Brookdale Wornall Place

We have lived here for just 3 months. We are extremely happy with the apartment, services, food services and all employees are very concerned to be sure we are happy and satisfied with this whole place! We love it here!

[name removed] and I have lived at Brookdale Wornall Place since [date removed]. We could not be more impressed with our beautiful apartment and with the amazing staff. We have been treated like royalty. We would be happy to recommend this community to all we meet. As a matter of fact, we have done that often.

I picked this community because, It had a yard for my dogs and an opening to the outside. It's a nice place to live.

Before OPP I lived for two years at BROOKDALE wornall so that is all I can compare. I loved many things about BROOKDALE. The facility was up to date and beautiful, though there were stairs everywhere, just 2 or 3 but still a problem for us with wc,s and walkers. There were frequent problems with the main elevator. Sometimes it was out for a few days, sometimes for several weeks. The other two elevators were very far away and it was very difficult for those who used walkers especially to make the long trek to the dining. On one end you had to walk through an underground garage that was dark and cold or hot depending on the weather. The food was not good-at times you weren't sure what you were eating. The meat, no matter what it was. was always, always cooked to death and impossible to cut. We routinely joked about whether we needed a saw to cut the meat or a chainsaw. It was not unusual to wait more than half an hour to get waited on and believe me that is just the beginning!

We picked this specific place after looking at many others because we found it to be a vibrant, friendly community. I would recommend to others.

We're very pleased.I'd say the residents are welcoming and the staff is attentive. We chose Brookdale because of the value - you get a spacious apartment and beautiful facilities for a price that couldn't be beat.

Brookdale Wornall Place staff have been welcoming and very helpful in all aspects of the transition of my mom to an assisted living facility. [Name removed] provided a thorough overview of the contract, all amenities and medical and residential support that would be available. We got a tour of the entire facility as well as viewed several different floor plans for apartments. We noticed throughout the tour staff knew residents by name and there was a positive culture and climate across the facility, from residents to staff. Once we selected an apartment, we completed the brief paperwork and were able to schedule a move-in date within the week. Maintenance staff were helpful during the move-in process and all staff stopped by throughout the day to introduce themselves and welcome us. The facility leadership team did a walk through to ensure everything was ready to go, making note of any finishing touches that were still needed. Staff have been very attentive and supportive and have worked to get to know my mom and understand her needs. Care has been good and the medical staff have partnered well to work through changes in meds or treating other small illnesses that have occurred. Many daily activities available from which to choose to stay active and engaged. The place is clean and beautiful and we would recommend to anyone seeking out an inviting and safe space for a loved one.

My mother has been at Brookdale Wornall for more than a decade, since before Brookdale Senior Living acquired the facility. It has not been a good transition. Brookdale looks to pinch pennies where ever it can. The carpets look worn, the woodwork is chipped and needs painting and the elevators regularly break down. The fire and smoke alarms go off so often that the fire department seems to make visits daily -- and most of the time do not think it is an emergency, because it is not. A real fire could be deadly. Security at the front door is inconsistent. Anyone can stroll in, undisturbed. Independent living for my mother was fine and she enjoyed a few of the amenities and liked the staff. But Mom moved to assisted living, and the problems there are profligate. Nursing coverage is spotty, particularly at night, and response times to call buttons are inconsistent. We have to lock up her diapers and wipes because staff "borrow" them for other residents.

This is a wonderful community. The staff is exceptional and the care goes with that as well - exceptional. There are plenty of activities for residents. My friend was never bored!! There is a shuttle available for residents for nearby shopping and dining. Also an indoor pool! I would highly recommend visiting - you will love it.

I was a real push to get my mother to agree to move out of her unwieldy house into an apartment where she had the extra support of great meals, regular cleaning services, and lots of social activities. A few months later she was telling people it was her favorite place she ever lived. Sadly, she passed recently. But the staff and residents have been super supportive to my dad. The routine of meal times, movie night, and other activities give him extra social support he wouldn't have had being alone in their old house. The staff has bent over backwards to accommodate his needs. My siblings are all so grateful to know he's in a great place that suits his physical and social needs right now.

This community is so caring towards their residents. They listen to their needs and do everything possible to accommodate them. I love walking in and seeing how happy everyone is. It is so fun to visit with them and learn about their lives, past and current. They have multiple activities to appeal to a variety of people to keep everyone engaged. All staff are engaged and want to do all they can to help the resident. They often look outside the box to keep their residents happy even if they need to re-direct. Love the staff and residents!

We chose Brookdale for our father and were very impressed throughout the sales process. Living out-of-state, we were comforted by the promises that his safety and welfare would be checked on daily, via a resident check-in button and associated follow-up protocols. Sadly, and to my father's detriment, those protocols were not followed effectively and executive management exhibited no sense of responsibility. Our observation was that Brookdale was unacceptably short-staffed, suffered from an egregious and nearly comical lack of executive leadership, and failed on a number of occasions to provide timely, accurate and truthful information. While many of the day-to-day employees were kind and caring, and though the food and facilities were acceptable, we ultimately deeply regretted choosing Brookdale Wornall Place.

The Executive Director is amazing. She addressed an issue our family was unhappy about and resolved the issue to our satisfaction instead of recycling it. We would like to give another shout out to the amazing caring staff and management at Brookdale Wornall Place. Thank you.

My grandparents moved in 4 months ago and they are very happy. Their move gave our entire family piece of mind knowing they were no longer alone in their home and had support with meals and housekeeping.

A great place with friendly care. The staff seem well trained and ready to artist with care needs. The sales staff are kind and seem to have the customers best interests in mind. I would be thrilled to have my grandparents live here.

The staff at Brookdale Wornall are warm, patient, caring and go the extra mile to deliver what is needed to support quality of life each day. The support I received when my mother needed a place to live following a hospitalization was extraordinary. I feel very grateful my mother lives in this community.

The first time I entered Brookdale Wornall Place, I felt welcome. The main foyer is spacious with comfortable conversation groupings and an inviting stair leading to the second floor mezzanine library. The staff and residents were all smiling! All of my "must have" and most of my "nice to have" requirements are met, but the best part of living here is the people I've met and the friends I've made. Residents are from all over the country and all walks of life. We're able to participate in as many or as few of the activities as we choose. The range of involvement is quite broad; there's something for everyone. I feel I've found my "forever" home.

This is a very nice place for anyone fifty years and older needing any type of assistance with their style of living. Very suitable for my mother at the age of 98yrs who enjoys the friendly people and all the services at has to offer.

For a total inspiring time do come to this home like place to live. I can assure you that you will have made a best decision of your later life. Besides the kindness of the staff, the occupants are so well mannered and friendly so you think you are back when that is how the world was operating. And here is that little bit of peace on earth. Move soon is my heartfelt suggestion. You won't be sorry you did.

The folks here are always friendly and have been helpful and responsive to needs for care and changes in care. Staff and residents are cheerful and engaging whenever we visit. When issues arise, and they always do, staff have been good at working to find solutions. [name removed] has been good to work with and has been very responsive to our needs.
