It was good for my brother. He got back on his feet and able to move out on his own. I would recommend others to consider it after they check it out for themselves
This place - Emerald Greens, has been a huge blessing for my mom! The staff has been SO patient with mom-she had dementia and can be hard to redirect at times. The facility is always spotless. The activities director is absolutely amazing-she keeps them so busy and engaged.
Even though my mom is at a facility I still feel like I'm taking care of her. I like that it's small. This has been a better fit than the previous place which was much bigger. What I like least is that they seem to always be short staffed. That's when things fall through the cracks. It came down to 2 places and I chose the one with a roll-in shower.

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home provides residence to two or more seniors who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. This type of residence offers its occupants 24-hour care by registered nurses. These caregivers offer health related services for seniors who cannot take care of their needs.
Nursing homes can be a familiar and comfy care choice for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will routinely take in individuals 55 and greater which is unusual for other senior care types. The most frequent mental issue experienced by nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their decision making capacities, and their sense of familiarity, and memory recall. Often times individuals may prefer to live in a nursing home over another type of facility due to a mental or physical impairment that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their standard of living. Nursing homes are required to provide a professionallly directed program of activities, pharmaceutical services, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), and medically-related social services to residents. A significant amount of inhabitants are bachelors or widows who have less social support, and about fifty percent of nursing home residents are older than 85 years old. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from abuse and neglect, make complaints, exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen, and get information on services and fees.
