I’m very disappointed with Grand Villa- when we moved my mom in we were told how they would keep my mom some what active and that has not been the case. My mom has declined significantly since she has been at Grand Villa at this point we just don’t know what to do

My 74-y.o. brother has early onset dementia, and after two years in another assisted living facility, we moved him into Grand Villa. It’s difficult to describe the relief that we now feel: Grand Villa appears to be the ideal landing spot for him. Everyone on the staff from top to bottom has been exceptionally helpful and caring, and in no time at all my brother has relaxed and content and (dare I say?) happy with the relocation. I’m so happy that we’ve become part of the Grand Villa community. What a relief!!!

Grand Villa is only the third place I have ever lived. I went from my childhood home to married home and now to ALF home. The thing I like the best is the staff is very caring. Made me feel right at home even during Covid and right after I had lost my husband. From the minute I got here, everyone was so kind and nurturing and encouraged me to reach out to my sons even when I didn't want to. They allowed me to make decisions for myself and didn't push me out of my comfort zone. A lot of very good people from staff to other residents. Best decision I could have ever made.

We had to move Mom out of Grand Villa due to the fact that her health was declining. She was unable to stay at the assisted-living facility. We have her now in a nursing home here in Lakeland and she is doing good. This is a wonderful place. I would highly recommend anyone putting their loved ones in here. They take such wonderful care of them. I was always able to call up there. Talk with the staff find out what Mom was doing. Very communicative. Always open to talk with you and meet with you.

Always room for improvement. An issue I am not happy with is I was told his laundry would be done separately. I ironed a name tag in everything. When I've gone there, he will be wearing someone else's clothes. So obviously his laundry isn't done separately and some things have gone missing. I plan to speak to the CEO regarding this.

The Grand Villa is a highly recommended place to live. The nurses are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The dining room are excellent and the meals are great . They also have a computer that the residents are able to use and have access to the web. The management and the executive director deserve a 10 plus rating

[name removed] and [name removed] Would like to give a special thanks to [name removed] for going above and beyond to help them. She wears many hats as the activities coordinator on the assisted living side. She cuts hair, does nails and drives the van to take them places. She is a wonderful person and we are so grateful for her.

What we like most about Grand Villa is that it is on the small side so everybody knows each other. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

I reviewed GV months ago when my brother in law moved into the memory care unit. I was impressed with staff and facility and said so in the review. Now, 8 months later, my opinion of the staff and facility has only gotten better. I visit often and at varying times so I’ve gotten to see many, many staff on each of the shifts. Each person I’ve spoken with has been cheerful, helpful, professional and caring. They are never “too busy” for any question or to provide assistance of any and all types. For the reception staff ([name removed] and [name removed] ), to each of the MC unit’s caregivers, we are very, very grateful.

I can honestly say that the staff at Grand Villa are amazing! They take such good care of their residents. From the administration staff to the activities staff to the caregivers and even the food service staff as well as the custodial staff, everyone is very caring. There are so many activities going on daily and the residents all seem happy to be there and be a part of the activities. It gives me peace of mind knowing that both of my parents are being well taken care of there!

We spent many hours and days searching for the right facility to place our family member and we choose Grand Villa. The staff and the nurses are very professional and attentive to each resident. The facility is very clean (top-notch!). We don't have to worry about our loved one because we know that our family member is in good hands. There are so many activities for the residents as well as wonderful prepared meals. We feel very comfortable knowing that our family member is getting the best of care. I would recommend this facility most definetly. The Executive Director has been very professional and is always available to answer our questions.

As far as Grand Villa goes we would highly recommend it. Those people were really great.

I will say that I would definitely not recommend Grand Villa to any one. My husband was there one week when he had a seizure and fell on the floor. After four days in the hospital, it was determined that the seizure was caused by Grand Villa employees grinding up his medicine when several were not supposed to be crushed. He returned to Grand Villa where he fell again one week later. They insisted on putting him in a wheelchair even though I told them he did not need to be in a wheelchair. He tripped over the foot rests and broke his back. After 28 days in the hospital, I brought him home. During that time no one called me to ask how he was. During the short time he was actually in their care, they managed to lose a set of new sheets, a washcloth, a new mattress pad, his glasses, and several other things. He was never bathed. The whole experience was a nightmare.

A Place for Mom has scored Grand Villa of Lakeland 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
