I like that it feels cozy. Not big and impersonal like one place I visited. I like that it's not big, that it's older - so lower ceilings, established plantings. My mother is not overwhelmed by the spaces. I've established friendly relationships with some of the staff- so people to turn to if there is a problem. Improvements? The exercise classes are at 9 am almost every day. My mother has never been a morning person so I wish they would have at least one day a week with an afternoon exercise session.

They are quick to respond. They are always friendly. Food was very good but not enough variety that he found he couldn’t eat a lot of things. Food needed to be cut up for him or options needed to be provided that would allow someone with minimal teeth to eat. In my opinion, the cost of all of these places is too high for the amount of care and personal attention they actually receive. Especially for people that have to spend every last penny to stay there.

The staff is great, if something has to be addressed, it is addressed quickly. The facility is very clean. The housekeeping does a great job on the rooms. They keep residents busy with activities and events, which keeps the residents active. I would definitely recommend Morningside in the West End to others.

The staff seems to genuinely care about my parents. That means a lot. [name removed] was the main reason I chose Morningside. She's one hell of a salesman. Very professional. She had my dad's name in the lobby welcoming him and he wasn't even moved in yet. She really worked with me getting my parents in there

We took a tour of Morningside in the West End when searching for a facility for our loved one. This facility was great! Our tour guide was very good. The atmosphere, cleanliness, and friendliness were great. It was just a matter of location and cost for us.

Pros: staff seemed engaged with the residents and they were nice. It was more cost effective price wise. Cons: The memory care floor was on the second floor - did not make us feel comfortable if there was an emergency. The memory care floor was also not very clean (floors were dirty and it didn't smell clean and didn't seem well kept). The rooms were my least favorite out of the 3 places - not as open and bright as the other two locations. There bathrooms seemed older and just not as well kept / clean. When we left Morningside, we all knew this was not where my mom would be placed.

I rated the staff a little lower because they're missing a Director in the Memory Care Unit. The Director left and they haven't replaced her yet. I also rated the Activities lower for that reason. Since the director left, mom hasn't mentioned singing or doing crafts as she did when the Director was there. Prior to the Director leaving, I would have rated the Activities at a 5.

Not qualified to handle confused patients. Smelled awful, but looked clean. Staff (mostly) friendly. Care not personalized. Meals were acceptable

Our mom has been at Morningside since August. She has improved so much during her stay. We are enjoying the experience, staff is knowledgeable, kind and responsive. The care is much better than what we received at a previous community. The memory care and therapy are excellent. Moms walking some!

We had a very good, warm, caring experience. The medical care was super. They did a good job checking in on my loved one. I felt very fortunate having them watch over him at the end. It seemed like he had around-the-clock care that he needed. It was a very clean and very friendly environment. They had a nice courtyard for people to go outside and sit. And the activities director was super. I had absolutely no complaints.

It was wonderful to read that you took full advantage of our beautiful courtyard and appreciate your special shout out for our programs director.
We did not choose Morningside in the West End because it had an older and dated feeling to it. The apartment was smaller and the layout was one that my mom would not have liked. It was more of a big open room and did not feel like an apartment. We were more drawn to the facilities that were up to date. The staff were all very nice but it was not the right fit for us.

We are completely happy with the cleanliness of the community we have never seen any dirt or messes when we come to visit. The staff members are super friendly never had any issues there. The food that is served out of a can that has extremely high sodium. When we come to visit it is just instant potatoes, fish sticks, mac n cheese, there are no fresh greens, fresh fruits or salads. It is just cafeteria mass produced food, we are not happy. Our loved one is very active for being on the memory care there are no activities and we do not want our loved one to deteriorate anymore. There needs to be more stimulation and exercises especially for what we are paying for monthly. Once the quality of meals improve and there are more activities we will be happy.

This is a safe and healthy community. It is a lot of money, but all the communities are a lot of money. The staff communication with the family is pretty good. My loved one enjoys the food. There are choices for the resident to choose from, an the community provides three meals a day.
