Our objective was to find a place for my 95 year old mother with the type of dementia that still allowed her to think rationally, but was incapable of retaining any new information, even during a brief conversation. She knows us all, but can't remember where she lives, how she got there or why she is staying in this place (her home of 26 years). Her only daughter is her primary caretaker and she is getting overwhelmed at times with the constant phone calls and care needs. We selected Long Leaf because it was a beautiful location, very well managed, close to her primary care giver and very accommodating to our many requests. We withdrew because we had difficulty letting go enough to let Long Leaf adapt her (and us) to their routine in caring for the several other elderly Memory care patients at their facility. It's a fine line to walk for families between letting go enough without entirely abandoning their loved one to institutional care. People in Memory care need an advocate to help the institution provide the care our loved ones need. We found Long Leaf very willing to work with us within the limits of their caregiving. We simply couldn't let go enough. Reasons we chose Longleaf initially are listed below: - the place is very clean, spacious and we'll appointed. - the corridors are wide and have hand rails throughout. - the staff is kind and very considerate. One night my mother was very agitated about being in an unfamiliar place and one attendant took her to the common area, talked and sang to her till she calmed down enough to get to bed and sleep. - every concern we expressed was promptly acknowledged, and when possible addressed.... Community has lots of areas to be with friends. They are refreshing with new paint and have had much better and consistent staff. They have an alert system where a resident can push a button to get assistance. My Mom is in the assisted living section. I do not have experience with the memory care section. Mom complains about the food being 'gaseous' like broccoli, beans, corn. Don't think the food is what was advertised as being available in café and break areas. Think since COVID, they just haven't gotten back to it. They did raise prices by 10% which was a shock, but we've managed. All in all, I think it is a good fit for Mom.

Longleaf is a hidden gem where I have witnessed the caring and attentive staff who work tirelessly to keep assisted living resident and their rooms and visiting areas clean, fresh and beautiful. The minute you walk in, you feel like you are in a ski lodge. Most of the time, you are met by the front desk to offer assistance. They have good food, “happy hour,” activities galore and setting is second to none, in my opinion. Most of all, those living there, daily get cleaned rooms and help with showering if needed, have a HELP button to call for assistance with dress, bathroom, and help out of bed if needed. Longleaf is impressive in every area. Longleaf is a place like home! It is the best of the best for care services and attentiveness for residents in assisted living! It is a 5 star resident facility for those needing an assisted living!

I had a great tour experience at Longleaf Liberty Park. The only drawback was the location of the facility, it was just too far from where I live and I wanted her to be closer.
It is a newer community which was a plus for us - the room our loved one has is a one bedroom, one bathroom with a large closet for storage. It has a full kitchenette area so it makes it feel more like an apartment. For what we get the value is good - we got in on a really good deal. One drawback which is something everyone is experiencing is that they are loosing staff - because of this the quality of care is not up to par which has been an adjustment but we understand they are trying their best and we would still recommend this community to other families.

We toured this community and the tour was very good. They answered all of our questions and were very informative. They were very accommodating and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We did not feel rushed at all and they took their time with our family. I would recommend touring this community

A Place for Mom has scored Longleaf Liberty Park 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
