[name removed] has been invaluable to me. I toured the facility several months ago. My dad was in a different facility halfway across the state. I was not ready when I did the tour to move him yet but she checked in over the months to see how he and I were doing. THAT is above and beyond. My dad was asked (told) to leave his facility and Sarah worked nonstop to help me get him moved. She called in favors and found different ways that she could help. We would speak at all hours of the night and early in the morning. She wouldn't give up and didn't let me either. The facility itself is beautiful and spacious. It doesn't smell like urine and feces like the previous facility. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff that I have met so far are super friendly and smile a lot. It is refreshing to see people that care about their job and residents. It is his first day there and they are very accommodating to help him adjust. He has dementia/Alzheimer's so he is confused but they are helping with that.... Read more

We paid $[removed] to get my father into Dorcet Place. He has Alheimers, their nighttime staff is not trained to handle this disease, she just calls the police when they dont do as ordered. We were asked to pick him up after 17 days & refunded nothing so we could care for him to be at home while they keep our money. When we arrived to pick him up the staff member was very aggressive with us. If this was her approach with him, of course he was aggressive. They will not give us corporate number & have said they will do it for the financial end refund. I am contacting an attorney but no family should have to worry when they entrust their family member to a trained facility. I have no complaints on the day staffs care. But its a 24 hour a day care. They need staff to handle both men & women with Alheimers.

I’ve had my loved one in Dorset for a few months. Since moving in, I’ve seen the executive director 2 times. I visit almost everyday. This is a problem. When I call, she doesn’t answer and I can’t leave voice messages. If I need the nurse I can usually reach her but she is out of sight too. Who’s running this place? The care staff is good, but not management. It’s frustrating.

Dorset Place- Assisted Living in OKC is by far the worst Assisted Living that I have ever experienced. We moved my loved one out of this facility very quickly. I would not recommend this facility to others.

Dorset Place was cold, and no one was there to greet us for the tour. It was not a good first impression at Dorset Place.

I made the decision to move in my mom a couple of months ago. The staff was very knowledgeable and answered call my questions. The staff have gone above and beyond to care for my mom. I see all the same staff there on a regular basis. If you are considering assisted living you should check out Dorset.

Response from Dorset Place Assisted Living
November 1, 2022Thanks for the review and feedback, Lisa! We appreciate you taking the time to share with us, and we’re so glad to hear that you’re so happy with your mom's care. Thank you again! – Team Enlivant
When you first walk in, this facility looks ok. But it's not. I'm here often and I've seen things that aren't acceptable. I'm giving this review so that people can be aware and to help those who have loved one's here but may not visit often to know these things. I expected better. Money/items have come up missing, especially from residents who are unable to realize it and can't advocate for themselves. My loved one is very independent and gets around well, so she can do a lot of things for herself. My worry is for those who cannot. This place is worse than a nursing home. Housekeeping isn't being done. I see that regularly. It breaks my heart to see some of these residents' rooms. I've spoken to other residents who have said they're having issues also. I've heard that some residents aren't being bathed regularly or even often. The meals are very small portions and don't seem like full meals. I don't see fruits and vegetables often, when I do they are very small portions. I supplement my loved one's food regularly, out of pocket. Just this weekend, a staff member purchased and brought in donuts for the residents. I've tried to call to discuss issues on a few occasions. No one ever answers. I have to physically go there and find someone to ask in person. Either way, nothing gets done. There are no activities being done here, except for bingo occasionally. I don't know what's going on here, but something needs done. We've been hoping for improvement. I'm looking into moving my loved one to a better place. But I still felt like I needed to leave this feedback in hopes of helping others, current residents and future residents. I would not recommend this facility to friends and family.

We picked this community because, they had the space available, for the time that we needed something. It looked nice, and felt comfortable. Overall, it's been a good experience, and has been working well.

October 7, 2022Thanks for the 4 stars, KM! We appreciate it. – Team Enlivant
We really liked everything about Dorset Place. Unfortunately my mom is on a limited budget and it was just too expensive. The staff were great and followed up with us after the tour as well which we appreciated.
They are very understaffed. My dad did not get good care there at all. The place always smelled. Plus, when my dad passed away, they shorted my mom money that was due to her. Find somewhere else!

I would advise others to find another place, simply because for the amount you're going to pay for the services, you're not always receiving those services. The number one issue is the call response time. From the time you push the call button or pull the string to someone actually coming to help is probably averaging an hour to an hour and a half. So we're paying all this money for level five care for my dad who needs transfer assistance, and my mom ended up having to learn how to do it has been doing it herself. We're not unhappy with the staff. The staff is amazing. They're very sweet and kind. They just don't have enough of them, and the turnover is super high. There will be times when the cook is helping with personal care, things like that, because they're so understaffed. That's really the main issue.

The security at Dorset Place is really great, we know our loved one is safe there. They could work on improving their activities and they say they do laundry but we do not see much of that happening. We know no place is perfect, but we do feel that our loved one is safe and well taken care of and the staff are nice

I would tell people whoever would be going in to talk about their dietary foods. The staff was great about getting back to me with answers to my questions. I felt the overnight staff during the weekdays wasn't as responsive.

We were very pleased with the care my dad received here at Dorset place. I felt he was safe and secure and they were all very attentive. The daytime staff was excellent, the evening staff was a little different but they were very good with communication. I would want others to know that it really feels like home here. The setting was very comfortable and the people were all very down to earth and accepting which made his transition period was very quick. I have nothing but the upmost respect for everyone at this facility. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose them again.

Right after my loved one moved in the community went on lock down. The community was telling us they would go around and speak to the residents and it wasn't being done as often as they said. I would say not to go there to my friends. We ended up moving my loved one out of this community. The activities director was supposed to be going around and doing individual activities; however this started right before we moved my loved one out.

It was nice to meet [name removed]. She was very knowledgeable on the living center and assisted me by giving info on how to get the status on my father in New York. I liked the idea of the Enlivant sending someone in to assess my father so everyone is on the same page upon arrival. I did however not get to tour the facility. I believe I have to reschedule a visit for that. Thanks [name removed].
