I’m very happy with this facility and very protective of my mom’s best interest. Meaning I’m willing to pay up for the best care. I believe this facility is well priced in addition to being top quality. The staff ([name removed]in particular) has been absolutely excellent. As she walked us around on the first and subsequent visits she was joyfully greeted by resident after resident and has a really positive relationship with all of the tenants including us. My experience with Brookdale Memorial City has been outstanding. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and clearly committed to creating a warm and safe environment. The community is always clean and well maintained with beautiful outdoor spaces that give the community a peaceful, home-like feel. The dining experience is another highlight! Meals are nutritious and tasty, with options that cater to different dietary needs. The staff make every effort to personalize dining to suit preferences, which really enhances the quality of life for residents. Overall, Brookdale Memorial City provides exceptional care and a welcoming community for seniors. If you are looking for a place where your loved one will feel at home, safe, and engaged, I highly recommend visiting and seeing for yourself.

Response from Brookdale Memorial City
November 14, 2024Thank you for choosing Brookdale and taking the time to share your feedback. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and encourage you to contact our management team
The staff is mostly what we like about the community. My only downside was dealing with the accounting part. Not the staff. They were very helpful. But there was definitely a disconnect between the local office and corp office where numbers sometimes didn't match adding a little frustration.

Response from Brookdale Memorial City
September 11, 2024Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Your feedback will be shared with management.
I encourage those who are looking for opportunities to sample Houston dining, local sites of attractions and overnight trips offered. Brookdale is the place for these experiences. There are also many residents who are satisfied to meet others without leaving the property with games and music. Safe, busy community and courteous staff.

The personnel at Brookdale were fantastic in helping us through the transition decision period for my Mom. She is moving from a home of 55 years and is now excited about the move. This is a testament to not only the Brookdale Staff but the Community at large. The atmosphere is one of activity where you see residents out and about engaged in many different activities. Easily a place where you can quickly get integrated and involved. Highly recommend visiting this facility if you are considering a Senior living location with more of an Independent living atmosphere while still having health care services on-site.

Not the newest and fanciest place but definitely well worth the money. All the employees are super nice and accommodating. I love the fact that when you exit your apartment you're exiting outdoors into a courtyard and not it is some hall

My dad liked the location, staff and it was in his budget. When it rained/stormed, the lights were out 3 days. A senior apartment should have backup generators. I am glad my dad got to spend his last few weeks at Brookdale.

We love this community for our mom. She came here after SNF and a stroke. We were nervous, but Brookdale home was exactly what we needed. The ala carte aid services were perfect while she regained her stamina and independence. I love that it has varying levels of seniors there as well. This kind of pushes the less independent to become more independent. The staff is also incredibly helpful and kind. The grounds are vast and lovely. I wish they had a more updated generator for storms, as our moms on oxygen. But I’m sure they will be fixing that after this past storm. Thank you to A Place For Mom for helping us.

I highly recommend Brookdale Memorial. For multiple reasons: 1-close proximity to medical services 2-the apartments are spacious & clean 3-the food is delicious and has variety 4-the services of transportation for guests who do not drive 5-the well thought out events and entertainment the facility offers 6- the social aspect (many of the guests who live there my father encountered are positive and happy about their environment there at Brookdale) AND lastly but not least. The reason I would choose Brookdale for my Mom or Dad is the employees. All of them really were helpful, respectful and considerate. Specially [name removed] and [name removed]. They helped my Dad in many situations. We always received a kind welcome and helpful attitude from them. Don't hesitate, check it out. We looked at 3 independent living facilities in the Houston area and choose Brookdale. I can honestly say we are glad we did.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Memorial City 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
