Everyone is friendly and always offer to help and are willing to chat whenever needed. Again, because of the turnover in the management it is difficult to know about changes and such. Everyone is happy with the food and servers as well as main staff. It's the unknown that concerns us. We know nothing about the new company, QSL and what their plans are. Fear of the unknown is everyone's concern. Overall. The setting is beautiful and the community is fairly small which I really like. It really is a nice place to live. Nothing is perfect.... Read more

While the food good be a little better, the atmosphere it is served in excellent! We would definitely recommend Elance at Tuckahoe to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

I highly recommend doing a lunch tour with [name removed], their marketing director. Not only was she informative about the community, but we have a very tasty lunch too! We had shrimp cocktail, a house salad, a mushroom and swiss burger, and even dessert! The community was very gracious with inviting us to one of their upcoming events, and we certainly will be back for it!

This community was recently bought by retirement unlimited which is the same company that owns another community I have been looking at, [name removed]. Walked in for an unscheduled tour and the marketing director [name removed] was gracious to take time out of her day to walk us around. I was very impressed by the touch screen TV they have which allowed us to look at different floorpans before talking a walk. It helped us narrow down our search. Everyone we encountered was very friendly!

We have found the staff at Anthology of Tuckahoe to be very friendly and always speak when passing in the hall. Housekeeping does a nice job of keeping everything clean. Our apartment is always well tended on the day they come. The move in process was fine and things that needed fixing have been taken care of. Our apartment had never been occupied, so we did have a few things that needed tending to. The meals are good, there is usually a choice for the main course and there is always dessert. Being only 3 years old, there are some things that could improve or be changed but overall we are very happy here and have made some good friends. It is nice to have company when eating. I would recommend Anthology of Tuckahoe to others.

I have had some billing issues with the front office that take a long time to resolve - but overall very happy with Anthology of Tuckahoe Based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend this community to others! I live 2 hours away from the community and their ability to deal with business issues remotely is limited - that is my only complaint

The Anthology of Tuckahoe facility is very nice and the apartments are comfortable. They messed up her medication and was being overdosed with blood pressure meds making it dangerously low. I wish the director of nursing took it more seriously. The aides are nice and helpful.

Honestly, some of the staff here is great. Dedicated, helpful, friendly. They brought in the ED from their Midlothian location, and I have seen implemented changes. The grounds are just so boring, the sidewalks are not accessible all the way around, a very loud industrial fan in the courtyard, not much to look at and enjoy outside, which we know is vital for positive minds. Food is very hit or miss and seems like more thought could go into the “culinary gourmet”, sorry but chili cheese hot dogs and tator tots and some bean salad to top it off is not doing it. Activities inside are ok. Call times are getting better, still inconsistent along with communication but hopeful it will continue to progress.

I toured Anthology of Tuckahoe and this facility is beyond great, a 5+! They're the top standard for Assisted Living in the area, from what I've seen! And their value for cost is even better. This facility would be my first choice for Assisted Living!
Great therapists when you need physical therapy. Previous facility dropped the ball on getting the hospital bed that I needed before my move. The Anthology of Tuckahoe contact went above and beyond to get me a bed. The meals are great - always start with soup and salad. I am totally independent with the help of available resources at the facility. I would recommend this facility to others.

Do not put your loved one there. They need to improve with everything. We picked this community, because A Place for Mom suggested it and it was in close proximity to my brothers home. Unless there have been significant improvements in the last few months I would not recommend you send anyone there. It is a new beautiful facility but there is no consistency or accountability amongst staff, constant employee turnover, contract employees not administering medicine appropriately or at all.

It’s a new building, so it looks nice, for now. Unsure why the elevators keep breaking despite the new construction. “Gourmet culinary experience” is just Sysco, mostly just heated up frozen foods. Management is shockingly inept and rude. Expectations are all over the place and extremely inconsistent due to managements weak communication. Never enough staff, always late with medication and sometimes never come at all.

As far as appearances go, Anthology of Tuckahoe looks like a nice facility. But after moving in, we found management to be weak. And communication was poor as well.

Our experience so far at this facility has been okay. The biggest issue that I have would be that they seem to be unprepared to deal with Parkinson's, especially on the medication side. If you're just looking for Assisted Living or even Independent Living without additional needs, I would probably rate them higher. Another concern is that it's a newer construction building and there are some quality issues with the construction that need to be resolved. The food is very good quality and variety. Communication with the family is very good. They seem to offer a good variety of activities, my loved one just doesn't participate much. Housekeeping seems to be once a week. I would maybe recommend this facility to family and friends for Assisted or Independent Living, it depends on the situation. It probably wouldn't be my first choice.

Beautiful building. Beautiful apts. Residents are lovely. Nice group of people. Food is ok; could be much better. Wait staff should pay better attention when taking resident meal orders. CNAs - compassion is a requirement of the job. Maintenance dept needs better staffing/capability to respond to HVAC issues. Ask about timing of rent increase and then get commitment in writing.

This was a very nice community. We had a hard time in getting follow up from the community. In addition, it was too far from family.
My loved one likes the food. They are trying hard to care for my loved one. The new director is amazing. The food could be better. Overall, I would recommend to other families.

I would recommend you look elsewhere for your loved ones for a community. There has been a lot of turnover of staff at the local level. You pay for a lot more than you are getting. The community seems to be disorganized. The staff communication with the family wasn't great at first. Things have started to get better with communication, only because we have spoken several times to management to get my concerns accomplished.

What we like about Anthology is the food, the meals are good and the staff are friendly. However they need a lot of improvement with their organization within the administrative team. The nursing staff could have better communication, we had some issues with our loved one not receiving medication at the correct time there could be better training. We also had big problems when it comes to the activities.

Once we determined mom needed more care - they were one of the locations that offered assisted living. I was initially very impressed because of the look and feel and apparent friendliness of the staff. We booked an appointment for them to come assess mom/ They never showed up and when they finally got back to me they gave me information that was inaccurate. They embellished things to make it seem much worse than it actually was. They said her case was worse than they could handle. I found this facility to have a lack of integrity and to not care for people who are already in a dire situation. I would absolutely not recommend them at all.
