wife and I. This facility seemed great! The cleanliness was great. I liked the overall atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly. Nice place!
I visited as a Nurse and I was very impressed. The residents were all gathered doing a game together and seemed very happy. The community is clean, no odors, and is welcoming. All the staff are helpful whenever I am in visiting. I met the fairly new Director and she has a number of years experience in managing Assisted Livings and Memory Care and seems dedicated to excellence. They value Veterans as well. The location is great, close to a hospital and clinics.

In retrospect assisted living was not the best place for my mom. She was more acutely ill than we realized and we never really received any kind of true picture of the severity of her illness nor life expectancy. We felt rushed to find a place not knowing her true capabilities I think. We pushed her thinking it was depression and afraid she would just deteriorate not realizing in truth she was really acutely ill and not capable. She was on oxygen which made getting around worse. The whole period several months prior to death was pretty stressful for the family. She wasn't at Maristone long, 3-4 weeks tops. She struggled there the whole time really, just needing more care than anyone realized. So that being said....,

I had a good tour experience with Maristone of Franklin. But when comparing this facility to the one that we ended up choosing, I just felt the other offered much more for the price.
Response from Maristone of Franklin
November 16, 2022Hi, we greatly value your feedback, and we appreciate you sharing your experience with us at Maristone of Franklin!
This facility just got a new Executive Director and is going through changes. I hesitate to give feedback because things could change, but did want to share our experience so far and give feedback about how things are currently. Cleanliness of the overall facility is great, it's kept very clean. Housekeeping and cleanliness of Dad's room could improve. I will say the staff and nursing care overall has been amazing. I can honestly say, some of the staff are really good and have been the saving grace of this facility. However, they've started using agency staff and the more they do the lower the quality has gotten. There are a few regular staff who make all the difference. For example, the chef [name removed]. He is possibly the nicest person on the planet, so sweet and genuine. He's always high fiving the residents and uplifting them. He genuinely cares for the residents here and it shows. He's like Tinkerbell without wings! The food is ok and the activities used to be great but lately haven't been as good. The Activities Director used to really be on top of things, but hasn't been as much lately. They just switched to a new medication management company and the other one was so much better. We've had issues with them, mainly with charting and communication. The previous Executive Director was so accessible and that was a great thing and I loved it. He was great about communicating, texting, and calling. Always open to suggestions. I get the feeling that with the new Executive Director that won't be the case, but I'm not sure yet. The new ED just doesn't seem as pro or super interactive. The previous sales lady [name removed] was amazing. She was like the world's best advocate and would be quick to help resolve any problems. She's been promoted, so we don't have that anymore, but she was amazing. They are reasonably priced, but price and care needs can be tricky. That's something to be aware of. One thing we've had issues with is the resident 'contract' that they set up prior to move in. The contract is made for each individual resident based on their care needs and assistance level needed and is priced separately. Dad's contract included shower assistance/more showers, being checked on every 2 hours, and having assistance getting to and from dining. Those things never happened. I discussed it with them and asked about it. They ended up changing his contract and care/assistance needs to less. I think they did it because they didn't want to provide the extra care/assistance and not because he didn't need it. So that's been frustrating. There's a common area for the residents upstairs, but not downstairs where they spend most of their time. That's something I wish they would change. Overall, I don't mean to be completely negative. This place isn't terrible. We've just had some issues that I hope will improve and get worked out.

This community has an on staff doctor for the residents to use. However, my loved one's insurance won't pay for this as they haven't in the past. We now have to find our own doctor for our loved one. The staff are great people. This is an older community. The staff communication with the family has been good. The food is wonderful and my loved one loves it. The community has been able to accommodate my loved one's requests to eat in their room. There are three meals a day served, and there are choices to choose from. It would be nice to see more bingo played for the residents. Parties, religious services, bingo, and more are some of the activities offered by the community.

Maristone of Franklin has been truly wonderful all around and couldn't be happier with our families choice for our loved one.

Response from Maristone of Franklin
September 19, 2022Hi, thank you for your feedback! We greatly appreciate you taking time to leave us a 5-star review.
Maristone was the most expensive out of the facilities that we toured. We felt the value was not really there because the rooms were really small. Other than that the tour was good. It was multiple levels and we were looking for something that was all on one level.
