I think they are doing a good job. Any issues we are having are more with my loved one than the facility itself. Cottagewood is a great place. The staff is friendly. Another really good thing is they have rules about pets, you can bring a small dog or some cats, we were told initially that because it was overweight for the limit, but they let him bring his dog anyway, they agreed to give it a chance on a trial basis. It's hard to give an overall rating since other places we saw were a little more upscale, and fancy, this was a little more down to earth feeling.... Read more

My mom has been @ The Glenn Cottages for a few months now. 1st her electric razor disappeared. Then PJs worth $50. Recently a $150 hooded cable knit sweater from Ireland disappeared along with a hoodie. One day magazines were spread around her chair on the floor. Fall risk. Yesterday I stopped by at 1:30 pm and she didn’t have her teeth, which meant she had 2 meals without them. She also didn’t have her hearing aides. Sometimes she has someone else's glasses on. Today no glasses. D/T being a fall risk she is also supposed to have hospital socks with grippers or shoes. Neither today. She recently broke her hip @The Glenn. When I voice my concerns I am told by staff that I have been warned multiple times not to talk to staff. (Not true). The director stated they had young girls working there and she was afraid of them quitting. She did ask me not to talk to staff at that time. I should be able to advocate for my mother. She’s moving as soon as we can find another place.

A Place for Mom has scored The Glenn Buffalo Commons Assisted Living 2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
