They kept changing the way they did the laundry, which was fine. But 50% of my loved one's clothes just disappeared, even after we tagged them. The food was not very good here. And they really didn't have much meal planning for you if you had needs or preferences off the main stream. I could see they had a lot of activities, but my loved one didn't participate. The management was very good. If you had an ear to management, they would help you out a lot. It's not like they ignored you. For instance, I wanted to put cameras in my loved one's room, and they were very open to that and helped me to get that achieved. Overall, after looking at several places, I'm glad I chose them. The marketing director was very supportive from the beginning to the end. I could run questions by her, and she was very helpful. We ended up needing hospice care, and they helped get that set up. The hospice service they recommend there was excellent. I got to talk to a chaplain once a week, and the home office would call me once a week. The hospice nurse was outstanding. It was like having a sister there.

Overall, our experience at Westmont has actually been very positive. When our father transferred to a memory care unit, we initially did not think that that was a great idea. Very soon we realized that we were wrong. The nurses the evaluators really did a wonderful job.

My mom's been there since July so it's been a short period but no complaints whatsoever. It's very clean, they're very friendly, occasionally there may be one person but that's just a personality thing. Overall, everyone's very friendly, when you come into the facility they greet you and they're very helpful. My mom just needs assistance with things, she's not independent, they handle all of the medications but my mother hasn't had any complaints and believe me she would tell me. My mom, believe it or not, is not one to go to activities, but I think she's slowly venturing out. She'll be 88 but she's not senile whatsoever, so I think some of the activities may be geared towards people who aren't so with it. They do have outings, but my mom, given the option, would chose not to go but I know they post calendar's of activities for the month and there's always something going on 2 or 3 times a day and the foods terrific, I'd give it a 5 plus. They say when you see it you know it and when I walked in I just knew it. She's had a couple of bumps in the road but they were addressed immediately and didn't happen again.
