Gloomy and sub standard. Room is very small. Resident fell while we were touring, and staff was right there to help him.

Response from Ansley Parke at Oakbridge
April 5, 2019Thank you for taking the time to visit and provide feedback. Our staff is committed to providing the highest-quality service and care and we will share your feedback with our management team.
I would absolutely not recommend Brookdale Oakbridge to other families. On the first morning my loved one was there, she had a terrible fall. She had not been issued an alarm pendent, which resulted in her laying on the floor for over two hours waiting for help. We were told by the staff that they "did not know she was there." They also did not call 911 to take her to the hospital, and they said it was because they did not have her paperwork. Overall, the staff here is questionable, the administration and management never respond to questions, the menus never reflect what is actually served at mealtimes, laundry and housekeeping is not done, and they do not hold monthly community meetings, as they say they do. This is not the place for a loved one.

We were really not overly impressed with this location. The location needs to be updated new paint carpets just everything in general. It does not give off a very good first impression when you walk in the door and see residents just sitting in wheelchairs not doing anything not even talking to each other. The only thing we really liked was they offered a range of options for the rooms.

We toured this community and the staff did not have time to answer the questions we had on the care. We were not able to see what is available for the care of a loved one. We had hoped to see the menu and if they offer activities for the residents. Other families might want to tour this community to see what is available. We did like that the community appeared to be clean.

We had a pleasant tour of this community. Everything went well, and everyone was kind. The community was clean, and from what I saw everything was well-kept. The staff was kind, and friendly. Our questions were answered. It was nice experience, and our tour went well.

Most staff are friendly and work very hard, especially since they have become more and more overworked due to the continued reducing of staff over the past several months. It is my understanding they are selling to another company. Hopefully things will improve. My parent has lived here for 14 months. We continue to have issues with the weekday nurse ordering medication in a timely manner, dispersing medication correctly to Resident Assistants, etc. Thankfully, my parent does not have life and death issues with medication at this point in time. It is roller coaster ride, and a family member has to always be monitoring and checking up on this aspect of her care along with her oxygen management (yes there were many issues with this, however currently it is going ok). Most activities on the the calendar NEVER happen. It looks great, however even when there has been a director of activities, most don't happen. Meals are fair and the posted menu for the day, often is not what is offered. What you see is not necessarily what you get. Today, residents received a letter stating that medications would no longer be dispersed to them at their apartment. They will need to come to a common area on the first floor beginning Feb. 20, to receive medication. Since residents pay extra for this assistance, and this is not what was agreed to, it goes to show management's lack of care and concern for residents. Many have different forms of dementia, have difficulty getting around, etc. It would seem that this could pose a greater risk for medication errors during disbursement. This is a very poor plan in my judgement. Again, managers seem nice to your face, however there is a lack of true management skills and common sense. Unfortunately for my loved one, there is dementia and the recent changes has been confusing. This new issue will have to be resolved. A few months ago they changed meal time for everyone. Now there is an assigned time to go eat, again because they have reduced the amount of staff. My family member is confused and still goes down at the old time and will just sit and wait for 45 minutes doing nothing, until they take a meal order. Good luck finding the best placement for your loved one. I know that budget and proximity to other family are always a concern. Regardless of where you place your loved one, be their advocate. Drop in often and check on the important items for your loved one.

My mom moved over to Oakbridge from a rehabilitation center. My mom loves I t here. Everyone is very helpful. We have had a very smooth transition. I recommend here go everyone. I also recommend you research ever where you look ask to see the contract before you sign so you can take your time and read every page and ask question. If the don't want to allow you to see contract walk away. When I looked here I asked tons of questions and called back to ask even more. We really do recommend Oakbridge

This is a a very nice community for my husband. The staff is caring and always wanting to make sure his needs are taken care of. Activities are offered to him, but at this time he does not want to participate. The food could use some improvement. The community is clean and well taken care of. I would recommend this for other families.

I would advise to get everything in writing. I did not and this was a mistake. Staff seems to be caring BUT there is a lot of non communication between management positions and working staff. I have had to be there constantly to "manage" my mothers care. It is getting better. As a former consultant for business and medical community customer service audits and fixes, I am very frustrated with not kept promises, not focusing on issues and my recommendations brushed off. There are some easy fixes that would make new residents transition easier. I have had to be a detective to find out about dining, laundry and other simple things that should be available info for someone new. I have chosen to leave my mother and work with facility staff. Workers are very open to making resident happy - just not informed. I don't think I should have to be the one to inform them of what is needed when this was talked about at commitment to move in facility. Big issue in my opinion - communication between management and staff and then to residents. Keep promised care solutions.

it is under staffed and is not helpful at all . Would not like to be my family to live there !!! they cant event pick you up if you go some where it will take them 4hr for them to pick you up and that's only if you keep calling them ! when calling them they keep telling me that i was last in the system so they could not pick me up when they are only 30 min. away but 4 hr to pick up the staff is rude and they dont know what they are doing I give them a " 0 " on the ratings :(

I toured here when I was looking. It looked like a juvenile detention center. I didn't like that they lock the dining room, so the residents are sitting in the lobby waiting for the dining room to open. It was more expensive than a much nicer place. They showed me the price for the apartment, it was more than what I made in a month. My daughter was with me when we toured and she was listening to two residents talk, and I don't know what she heard but we left immediately, and she said she would never let me move there.

When I arrived they couldn't find any one who knew about my appointment for the tour. The tour was given to me by the maintenance manager. Very unorganized. The rooms were very small and not up to date. No activities were going on. It was a little smelly. The common area carpet was dirty. I didn't feel was very secure. The person giving the tour wasn't even sure of the cost.

Response from Ansley Parke at Oakbridge
June 3, 2015We deeply regret that we were unable to meet all of your expectations upon first impression. We want to thank you for taking the time to visit and for providing feedback. Please know it will be reviewed and used to better serve our residents and their families in the future.
A very pleasant atmosphere for all of the employees. Very attentive to my mother and always available when ever I have any questions or issues (which I really have not had any). My mother has been there over a year and is a Level One care.

They are one of the better ones that I have seen. They very much try to accommodate you. They try to do whatever they can; I had an incident with my mom and they went above and beyond and took care of it. I was really impressed. They take them out to grocery stores, church, doctors, and shopping. I'm very happy!

My grandma seems relatively happy! Basically, the social life is the main thing. She doesn't have her own room yet, but that is from our own budget. They really worked with her to get her in the place with her smaller paycheck. The care seems great, and she tends to be pretty happy!

I was over there today and they were giving the tour to another perspective and I basically told them it was the best bang for thier buck! I really like the place. The people are outstanding; I've never been in a friendlier place. I do go over there reguarly with out announcing and they're really, really good. They were far and away the best and the least expensive that I could find. We're exceptionally happy! My mother is in the smallest room in the place but it's not the size, it's the attitude of the people. I call them anytime and they take care of things for me and answer my questions.
