The community charges a reasonable fee for the car and what they offer. The location of the community is great and is located close to shopping and medical facilities. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

Our family was able to do an in person tour and even though it is an older building they have done a beautiful job renovating it. However, it just did not fit within our budget and we also noticed that some of the staff and residents there did not look happy.
We have not been able to have a meal there ourselves but from our understanding the meals and dining service is good. They have a calendar every month showing all the different activities for the residents to participate in. We would recommend this community to others.

I think they keep everyone safe especially during the pandemic. They are very disorganized and staff turnover is high. We weren't able to go in, and we only got to see from a distance. We were able to have outside visits.

The value was good and they took good care of her. The caregivers developed a caring personal relationship with and that made her happy. I would definitely recommend this community to others

The community had lots of activities going on. The staff is very tenured and does a great job taking care of the residence. It was like a family here, the staff was very friendly, nice, and truly care.

I would tell people that this community could do better. This was a mediocre community. They weren't very attentive to the residents needs, or belongings. There were times where my loved one wasn't dressed all the way when I visited. I realize that things could have gone worse. This is the reason why I rated the community at 3 stars on a lot of my ratings.

It wasn't a great experience, but it might be the state of the market. I don't have much to compare it too. I wasn't happy with it, but I don't know what the options were. The care services were great from some nurses and others who weren't as great. The residents were left to fend for themselves. There were a lot of inconsistencies.

Some activities this community offered were balloon volleyball, word games, movement classes and bingo. We really liked how it was a smaller community, which we knew that would work best for our loved one. The food was very appealing, it looked and smelled good. The rooms were very spacious, our loved one had a private room.

Getting our mother into this place was fairly quick which was good. We like the location. We have had to report several times to clean the bathroom and empty the trash, change the lightbulb. Staff appears nice.

No specific activities for Memory care patients. All the activities are for Assisted Living patients. When I toured the memory care area all the residents were sitting at dining tables sleeping. There were no employees around to watch or engage them.

I made an appointment and they did not show up. They failed to inform me no one would be there and arranged for a young kid to show me a room and to hand me their information packet. Very disappointing, a complete waste of time.

I was so terrified when I had to place my husband in assisted living. However, he LOVES Ginter Hall South. I visit every day and many times during meals and activities. The staff is wonderful-from the janitor to the cleaning and food staff , activity director, marketing director and management, I could not ask for more! They are all 110% dedicated to the residents of Ginter Hall and very caring and attentive to both my husbands needs and mine. [removed]

Although it was located in an odd location, in a strip area, it does offer access to many stores and restaurants to take mom when visiting. The building shows its age. There were some renovations on the first floor, and there seemed to be a few projects that needed to be done, but haven't been done yet. The staff seemed friendly. The residence did not seem to be as engaged as some of the other facilities I've visited. For the cost, mom could get a private room instead of a semi private room.

The tour was very good. It is a place where families can save money for their parents' care for sure. However, it is quite dated once you leave the lobby area. I'm not one to need to see all the bells and whistles but the old center block walls felt a little institutionalized. I also noticed there was a pungent odor after exiting the elevator on both the 2nd and 3rd floors. It did go away as we moved from that area. The residents seemed okay. Their bottom/1st floor also had some updated rooms for those who wanted them. It's not a bad place overall, but just not for us.

Can't put my finger on it, but there's something strange here. They're cutting costs, especially in the food dept. You get what you pay for.

We didn’t like this place at all. They weren’t modern at all and looked very old. The rooms were not that big and it looked more institutionalized. There was no carpet in the rooms either, only tile floors. However, everything was clean. They told us about the basic activities that they offer for everyone to participate in. The person that gave us the tour was nice, answered all our questions, and basically told us what the facility had to offer. It wasn’t the right place for us so we went with a different community.

When we first moved our loved one into this community I would have to say it was a four out of five. They have had some management and staffing changes, unfortunately this seems to have caused the community to decline. They do not seem to have enough staff and sometimes when you entered the community there was a slight odor. They were not providing the care services they promised and were charging us for. I would not currently recommend this community.

Everything is going just fine for my loved one at this facility! The staff is great and my loved one enjoys the meals. Though my loved one does not participate in too many activities, there are plenty offered to her. She finds her room to be very comfortable. Overall, we made a great decision in choosing this facility!

A Place for Mom has scored Ginter Hall Assisted Living and Memory Care 8.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
