The Waters of Oak Creek
3.3

The staff in memory care is wonderful. I was not as impressed when Dad was in assisted living. It was great he stayed in the same apartment, but among other things there were staffing changes going on at the time we were moving Dad to assisted living and I had to follow up a lot or I felt he would have fallen through the cracks. My dad has lived at The Waters for about a year and we are on our 3rd medical director. I am hopeful the new one will stay. The director of the facility is friendly, but I feel he delegates my questions. This may be appropriate for his role, but I feel "put off" at times. The head chef in the restaurant is new. They serve a lot of chicken dishes. I don't know how much fresh fruit my dad gets so I try to bring that for him. Memory Care doesn't have a microwave or an ice maker, so that is inconvenient and the refrigerator in his room is dorm size, so the freezer is pretty much useless. We chose The Waters because of the location. The admission person, [name removed], is wonderful. The decor is bright and friendly. The ladies at the concierge desk, {names removed], are so welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Heritage at Deer Creek in New Berlin, WI
4.9

We chose Heritage at Deer Creek because of the staff and the newness of the building as far as updates. And location especially. You do have to make sure things are getting done, sometimes things can slip through the cracks. Such as getting her bed made everyday. But they really are accommodating and helpful as well as friendly. As a family member just be mindful to check that those tasks are being followed through for them. Things can get miscommunicated from time to time.

It is now a Capri community. There are changes in the staff that have occurred but the quality remains stable. The staffing could improve internal communication.
