The staff is great. They take great care of the residents and some of them go above and beyond. The facility is a little run down in places but nothing excessive. It's just that the building has been there for quite a while. I love how they keep my mom out of her room most of the day and have her engaging with other residents. Important for mental health. They also keep a close eye on her. Overall it was a great decision to move her there.... Read more

The biggest area for improvement is the food. I understand that the chefs cook a low sodium and low sugar diet, but there is hardly any variety. And the food is incredibly bland. We drop off home-cooked meals or do Uber eats to my grandfather. The staff is all super kind. They seem to know all of the residents by name and they always speak to my grandfather. Anytime they see him in passing. They manage his medication as well and keep us up-to-date. He has had some recent health issues over the last 12 months that have required him to go to the hospital and the nurses always make sure they give us a full report before they send him.

Very friendly, clean, warm and inviting atmosphere. They give an automatic 10% veterans discount and opting for a nice sized studio made it affordable. We are pleased and he is fitting in well.

They took the time to take us on a tour and answered all our questions. We were impressed with them. We could think of different relatives who would fit better in one place and another relative who would fit well in a different one. We would be comfortable having any relative in this facility. We were looking for a smaller place that would fit our loved ones needs better.
The staff is very kind and welcoming. Very responsive. The meals let quality, and yes they can improve options. My grandfather also mentioned that the food is often served cold, and he has to request to have it re-warmed up.

Very welcoming, great engagement with residents, staff is wonderful and caring. Improve the onboarding process for families placing residents. Somewhat confusing in the beginning especially if it's the first time going through the process.

It's a great place. Also the residents there are like an extended family they look out for each other. It really is a warm and welcoming place all around!! Everyone there is very accommodating. The care and concern for my mom is very reassuring. My mom has a lot of anxiety and the staff is great with her. A lot has happened this year and mom has never been great with change anyway so to have her at the woods has been a blessing. From [name removed] the director, to all the cna's. The nurses that are there daily are great. [ Names Removed] have especially been helpful. My wife and I have both said this is the place for us when we get to the point in our life that we need the extra help!

The staff are wonderful. They are very friendly, and if our family or our loved one has a need, they get right on it. They're wonderful with my loved one. She loves the food and tells me there is never a bad meal - she just really enjoys it. The activities she attends she enjoys. Outside there are some spaces for the residents to sit and talk. Since they utilize those spaces so much, it would be nice to see more of those types of outdoor gathering spaces. The facility is little old fashioned, but it's very clean and very homey.

Very nice and accommodating. Not the right setup we needed for our loved one. I would recommend them.
The staff were excellent to work with. The experience we had was amazing for our loved one during their stay. [Name removed] did an excellent job and the family were impressed with the accessibility the family had to her. The family was sad to see my loved one not be able to return to the memory care area. The community was well maintained and my loved one's room was nice. The staff were wonderful to work with in caring for my loved one. They were helpful and helped the family with questions and concerns. The staff truly went above and beyond for our family. Games, coloring, and arts and crafts were some of the activities offered to the residents. The food was really good for my loved one. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

Very big, many units that were very far from the dining hall and activities center.
Pleasant, warm atmosphere.. MD visits, RN’s to administer meds, PT on-site w/Rx. All important . Did not see meal plans, potential activities, family visiting sites small and not private. Confusing floor plan. Did not see any staff other than Marketing Director and front desk personal. Spoke to RN on recent change to omit rapid testing on visitors at back entrance .

My guide was not the "usual" guide, but still provided me with a comprehensive tour of the residence and provided answers to all of my questions. Her rapport with residents is such that we were invited in to personal rooms, not just the model rooms, to see how people really use the space. The resident's trust and friendliness with the staff speaks volumes about the quality of the community at Heritage Woods.

I toured this facility while looking for a place for my Mom. When I first walked in, I noticed that it was bright and cheery. It wasn’t elegant, in terms of furniture, but it was adequate. It was definitely our second choice, the only problem being that the location was farther away than we would’ve liked. The room was also a little bit smaller than another facility I had taken a look at. However, I was given a lovely tour from the director, [Removed]. She introduced me to a number of the other staff throughout the tour and told me about how they take pride in having relatively low turnover. I found out that even the housekeeper has been there for 15 years. It was a nice facility, but unfortunately didn’t fit our needs.

The place was really nice but we would rather have the privacy and able to cook myself at times.

This community seems to be a good fit for my parents so far. The food is good and the staff are helpful. They keep the community clean and the snow off the walkways. The community is family oriented and I have already recommended this community.

A Place for Mom has scored Heritage Woods 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
