We love having mom here. I was impressed with the number of years the staff has been there when I was making the decision of where to move mom. There have been a number of staff changes, but the replacement have shown to be even better than the original staff, which I didn't think was possible. I'm not sure they can improve the food without a bigger budget. Fresh fruits and vegetables are probably too expensive. I like that they always offer a ham and cheese sandwich as an alternative or hamburger, if the meal is not to her liking. They do always have apples and oranges available.... Read more

If the price was right I would move back but now I would tell anybody to look into it the staff is fantastic. I moved from there last January because my rent went up $[removed] a month at one time.

5 on all categories truthfully. They are attentive, caring, and always friendly. The meals are enjoyed by my mom. The place is clean. They clean my mom's apt. I am very pleased right now. Based on the experience we have had so far, we definitely would recommend Autumn View to other families.

Response from Autumn View Gardens, Assisted Living and Memory Care
June 24, 2024Thank you for your kind words! As part of the Autumn View Gardens Team for 6+ years, I agree that this community is one of the most friendly, loving and caring communities I have ever had the pleasure to serve. We are so glad that your mom is living life to the fullest! In His Name, Lauren
I would give it a C+ rating. The staff is friendly, but like everywhere else, they are short staffed and have trouble keeping people. Thankfully my mom still has her faculties, if she needed more care, such as medication given to her or personal care I would probably be looking elsewhere. The food is usually terrible is a universal complaint and the one I hear most often. The on site manager just blames things on corporate and doesn't seem to have great problem solving skills a few of their better staff members have quit due to this.

Response from Autumn View Gardens, Assisted Living and Memory Care
June 11, 2024Thank you for your kind review. Thank you for allowing us to serve your loved one.
I don't think anyone's ever ready to see their loved one move out of their home into assisted living or memory care. Autumn View Gardens made my Mother's transition from her home at the age of 84, to their small community, easy and efficient. There is a attention to detail with everything they do there and I can appreciate that since I live out of town and am not able to be there all the time. Many have asked me how my Mother is doing since she moved in 3 months ago and I say that we have not had any complaints. The nursing staff is communicative and so are the other people who work there. I felt like when my Mother moved in, that she would be safe. I appreciate the family at Autumn View Gardens.

Response from Autumn View Gardens, Assisted Living and Memory Care
September 25, 2023Sandra, thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience with our Team. Our Christian Mission is to Serve our Elders with excellence.
We picked this community because, I went through the tour/interview, and it's a smaller community with more interation between the staff and residents. I have not had issues, and they return calls. They gave us a better value for the money. My loved one is in the memory care unit, is more engaged, and likes to do art work. Overall, I would recommend it.

This is a good community. I would recommend to make sure you tour the dining room. The food was delivered on paper plates, and they were delivered on time. The community could use some additional staff dining room. Autumn View Gardens was always clean when I visited. The grounds are well kept.

We picked Autumn View Gardens because of the staff - they have been there for a very long time and have very low turnover rates. The community itself is just very warm and welcoming and we love the layout. The activities director is just unbelievable. The activities changes all the time - great variety. The director actually gets involved with the residents, she dresses up for the theme of the week, she has put on a fun little auction, they had a ground water game during the summer time that was so fun to watch. They have bingo, wheel of fortune and all the staple activities. We have been very pleased with this community so far, our loved one has had more socialization ever then she has in many years.

Response from Autumn View Gardens, Assisted Living and Memory Care
October 17, 2022Hello Nadine, Thank you for your kind words! Melanie, our Director of Activities, has been with Autumn View Gardens for over 6 years! She creates a fabulous program of events, groups, activities, trips out to shop, eat out, and go to local venues. I have been with Autumn View Gardens for five years this month. I agree that our cozy, home-like feeling is perfect for the Elders that live in our community. In HIs Name, Lauren
The best thing is they are friendly. I picked this place because of the location and they seemed to be good when we met. Also, the price was good, and I was happy about that.

Our family had an in person tour and the person giving the tour was great, but the community just had a smaller feel to it. The rooms were much smaller, and we do know every place is struggling with staffing, but it just seemed more apparent here then at the other communities we toured.
[name removed] is the Director of Activities. She leads painting classes, special art projects, cooking groups, themed parties and much more. The residents go out every week to shop and/or go out to eat at a local restaurant. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does. Lots of options and choices for residents to get involved.

The value for cost is one of the reason we chose this community, it has everything our loved one would need at a reasonable cost. They have a devotional every single day with different preachers, and other activities planned throughout the entire day if our friend wants to take advantage of it.

I was not impressed with the set up of this community and the way that the residents were housed. It looked like a nursing home and I wanted different for my loved one.
Our family had an in person tour before the restrictions and our experience was great. We had a good feeling about the place, but we did not put our loved one there because at the time they did not have a memory care unit, they were just starting the process to open up a memory care unit.
We moved in right at the height of coronavirus lockdowns. We weren't allowed inside to visit and only got to see our loved one through the glass. So there's a lot I don't know about what was going on. They did call a few times to let me know my loved one had fallen, but it was always a day or two later. I'm not sure why they would call after the fact and not right when it happened. The last call I received from them was when they took her to the hospital because she had stopped eating and drinking. The hospital found she had a broken hip, which I feel was likely due to one of her falls that Autumn View Gardens didn't do anything about. At that point, we took her home to enter hospice care. I would not recommend Autumn View Gardens. I went back to get a few of her things, one of which was a huge digital clock that gave her the day, the week, the month at a glance, because she couldn't keep her days straight. When I arrived to pick up her things, her door was unlocked, and the clock was missing. It was the only expensive thing she had there. I was not very happy with them at all.

From the moment I walked in Autumn View Gardens, I felt a peace and comfortable. It is a family atmosphere where residents happy and actively participating in social activities. Many staff members have been there for years which is refreshing and says a lot about the community as well. The community is in a great location in Ellisville and I love that nature is all around.
