Brookdale Memorial City

My dad liked the location, staff and it was in his budget. When it rained/stormed, the lights were out 3 days. A senior apartment should have backup generators. I am glad my dad got to spend his last few weeks at Brookdale.

This has been a great place for my mom to live. The amenities are wonderful with on-site pharmacy, salon/spa, and therapy have been great. Activities have been fun for my Mom. She has also been enjoying the food. They are great at getting feedback from residence. All the staff are super helpful and willing to help with anything.

My late husband and I toured many facilities over a period of months and once we saw Brookdale Memorial City, we knew it would be home.

Depending on person's walking abilities, consider what building you live in relation to dining room.

My rent went up 9.1%. Cola went up 3.2%. I am afraid if I live five more years I will not be able to afford to live here.

What I enjoy the most about living at Brookdale Memorial City are the friendliness of the staff members who work here. Based on the experience so far, I would recommend this community to other families.

I highly recommend Brookdale Memorial. For multiple reasons: 1-close proximity to medical services 2-the apartments are spacious & clean 3-the food is delicious and has variety 4-the services of transportation for guests who do not drive 5-the well thought out events and entertainment the facility offers 6- the social aspect (many of the guests who live there my father encountered are positive and happy about their environment there at Brookdale) AND lastly but not least. The reason I would choose Brookdale for my Mom or Dad is the employees. All of them really were helpful, respectful and considerate. Specially [name removed] and [name removed]. They helped my Dad in many situations. We always received a kind welcome and helpful attitude from them. Don't hesitate, check it out. We looked at 3 independent living facilities in the Houston area and choose Brookdale. I can honestly say we are glad we did.

My loved one is currently a resident at Brookdale Memorial City and most everything has been great for him so far at this facility. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. The staff, activities and value for cost are great. The food is okay, according to my loved one. Overall, I would recommend Brookdale Memorial City to family and friends.

I'm continually amazed at how helpful, friendly and eager to help the Brookdale Memorial staff has been in my short stay so far. I picked this community because of the location and staff who seem genuinely care about the resident's well-being.

Place is more then expected

I had been speaking to this facility for awhile and was very pleased. My tour was successful as I took the offer that day. Very good experience

We picked this community because of the location. I would recommend it. The tour experience was very good. I like the onsite store.. although it is very pricey.

5 stars on all categories except for the value. For the amount of money that we spend on rent, I think that the TV should be included in the base pricing. Even the basic TV. Everyone here has been very nice and respectful. It is a nice place to live.

Our family likes everything about the Brookdale Memorial City community, and based on the experience we have had so far we would absolutely recommend the community to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.

One deciding factor for us not staying is that I didn't feel the most comfortable with the coordinator that would be assisting my dad. Another is that I felt the campus was a bit too large for him at this point of his life. He needed a community that was able to visualize him regularly. The ultimate determinate, was we did not feel led in our spirits to go. On a good note, [name removed] was fabulous!!! It was a nice community, but just not going to be the best fit for our loved one,

Reason for #5 being lower is that evening meals are in Bldg 6 ONLY. I LIVE IN BLDG 2 AND that is a far walk for people with walking problems, which I have. As well as many others I've discussed with. Wish you could tell them this as they aren't listening to us. Even if they limited to take out only in bldg 4 that would help! Sorry, forgot #4. Rate 3 only bc of above walk.

The staff has bent over backwards to help my loved one and we appreciate them so much. They are very communicative and the staff is friendly. The elevator is always broken, so walking up three floors occasionally is not fun.
