Sadly it was the rate lock on the room which made it affordable - that was the main reason we chose Bickford. The staff being great was a bonus. They really do care about their residents.... Read more

Melissa was wonderful and offered so much information. Sunrise is just a bit out of my aunt's price range at this time and I was most concerned about what would happen when the funds are gone. If cost wasn't an issue, I would ask for a room for my aunt today !

I thought that was the worst place that we looked at. I found out later that they're not even medicaid eligable. If you run out of money they ship the person out again. When I brought that up to the sales guy he just said, well, we'll find them a nice place. I thought he was just overbearing. I was really turned off by the whole place. I thought it needed updating and I didn't see people enjoying any activities while I was there.

Response from Bickford of Upper Arlington
September 6, 2013We’re very sorry to hear you had this experience. Please contact [removed] with additional details so that we can address any other concerns you may have. - The Sunrise Team
There is not enough staff for the care that I need. I'm paralyzed on my right side so I need help getting to the bathroom. I have to schedule when I need to brush my teeth and go to the bathroom because they have to make sure there is someone here to help me. I don't have a roll in shower and they promised me I would get a roll in shower. I had to purchase my own lift because they only have one in the whole building. It hasn't been a good experience. I'm moving out soon.

Mom and I visited a couple weeks ago. Very nice, but short on storage space in the room. They also don't transition to Medicaid.

Very nice, upscale hotel feel. Rooms are all slightly different. Have 3 levels of care. It seems like they have processes that are followed which will ensure good care.
