Lower ratings only due to "no place is perfect" and sometimes when you make a request it may take an extra minute for stuff to be taken care of. Not sure of reason, When you "renew" your living quarter contract they forget that "the extra" $ increase is sometimes a huge demand on the tenant and family on a social security budget.

Brookdale Richland Hills (AL)

Even though our loved one has only been there for a short while, the staff have really gotten to know her. Every time our family comes to visit they know us by name, they recognize our face and always greet us with a smile. The staff have no problem keeping us up to date with anything regarding our loved one. We did have a medical concern about a month in and the staff were very quick to notify us and help us with the situation The showed they have swift and quick response time and it says to us they were always paying attention to our loved one even during the night shifts

Harvest of Aledo

Very nice place but issues with staff turnover and clinical knowledge are deficiencies. Meds not given on time. Loosing meds. Food not on time, not producing meals that are on the menus, only offering a sandwich multiple times. Not enough staff to take orders and deliver food. Facilities staff is great and the administration staff is nice and helpful.

It's is good but not great. There are good aides that work there and some that are a little lazy. Overall, my mom says the food is good and enjoys the community activities.

Don't spend too much money on clothing or bath towels because they will disappear. Wipes adult underwear and pads will too. They were the best choice at the time.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is an establishment that houses at least two seniors who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. A nursing home facility provides its inhabitants with around-the-clock care administered by on-site nurses. These nurses provide healthcare services for those who are unable to take care of their own needs.

Nursing homes can be a helpful and easy care alternative for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will routinely accept persons 55 and older infrequentlyheard of in senior care regarding different care types. Many residents tend to be single women who have circles of support, and about fifty percent of nursing home residents are older than 85 years old. Nursing homes are required to provide emergency dental services, nursing and related services, room and bed maintenance services, and specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability) to residents. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to have protections against involuntary transfer or discharge, be free from abuse and neglect, be free from discrimination, and spend time with visitors. Examples of care services and amenities offered at nursing homes might include help with legal questions, skilled nursing or medical care, social and recreational activities, and senior centers. Often times persons might select life in a nursing home over another type of facility due to a physical or mental condition that prevents them from easily accomplishing their standard of living.
