Mom has been in the community for two plus years and we have enjoyed every aspect other than the food. She hasn't required much care until recently when she went on hospice. Much to my surprise the care team has gone above and beyond for us. Not too sure where it will go with the recent New executive director.... Read more

I am writing about a very special person.[name removed]. When I started looking for a permanent residence for my sister in law my first and final stop was at Cedar Bluff. [name removed] met me at the door with a bid smile and gave me a good tour of the building I knew right then this is the place where my sister in law [name removed] needed to be. When I need to know something about Cedar Bluff, [name removed] is who I go to. He is very informative about the policies and procedures of Cedar Bluff. We are very fortunate to have [name removed] taking care of our sister in law. Thank You [name removed]! Six stars because of [name removed]

I moved my loved one into memory care and decided to move into assisted living. I have enjoyed the team and the activities. I know I couldn't leave my loved one and everyone has been nice to me even when i get emotional. We are very happy here.

Response from Cedar Bluff Assisted Living and Memory Care
September 10, 2021Thank you for the review. At Cedar Bluff, our goal is to see our residents THRIVING every day. We do what we love and love what we do, and we are grateful for each of our residents!
There have been doctor orders written that the community took a while to get it implemented. After moving in they had a new pharmacy take effect. When we were searching we picked this community due to the office staff. [name removed] and [name removed] we felt really good about it, because of them. They worked with us in finding a one bedroom for our loved one, even though at the time they didn't have one readily available. This was impressive to us. The community and staff volunteered to move our loved one's items from one room to the next that was available. The community allows the residents to pick the food a week in advance. They even will make something different if the resident doesn't like what is on the menu with advanced notice. There are a lot of activities offered each day for the residents to choose from. The community uses a Sagely App and this will allow us to see what our loved one has participated in, and will sometimes include photos.

September 5, 2021Thank you so much for the review. We are so grateful that you chose Cedar Bluff as your home for your loved one. We love what we do every day and want to make sure our residents and their families have all their needs met. Please feel free to reach out to me directly anytime with feedback and/or how we can help further!
This care and service at this community is exactly what you'd want for your elder loved one. They care for each individual resident and go the extra mile to make sure that he/she feels at home. We just attended a great outdoor event that included brisket and live music -- right in the parking lot of the community! [name removed] knocked it out of the park on that one!

Response from Cedar Bluff Assisted Living and Memory Care
July 22, 2021Thank you so much for the kind words Corbin! We appreciate the positive feedback. It means a lot to our team. We love creating wonderful experiences for older adults!
It's been difficult since Covid hit right after we moved in. If it was a normal situation, we did like the place, the people, the cleanliness, the food. Everything was good up until Covid. We were super disappointed when that happened. We understand it was unprecedented, that nobody knew what to do in that situation. I was disappointed they didn't offer any money back when the dining room closed, there were no activities, and everyone was stuck in their rooms . I understand being safe, but I didn't think their response was fair. But when we first moved in, it was definitely good. I would still recommend it to others.
Response from Cedar Bluff Assisted Living and Memory Care
July 17, 2021We appreciate your feedback. We were so happy to have your loved one living with us at Cedar Bluff. Last year was extremely difficult for everyone, especially our amazing older adults. Our role is to always provide a safe and caring environment for those who call our community home. Throughout last year, we followed guidelines implemented by the CDC as well as local and state health authorities. At times, these entities required us to close our dining room, and residents did have to stay in their suites for health and safety measures. We ensured that our team members spent one-on-one time with each resident and provided social engagement to keep them engaged throughout this challenging time. We are so grateful to report that the community is open again, and residents are enjoying food and fellowship in the dining room together and engaging in plenty of activities to keep their minds sharp and their bodies moving. Please feel free to call me to discuss your experience in more detail.
We chose Cedar Bluff at the time because the staff members were very friendly, it was a good value for the money, and it is fairly new and clean. You do have options to choose from for room sizes, they are not too big, not too small. They do have a menu that they post everyday, they have 2-3 options each meal and they are served fresh. I would tell others that I think it really depends on the level of care you need, they do have 2 different wings but be very detailed on the exact care that your loved one will need. They do not provide transportation to doctors appointments, they kind of imply that but we have had difficulties making that work. Overall, I would recommend to others looking.

I recently did a tour of Cedar Bluff. [name removed] made me feel so valued. She asked me questions about my mom that made me stop and remember all the incredible accomplishments my Mom has done in her lifetime. The tour lasted about an hour, but time flew talking to [name removed]. She knew every residents name that we walked past, and I even got to meet other team members from the Community. I love that this is NOT A FACILITY, it’s a community where people come to live. Although this is one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make, I look forward to having my mom live at Cedar Bluff.

We only have limited knowledge to pull from since we have not been able to visit in a number of months. The room size is good. The layout is a little confusing. You do have to know how to get back to your area. My mom is not thrilled with the food. They have an outdoor courtyard for residents to use.

I brought my Mom to tour Cedar Bluff recently, the property was in excellent shape. The staff was very friendly. My Mother feels she is not ready to move, but when she makes the decision, Cedar Bluff is on the top of the list.

I visited Cedar Bluff looking for a community for my mom. Although I was not able to physically come in the building due to government restrictions [name removed] offered me a virtual tour. She carefully answered each of my questions and walked me through the process of what it would look like for my mother to move there. She even invited me to come to the community to meet her face to face and she walked around the building with me showing me different things. I was very pleased with their take on COVID 19 and the protocol they have in place.

A Place for Mom has scored Cedar Bluff Assisted Living and Memory Care 7.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
