Facility needs updating Staff is amazing! Menu was inconsistent, almost daily. Servers were inconsistent. Tablecloths were not washed regularly. Grounds need updating, the great staff makes up for the age of the facility.

An assisted living community is an organized living community which provides assistance, support, and supervision to self-sufficient seniors who do not need skilled nursing services. Services provided often include help with the activities of daily life. Inhabitants may be kept under supervision and assessment. In certain situations, communities may provide continuing care, hospice, or respite. The state of South Carolina has specific rules related to this type of community. The Board of Health and Environmental Control, Division of Health Licensing licenses this type of community. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include administer routine medications, staff may self administer medications under licensed staff supervision, and monitor blood sugar levels. Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to guarantee their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as requirements and arrangements for visits by or to physicians or other authorized health providers, assistance with ADLs for the resident, recreational and social activities that are suitable, desirable, and important to the resident s well-being, and assessing the extent of residents problems and needs. Public assistance is available through Medicaid State Plan. There must be one toilet for every 1 residents and one bath or shower for every 1 residents. There is a maximum occupancy of 3 residents per room. Staff members obtain training in a variety of subjects. These areas include Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for designated staff members/volunteers to ensure that there is a certified staff member/volunteer present whenever residents are in the community, occupational safety and health administration standards regarding blood-borne pathogens, Basic first-aid, and procedures for checking and recording vital signs. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include three meals and snacks that meet dietary needs and special menus are provided for those with special dietary needs . This type of community is required to offer a number of services. These include at least one structured recreation activity each day, medication assistance, assistance with ADLs, and transportation.
