Serenity Care has been all good. She loves the food, staff, and the people have been really nice. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families

The Laurels Senior Living Community in Hazleton, PA

This is a very nice community, and it is the location we selected for my Mom. I'm familiar with some of the staff and residents, so I knew it would be a good place for her. Everyone is friendly, and it is very clean. I'd like it if they had a bit more coverage for activities, but based on the calender I've seen they have a fairly good range of them.

Highland Park Senior Living in Wilkes-Barre Township, PA

My mother is in the memory care portion of this community. So far everything is working out pretty well. I feel she is, and in good hands. They have a good staff, and they are very friendly when I visit. They provide nice meals for the residents. They could offer more activities in the memory care potion of the facility, but there are activities offered generally. Overall she is doing pretty well in this community, and I would recommend.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is an establishment that offers housing to two or more seniors who have no familial relation to the administrator. A nursing home facility offers its residents 24-hour care administered by registered nurses. These caregivers offer care for those who are unable to properly care for themselves.

Nursing homes can be a helpful and comfortable care choice for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will often admit individuals 55 and older seldomheard of in senior care regarding care types.Examples of care services and amenitiesprovided at nursing homes can include friendly visitor programs, bill pay, social and recreational activities, and home care (like cooking, cleaning, or help with other daily activities). Some services come at an extra cost which can include personal clothing, flowers and plants, and specially prepared food. Many residents of nursing homes might have behavioral issues. These can consist of verbal outbursts, a tendency to wander, or resisting assistance. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from restraints, be free from discrimination, have protections against involuntary transfer or discharge, and get proper privacy, property, and living arrangements. Nursing homes are required to provide pharmaceutical services, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), room and bed maintenance services, and nursing and related services to residents.
