Laurelwood at The Pinehills in Plymouth, MA

The staff is very nice. I feel reassured that my loved one is safe, has people to talk to, and things to do. Some of the activities include yoga, movies, games, happy hour, field trips, and more for the residents to choose from. The community has transportation to mass services, and doctor appointments, along with more. My loved one loves the food. The staff have been great to work with if I have questions or concerns.

Atria Fairhaven

Friendly, helpful, go above and beyond to make sure the resident feels like they belong. Would have gave a 5 but price wise it was a little too much.

Village at Proprietors Green in Marshfield, MA

It was expensive, but my mother had a positive experience there. Toward end of life, my mother was often challenging. The staff had the ability to roll with that. A majority of the employees really had their heart in it. We very rarely ran into red tape. We always felt there was an open door policy for making things right.

Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts

Nursing Homes

A nursing home community provides residence to at least two seniors who have no familial ties to the administrator. A nursing home community provides its residents with around-the-clock care by on-site nurses. These caregivers offer healthcare services for seniors who cannot take care of their needs.

Nursing homes can be a convenient and comfy living alternative for persons 65 years or older, however nursing homes will admit persons 55 and greater which is for other senior care types. A significant amount of residents tend to be bachelors or widows with circles of support, and almost half of nursing home residents are older than the age of 85. Nursing homes are required to provide emergency dental services, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), a professionallly directed program of activities, and room and bed maintenance services to residents. The most common mental disease effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can hinder their decision making abilities, memory recall, and and their sense of familiarity. Some services come at an extra cost which can include special care services not included in the community’s Medicaid payment, flowers and plants, and cosmetic and grooming items. Often times individuals might prefer to live in a nursing home over another type of community due to a mental or physical condition that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their lifestyle goals.
