The Residence at North Ridge in New Hope, MN

Mom has made lots of friends and stuff, but she really doesn't want to be there. She is keeping busy so that is good for our family. The place is very nice and the staff is wonderful. Sometimes there are some aides that don't get along with her or she doesn't really care for them but all for the most part is wonderful.

We've been very pleased with how things have gone with BeeHive Homes! It's a very nice community, and they've been very easy to work with through the whole process. They were very accommodating to our situation when we moved our loved one in, and we've been happy with the service and communication we've had since.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is a complex that provides lodging to at least two seniors who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. A nursing home facility offers its inhabitants 24-hour care by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide specialized care for people who cannot properly take care of themselves because of mental or physical conditions.

This type of facility is a familiar and easy care option for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will usually accept persons 55 and greater (a rarity in theworldof senior care). The most frequent mental condition effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their and familiarity with their surroundings, decision making abilities, and memory function. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from discrimination, make complaints, get proper medical care, and get proper privacy, property, and living arrangements. A significant portion of nursing home occupants are seniors who experience difficulty with vision and hearing, have incontinence issues, have mental or physical disabilities, or require assistance with daily tasks such as bathing. Some services come at an extra cost which can include special care services not included in the facility’s Medicaid payment, personal reading materials, and personal comfort items. Examples of care services and amenities offered at nursing homes might include bill pay, wound care for pressure sores or a surgical wound, skilled nursing or medical care, and monitoring serious illness and unstable health status.
