Overall experience was just bad after we met and toured the facility they had management changes. When my mother moved in her rent amount was changed, we were unable to reach the facility to pay down payment and it ran into another month in which we had to pay for a month and half due to their unavailability. We paid it because That was the place she wanted to be. A few months in another management change and different and care expenses was changed every month my Mom rent was different, finally in November I was able to talk with someone and we finally got a set rate again very costly but again we paid because my Mom wants to be there. This Mother's Day I go to visit my Mom she's sitting in dining room with no clothes on and no addressed the problem, instead they call stating she needed to be moved to lock unit for more oversight. The place just not how it use to be I have put back in place someone there daily different hours to assure she's ok. I'm in process looking into another place.

Response from Kingsland Walk
June 7, 2024Thank you for the kind words-we try our best at Kingsland Walk!
The turnover rate is very high. You can't seem to build a relationship. The payment portal has been out of commission for about 7 months and it made it easier to process a payment. I asked for a yearly statement for tax purposes and I was told they didn't provide one.

Overall experience was challenging. Her admission process?? She had a stroke and was told she had to be reassessed that was okay, but that assessed her needing more oversight, which nothing had changed. Cognitive level, memory, awareness the same. Value for cost triple this has caused great hardship in family to pay difference because our Mom likes the facility.

I wish they were cheaper, but I really loved this community. My mom was loved when she was there. She was treated with respect. Her apartment was cleaned. The menu choices were great. She was treated like a resident and not someone that is sick. This was her home. The care team recognized that the team kept them busy doing something through out the day - activities were good.

If the staff implies that Kingsland Walk provides skilled nursing, they are misleading you. The needs of our friend were made very, very clear and Kingsland agreed to accept her. That decision was unethical and cost my friend a lot of money. We made it clear that our friend required a Hoyer lift. We got her transferred...no Hoyer lift in the building. We bought one. They told us that until the staff was trained on the Hoyer, we had to provide 24-hr supervision for our friend. They suggested a nurse's aid. It cost a fortune before we were able to transfer her back to her skilled nursing facility.

There are some very serious and documented deficiencies at this facility. The regulatory and licensing authorities have investigated and found deficiencies that can be viewed on the reporting website. Very poor service in administering and ordering medications among other issues.

The community is small (about 40) which makes it very comfortable and more intimate - way less institutional. Staff is warm, friendly and caring. The facility is quite new so things are clean and fresh.

Response from Kingsland Walk
June 19, 2023We have such wonderful team members and we appreciate you sharing your experience and we strive to create such experiences for everyone! We can't wait to see you again, have a great day.
Overall, they're doing very well, and it's a great facility. My loved one does not like the food. I picked this community, because of the location, it's closer to my home, and I liked the person in charge of giving the tour, who really did a great job. Overall, I would recommend to other families.

They overpromised what they could offer and under-delivered as far as the care goes. We moved my friend out after 2 weeks of being here. I would tell others to make sure that the level of care is clearly understood by the staff. This is not a place that offers skilled nursing.

Response from Kingsland Walk
October 4, 2022At Kingsland Walk Senior Living, we strive to provide exceptional senior living for residents and a rewarding experience for employees. We encourage you to call the Executive Assistant to the CEO at 1-800-983-8876 x8960 to provide feedback and ensure that we address any areas of concern.
We had a good tour with Kingsland Walk. A few of the reasons we did not choose them were the pricing and the space. The pricing structure is all itemized, so there is a monthly rent fee and then everything else you need is added on so you don't know what you will be paying each month. The memory care unit is also very small and there is not a lot of space to walk around which was not going to work for my loved one. It was just not the right fit for us.
the food is great and the people are really nice. they are having some issues with the management of staff and delivering on their promises. i do believe that these issues can be resolved, as i have been working closely with them. i'm hopeful that things will improve in the near future.

While the facility is new, bright, and clean, the community fails to live up to its representation. In the Assisted Living area, the staff is very friendly, however the turnover is enormous. The hiring person is basically looking for folks who are friendly but do not ensure they have the appropriate skills to provide for the levels of care for its residents. The management oversight of their staff is sorely missing.

The brightness of the community and the cleanliness really stood out to us, and the staff members we met like the director of nursing and other directors were very friendly and welcoming.

We chose Kingsland Walk because the staff and the overall look of the facility really stood out to us. They have opened things up so we are able to have meals with my husband and spend a lot of time which has been great. The staff is always good about calling us and informing us about things. The food has been AMAZING and they have a great variety. We are very pleased with everything and would absolutely recommend them to others.

The location is very convenient for our family and our loved one has told us the meals they serve are very good. The activities are still limited they are not taking the residents anywhere but what they have within the facility are good.
