We chose Heritage at Deer Creek because of the staff and the newness of the building as far as updates. And location especially. You do have to make sure things are getting done, sometimes things can slip through the cracks. Such as getting her bed made everyday. But they really are accommodating and helpful as well as friendly. As a family member just be mindful to check that those tasks are being followed through for them. Things can get miscommunicated from time to time.

This is not our first time in respite care. The location was convenient for our family, but I would not take him back there again. Response to call button was not timely. They were understaffed, and the quality and experience of the staff was often lacking. Lack of communication or miscommunication was another issue that was quite frustrating.

We toured Heritage at Deer Creek when searching for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This was a nice facility. Our tour guide was very good. The atmosphere, cleanliness, and friendliness was also good. We also toured the Memory Care unit. I noticed that they didn't have an activity calendar and that it didn't seem to be a priority.
Good community, it was too far for family to visit.
This is a nice place in a nice area. I would highly recommend Heritage at Deer Creek to others for their loved ones. The staff have always been able to get answers to me about my questions or concerns. Concerts, group meetings, games, and more are some of the activities available for the residents to choose from. The community will deliver my loved one's meals to them, if they don't want to eat in the dining room. The community is able to have physical therapy come assist my loved one. Heritage is able to provide housekeeping, laundry service, and the room for the monthly fee. There is a separate fee for internet and cable.

Our family was able to do an in person tour before the pandemic so we got to see a lot of what the community had to offer and it was really nice.
We toured this community and it was very elegant and inviting. The tour was good and the staff was very friendly. The price was on the high end of our scale so unfortunately, it didn't meet our needs at the time.
The staff is very good. They are very genuine. They got to know the residents and their needs. I met with the Chef, he was very accommodating with allergies and food preferences. The room sizes were of a good size. They have walking paths and outdoor space for the residents to use.

My brother in law was there in Enhanced assisted living and all I can say is DON'T but your loved here. The director of nursing was very rude. He would ring because he needed to be changed, they'd come in turn off his necklace that would let them know he needed something and then say they had to get someone to help. Hed sit in his dirty diaper for 20 minutes. If it was almost lunch he'd have to wait till after lunch. They are very short staffed. He ended up with a bedsore!!! This place was a nightmare. I could go on and on how bad it was. Please dont put your loved one here.

Response from Heritage at Deer Creek
December 10, 2019Thank you for taking the time to share you're experience. We're terribly sorry to hear of your brother-in-law's situation! Our goal is to provide the best care possible for our residents. If you haven't already, we'd encourage you to reach out to our quality department at [removed] to tell them more of the specifics of your situations so we can address them.
I would be remiss if I did not warn others about this “assisted care” facility. Be warned it is beautiful, rooms well maintained, eating areas are open, and it is easy to envision the one that you love living there. I get it when your parents or significant other is at that stage where assisted living is the only option all you want is a place that you can trust and is beautiful. However, if you are considering this facility again be warned. Money does not buy good care when the facility mismanaged. Check out this little gem about the facility that you are considering – news. We had great plans for my Dad when he moved in after rehab. It is true that we did not know that he was very close to death. It is true that the clothes my Dad wore on Easter Sunday were still on him and soaked straight through on that following Monday, found by my Mom. It is true that I had no words of comfort for my Mom, except this facility is [language removed] and it is true that after my father had passed this facility was going to charge my Mom for a care bracelet that was only used at their facility, they had apparently forgotten to remove it in their rush to ship out my Dad’s body. Are there good caregivers there? Possibly but the negative outweighs the positive. If you read the above and are still considering this facility as an option, I will pray for you and your loved one so that your experience is not the same.

Facility is soon to be remodeling quite a bit to rearrange service areas to larger accommodations. May be disruptive. Staff seems pleasant.

Response from Heritage at Deer Creek
January 3, 2019Thank you for sharing your experience with our community. We are glad you found it so welcoming. Creating a positive and engaging environment for our residents and guests is very important to us!
In the short time that my mother has been here everything has been going fine. She is happy there which is a good thing. The maintenance is a little slow to respond to my liking but overall it is ok. The apartment that my mother has is nice and the people there are nice too. My mother seems to be making friends and during her meals 3 times a day she sits with them. They also interact during the activities that the facility provides. The facility’s appearance also has a homey atmosphere.

October 10, 2017We’re sorry to learn that your experience at Heritage at Deer Creek was less than adequate. Quality matters so we appreciate your input. If you want to let us know more about your experience, please send us the details.
I was very impressed by the staff and the tour they took me on, The memory care unit is small with 16 beds and it was very nice. They did offer several amenities for the residents. Unfortunately, they did not have any availability at the time.

I am pleased with the decision we made. I would hope that you will ask the same questions after my mother has spend several months at Heritage. I gave the value a lower rating because assisted living is costly.

The staffing seemed poor during our tour of Heritage. There seemed to be a slight odor and it did not look real clean when we walked in. This community did not seem to work for mom.

During my tour i was able to meet some friendly staff. The community from what i saw was clean and organized. Activities are offered to the residents. The tour guide was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I feel that i received a proper tour of the place.

A Place for Mom has scored Heritage at Deer Creek 7.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
