I would highly recommend this community. For the money and cost they are the best community around this area for your loved ones. They have activities like games, movie night, church services and more for the residents.

I love it here. The only issue I have with Pacifica is... their accounting office makes mistakes and takes too long to fix them. I recommend this community.

Carolina Reserve of Hendersonville

I think you need to peek in at different times. When we visited, it looked like a beautiful place, with nobody in wheelchairs sitting around. But there are actually a lot of low functioning people there, not a lot of people you can have conversations with. So I don't think I would recommend for people who are higher functioning because they're not going to have the stimulation from other residents. But I think the staff tried to be very helpful during a stressful time and situation. The facility looked clean. The rooms are little outdated, especially the bathrooms, which are small. The sinks were pedestals, so there wasn't much counter space. But they did have stand-up showers with benches.

Everyone has been very kind to my mom. I just wish they'd take more outside excursion with the residents - since mom is totally wheelchair bound I can't take her anywhere myself. But otherwise no complaints....

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is a building that houses at least two individuals who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. This type of establishment offers its residents 24-hour care administered by registered nurses. These nurses provide specialized care for those who are unable to care for their own needs due to mental or physical conditions.

This type of facility is a convenient and comfy care option for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will usually accept individuals 55 and above (a rarity in the realm of senior care).Examples of amenities and servicesoffered at nursing homes might include social and recreational activities, patient and caregiver education, wound care for pressure sores or a surgical wound, and meal programs. A large number of inhabitants are single women with circles of support, and about half of nursing home residents are over 85 years old. The most common mental issue experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their and familiarity with their surroundings, decision making capacities, and memory recall. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include personal clothing, cosmetic and grooming items, and personal reading materials. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen, be free from abuse and neglect, make complaints, and form or participate in resident groups.
