My grandma resides here-it was a big change for her and as she didn’t want to leave her house. Now she loves it. She loves the activities and has Made friends! We appreciate that we’ve been able to make sure someone is able to come and take for her meals as well.

My mom has been here over 20 months and we are so happy with everything. Our mom is always smiling and happy with all the aids and nurses who attend to her. We are ver fortunate she enjoys her new home.

Everything is getting better. The value for the money is good, compared to other locations. The first couple of months communication, was a challenge and takes awhile before a routine can be established. There is less experienced staff in the evening. I picked this place because it's an easy location to visit. Overall, it is a nice place.

I toured this place looking for a place for my dad. I was very impressed by the longevity of the staff (many had been there 20-30 years), the joy and calm I saw on the faces of both staff and residents, and the many signs that residents were truly known and loved here. Offhand sweet comments made to residents by the staff as they went about their duties, a large and detailed veteran display on the wall, and active residents everywhere. The rooms were very large compared to some of the other places I'd looked at, and it's location connected to Century Park and close to Hawthorn mall makes it ideal for active seniors. And though the amenities were not as shiny and new as some other places, everything looked well maintained and I really felt as if this was a place where you'd be part of a family, and not just a number on a room. Sue W. was very open and honest about all the details of this place, and took a lot of time with me to give me an inside look at Brookdale. Will recommend.

It is a very friendly facility. I have had multiple family members here and we have had a fairly good experience overall. I do think my dad was mis-assesed and that he needs more care than they are able to handle. The existing staff here did the best they could to help him, but everyone agreed he needed more care. It is a great place if your loved is is more independent.

My brother lived at Brookdale Hawthorn Lakes for nearly three years followinä his stroke. He was embraced by the staff and community immediately. The wonderful nurses and CNA's treated him with respect and Kindness. They are angels on earth for all they do. The activities staff are amazing! They soon got my brother interested and excited about various activities. My mom really loves this place. She had her own home but she was lonely. In Brookdale she has met a lot of friends and has many people she can socialize with she loves to talk. She loves to play Bingo and do crafts. In the warmer weather she enjoys going outside and watching the ducks that come for a visit and something to eat and doing a little walking. Speaking of eating mom has no complaints about the food here it’s like dining out in a restaurant and being able to order off a menu. We are so happy mom enjoys being at Brookdale the staff are the Best making sure my mom is happy. So thank you Brookdale for making my mom feel like home.

This is a good community. I would recommend Brookdale Hawthorn Lakes to others for their loved ones. The staff are amazing at this community. My loved one's room is excellent and has a walk-in shower.

We chose Brookdale Hawthron Lakes because of the location, the community, and the value for the money. His apartment size is very nice and spacious. We have not been able to eat here due to the pandemic, but he has gained weight so I would say the food is good. The best part about the community so far has been that everyone has made an effort to get to know him and made the transition easier. I would recommend the community.

I don’t think that my mom would like the atmosphere there. It seemed too much like a nursing home and felt much smaller than other communities that we toured. Although we did witness some activity amongst the residents, it still felt a little old and dated.
