This is a beautiful community, but their mgmt has high turnover & caregiver turnover was great. The director, marketing director and sales mger all left. Our family was very patient & understanding when there were small issues, we were thankful for the care that was provided. However, there were too many red flags & inconsistent care. As time went on, inexperienced caregivers were hired, given 20 hrs of training and a few shadowing opportunities and then left to figure out how to care for the residents. Even though “care plans” were expected to be followed, this was rarely a common practice. We learned after talking with the temporary mgmt that "lying" is an acceptable behavior of caregivers, it is a way for caregivers to protect themselves from being reported to the State. Mgmt would rather keep employees that lie a few times about not following care plans than hire and train new caregivers. We were told many times there would be on-site training to "fix" the problems. Very sad.

The industry is struggling as a whole I know but the amount of turnover of staff both administratively and in hands on care has been troubling. Many promises/things pointed to as a selling point when interviewing before chose have been unfulfilled. Started off well but quickly derailed and continues to decline with more staff exits, more perks unavailable, and communication about it all being after the fact or right as happening

My dad fell more than I was told and got in a fight that sent him to the hospital and ended up being the fall that killed him. We dealt with a horrible transfer of ownership before it became the Sheridan. Staff turnover was high, not really sure how my dad was doing health wise. Never met the on staff physician and the list goes on. Just seemed like nobody was willing to help or do anything due to people taking everything to court. It is hard for me to say some of this because there are some amazing people that work there and it just seemed the turnover created many issues.

When my loved one moved into The Grande at Chesterfield, it was locally owned. The food was good, the activities were varied and the staff was pretty stable and responsive. Since then, the facility has been sold twice and I believe it is now owned by an investment group. My loved one is now very unhappy here, but doesn't want to move at this time. My loved one's biggest complaint is the food and there have been numerous turnovers with the primary cooks. A more nutritious menu is an improvement that definitely needs to be made. At this time, I would not recommend this facility to others.

Whenever my mother was ill the staff didn't or couldn't handle her illness. Tests were continually delayed and treatments (meds) were delayed. Also, I found it almost impossible to speak with someone about Mom when I needed them. My calls were not returned. Her apartment was cleaned about every three weeks instead of the weekly cleaning promised. The common areas were very nice. Based off of our experience, I would not recommend them. They were fine when they were the [removed], but the new group just couldn't get their act together. Unfortunately, I attributed some of mom's declined to their lack of attention to her when she got ill.

What we really like about this community is that the environment is casual, yet elegant. Her room is always clean and tidy. The meals, although I have not had one always look appetizing. The staff actually know what my mom is doing and how she is feeling. The activities are scheduled and always vary. Piano, live entertainment, singing hymns or old favorites. Trips out of the facility are maybe once or twice a month. Very responsive to questions and requests. All around lovely. Even the marketing person knows residents by name and a bit about each person. My mom's dementia wasn't easy for me to handle. These care givers are familiar with best practices and she is safer there than being at my home. They take precautions to keep her as safe and happy as she can be.

I think their should be more activities for men as they should as most of the activities offered are mostly for women. The Grande at Chesterfield is great community and my loved one is happy there, I would recommend.

November 16, 2022Families are always welcome here. We think of you as part of this community. Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience with us.
It was a beautiful facility. We were there for an hour, waiting on someone to provide information. It was a lovely site but wasn't a good fit for my loved one.

November 16, 2022Thank you for considering our community. Along with personal care, giving our residents an active, uplifting lifestyle is at the heart of what we do. We’re grateful for your review.
Even with the staff being shorthanded they have continued to be so friendly and they really are trying their absolute best. They are really accommodating when it comes to the meals, they are willing to deliver the meals to our loved one or give them something different if they don't like what is being served. The rooms themselves are very nicely laid out. We thought it would be an easy transition coming from a big house - he has a bedroom, separate living space, a walk in closer and a nice kitchenette.

Our family had an in person tour and the woman who gave the tour was fairly new but very nice and did her best answering our questions. The residents seemed to really enjoy being there, we could see some activities but it was just to huge of a place. Our loved one is pretty much wheelchair bound and we thought it would just be to difficult for her to navigate around.

The facility itself is very nice, it is beautiful and clean and he really likes the food. They are using a lot of temporary agencies, that makes up about 50% of the staff. They do not know any of my husbands needs and they do not even know who I am when I am there everyday. They have lost so many items of ours and people have stolen food out of his room. We were told the rent would only go up a certain percentage and it went up above that percentage too so I felt I was lied to. The billing department has been awful and does not respond. I am very unhappy right now and I would not recommend them to others.

This community was okay but they may have had some issues supporting my loved one if there was a hoya lift needed. Nothing negative just the care at that time may have not been there for my loved one.

December 15, 2021Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are certainly disappointed to hear that we did not meet the mark. Your satisfaction is invaluable to us.
I liked this community but it looked more like a nursing home. I really liked this for my loved one but they just could not provide the care that was needed for my loved one.

They overpromised and underdelivered. They sold us a sale pitch. The Sheridan promised a meal and forgot to deliver it to my loved one. This was a very clean community.

October 14, 2021Thank you for your feedback. It has been passed to a management team that oversees this community.
Our loved one was there for respite care and at first all the arrangement's seemed to go very well, however our loved one ended up with bruises that the community said was from the gate belts they were using. There was no communication about this to our family or reports, so we aren't sure if they just didn't know how to correctly use the gate belts. Also we made arrangements with the group who comes to work in the hair salon to have our loved ones hair done twice that week but it was never done. Our expectations were not met.

Our family had an in person tour and The Sheridan is a very lovely community, and the people we met with were very friendly. However we decided not to choose it because it came down to the price.

September 25, 2021Thank you for sharing your impression of our community! We hope you found a perfect place for your loved one to call home!
The community has had almost a full turnover of staff. I would tell others to shop around. This was not a good fit for my loved one. My loved one needed some additional assistance to go to the hospital. The staff wouldn't answer the call buttons for my loved one. I ended up moving my loved on out of the community. They sold us with them stating they have an executive chef and they had better food than other communities. Our loved one requested food to be delivered hot and it was not.

We toured this community and the staff and tour were great. The community had great follow up and they did an assessment of our loved one over zoom. That assessment was not good at all and the management that was on that call was rude.

May 11, 2021Thank you for sharing your experience. We will share with our teams.
We had a wonderful experience at The Sheridan at Chesterfield. It was a very family friendly oriented place, it felt more like a nice hotel. They did not have barely any turnover in key people that we worked with. The staff here were very attentive and friendly and we never had any issues with them. The food here was excellent, I would have liked to have eaten here more myself. They made a lot of effort to always have activities going on to keep residents busy. I would highly recommend this facility, it is greatly run.
