Due to my mother's physicality, she needed skilled nursing. From the staff and food to the care and schedule, I would give everything a 5 star rating. My mother has only been there a couple of months and the staff has been fantastic, very caring, and uplifting. Their focus on individuality for the care and needs of each of their residents is top notch.... Read more

My elderly parent first came here for rehab. Due to short staffing and not having call button within reach, they fell several times and had more injuries than when they arrived. After moving to skilled care, things got worse. Know that there are some dedicated long term employees that give families a ray of hope, but most staffing comes from “agency” help that means they are not familiar with anyone and do not provide minimal care other than medication (that has been administered incorrectly to my parent numerous times). Sadly I would suggest looking elsewhere for a caring environment for a loved one.

My mother stayed at Brooklyn Park for a five day respite. I was on the phone with her when she started having problems breathing and needed her inhaler. Her light was on for over 45 minsters before she received her inhaler. She also fell out of her bed twice because of lack of bed rails. One time she stayed on the floor 4 hours before she was helped we found out the next day.

Our experience at Brooking Park was awful. My mother wasn’t given the medicine she needed. They never bathed or showered her during her stay even after we had asked a couple times. One day they didn’t bring her breakfast or lunch. She was not to moved around in her own but could not get anyone to come in and help her use the bathroom so she ended up just doing it by herself. The entire experience was rotten! Do not let the fancy appearance fool you like it did us. The nurses do not want to be bothered with. The ONLY positive thing I can say about this place is that we met a very nice and caring CNA. It’s a shame more people there were not more like her. Thank God I got her out when I did before something bad happened. I did not feel my mother was safe staying there and now I’m doing whatever I can to warn people to avoid this place if possible!

The staff made the transition from rehab to skilled as easy as they could. They helped with everything from paper work to setting up the room to having a timely care plan meeting. The staff is patient with me as I am still learning how all this works!

We were escorted through Brooking Park by a very enthusiastic staffer with the title of RN Educator. Rooms are nicely sized, coming off two hallways of the L-shaped facility. We visited at dinnertime -- everyone was eating from their red plates. A nice facility. It's faith-based, which means they'll work with you if your funds run low.

We have Brooking Park as the top choice of the two facilities we would consider for our mother. We liked the rooms and [name removed] knew his business. The remodel was a bonus. As we have said we hope our mother will never have to go to a senior living facility but Brooking Park was very nice.

On the tour I seen a vert nice assisted living section and the memory care too. it was not as nice and seem isolated. I felt they were not willing to negotiate the price and I felt there was room to wiggle with the pricing.

Well established and offers independent, assisted and memory care. However, seems dark and a bit dated. Didn't see amenities that my father in law would appreciate.

The community at Brook Park offered a pleasant tour. The staff that offered the tour were very kind and knowledgeable. They were able to address all of our concerns. The community could use a slight update. It wasn't as nice as other communities that I visited in the area.

A Place for Mom has scored Brooking Park 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
