Radiance Senior Living at the Village

My mother fell and broke her hip 6 weeks ago. We knew it would not be safe to go back home for awhile. My brother , husband and I looked at several places Iare so blessed to have found Vitality. The staff is exceptional! My mother had an adjustment but within 2 1/2 weeks she was interacting and participating in activities! I am so grateful to staff and their kind hearts for helping my mother to live life and have fun again. I never thought she would be able to attend my son’s wedding this weekend and she will! Thanks to all at Vitality!! I will say that my husband was hesitant before he went in with me. He is retired firefighter and had been on calls to this facility up until 2016. He was amazed at the improvements from other owners and felt so great about my mother being there. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

My daughter did the research for Brookdale Village and we went there to see the community and meet the staff. I decided I wanted to live there. Everyone is very helpful and there are more activities than I have time and energy for. My room is very nice and the lakes in the back area are beautiful. The geese and ducks are part of the community. I felt at home right away.

I absolutely love the care and attention my mother receives at Brookdale Village in Oklahoma City. First and foremost, [name removed], her coordinator has gone up and beyond to make the transition to place my mom into Brookdale Village. From the first time we visited, [name removed] was so nice and informative and my mom knew that Brookdale was her first choice for an Assistant living center. [name removed] checks on my mother daily and updates me weekly on how my mother is doing. My mother is very happy at Brookdale Village. I really appreciate everything that [names removed] nurses , and most definitely the nurse assistants do each and every day to care for my mother.

I am resident at Brookdale Village and I have been treated very well. They helped me move in and get everything settled. Everyone is very nice and my room is big and comfortable. Everyday there are more activities than I can get to. The ponds in the back are so beautiful and I love to go outside and sit with everyone by the water. I do recommend Brookdale because I really feel like this is my new home.

I am very pleased with the communication from the nurses about mom and from the aides about any supplies she may need. When I come see mom (the best way I can with COVID restrictions in place) she is smiling and happy! She tells me the employees are doing a great job caring for everyone and she is glad she chose Brookdale. My mind is at ease with her here, knowing she is safe and cared for. Thank you Brookdale employees!

My family moved my grandmother into this community after she had some troubles in independent living. We tried to find a community where she would feel at home and that she still had her independence. Her ability to go to meals or make something in her room if she didn't feel like going out was a huge plus for us. She took her little dog Rowdy with her too. The view of her apartment was beautiful. We made wonderful memories with her here. The staff always knew who we were and loved when we would come visit. As she needed more care they were able to provide it to her and at the same time help her stay independent. Her appearance was very important to her and they always made sure she looked her best when they started helping her dress. The community had amazing events every month and we loved to join her and celebrate! As she aged she developed Alzheimer's and we were able to keep her in this community. we moved her items to an identical apartment in their memory care unit. This allowed her to stay comfortable with her surroundings and helped us know she was safe. I would recommend this community for someone who is looking for a place to only have to move once. They can take care of it all! I'm sad to say she passed away at the ripe old age of 93 but I'm very happy knowing she was in good hands.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! A lot of these reviews talk about the tour being wonderful, seriously? Of course the tour is great, it’s not until you put your loved one in, pay their astronomical prices that you find out the truth. My mother moved in on a Saturday and on Monday night the Village ambulance *(more about that later in the review) took her to the hospital where she passed away 9 days later. My mother LOVED being there, for the 2 days she was there but even then talked about how awful the food was. My mother had Parkinson for 15 years, was having the beginnings of dementia so I went to “visit” about 2:00 in the afternoon on a Monday. I’m gonna try to shorten this part because it’s painful still, 1 ago tomorrow. I couldn’t find ANYONE that would help me with the simplest of things, help me get her up and down, up and down off the toilet, get her clean from the toilet and it would all start again! Her shaking lasted hours and hours, never saw anyone. Finally she said “I think I’m gonna have to go to the hospital” she NEVER wanted to go to the hospital. I look out the little apartment, no one. Go down the hall, no one. I finally scream out CAN SOMEONE CALL FOR AN AMBULANCE!!!” some little 20 something asked what was wrong, told her and said she would call. The girl came down to my mom’s room, I felt like it was forever and I finally asked “shouldn’t they be here before now”? and she just looked at me like a deer in the headlights because they (ambulance) needed to be rung in (after 10:00 pm) and she’d just been in the room standing around, waiting.... I wanted to shake her!! The ambulance was waiting outside for probably 10 minutes!! Run don’t walk away from Brookdale Village!!

From the beginning with A Home for Mom, my experience was very informative and kind. When my sister became involved in the hands on finalization of the choice, she also experienced a lot of help. She was especially satisfied with Brookdale. My mother feels very comfortable with Brookdale. No overwhelmed after the initial move. We feel very satisfied with our choice and it helps ever so much that our mother feels so good about it too.

The last review was 100 % accurate. Do not put your loved one here most especially if they are not of mind to know when and what meds they should be getting. Expect them to have to correct the staff often regarding meds even though you will be paying a large fee for meds to given. The nutritional value of the food is lower than what would be found in a homeless shelter.

Initial tour was wonderful. Everything looked beautiful. The staff was wonderful in the beginning. However, everything after the time we moved my family member in, then went to [Removed]. The food is beyond bad to say the least, and that's being kind. The food they feed the residence is nothing short of institution food with zero effort put in to make it look or taste anything above that. The only staff that is ever seen on a regular basis is the wait staff, some of whom are less then friendly, and have a permanent look of utter [Removed]. There are other jobs out there people. The ONLY other time you see any staff, is if you go to the front desk, otherwise, they are nowhere around, anf are usually unavailable to residents. No one seems to know anything on the weekends about some of the "amenities" here, making it impossible for family members to assist their loved ones on the weekends. #frustrated!! So, they need to remember who is paying the rent here, and make it worth the residents time and money! [Removed] is to young and inexperienced to have a "lead" position, [Removed], [Removed] needs to go and there needs to be more organization and consideration of the residents. Overall, knowing what I know now, I wouldn't recommend this place at all!

I liked this community when I visited. The staff I met were nice and the community looked well taken care of. We would consider this community if our loved one decided they were ready to move.

This is a wonderful facility! The staff were very friendly and the facility looked clean and well maintained. When looking around the facility, though some residents looked lost, many seemed to be very happy. I was very impressed with the activities that Brookdale had to offer. I also liked that the facility is small enough for my loved one to get the attention that she needs.

Wonderful experience meeting everyone at Brookdale .. both staff and residents! Facility looks great and has a nice atmosphere. I talked my dad into moving to Texas and that is why we didn't choose Brookdale. Otherwise, it was a yes!!!

It is just an average facility, nothing really extravagant about it, or out of the ordinary. It seems like every time I ask to get something done, I have to keep repeating myself. They are all good people though, there is nothing bad about them.

Nice, clean, & quiet. Caregivers are courteous and helpful but response time is occasionally quite slow. The whole staff has been very friendly and easy to work with. My mother finds the food quite bland but I think it probably has to be to accomodate everyones needs.

This is the worst assisted living I have ever been in. I would not recommend this facility to even my least favorite person.
